Victorian-era wealthy statement house outside, eclectic inside. I enjoyed cocktails on a chaise lounge in their bar, we slept well. I don't recall them making a huge point of water-view rooms, and it's true we had to look over several ugly parking lots to see the water, but still, water-view room. I've had worse ocean views hyped up harder. Less than a mile from an amazing breakfast cafe - go early. Highly recommend reading the history of the building provided in the binder in your room.
Wasn't a problem for us, but while there is technically an elevator it's a small one and you need the staff to operate it for you - which they stop doing around 10PM. My mom had the third floor room and fortunately she's always trying to get her steps in so she only wanted the elevator when she had her bag, still if you have accessibility issues be sure to have a very clear discussion with them before committing.

The antiquity of the building, the history snd how friendly the people and the staff were. The little resteraunt and bar areas were very nice. They had a different vibe and energy in each one which I really enjoyed. The food was phenomenal, a little out of the box and not what I was expecting but delicious. The drinks were very well.made too. An extensive selection.
I didn't know about the events that occurred in the dining/bar area before hand, otherwise I might have made arrangements to buy tickets to the show.

Clean, bright room and very comfy bed. Manresa Castle is a historic building that has been updated and remodeled over the years, yet holds on to the charm of the period when it was built.
Nothing that we did not like; Manressa met our expectations. For travelers looking for new & shiny, this is not the right spot for you. It is also not in the main part of PT so not particularly within walking distance of retail although I walked to the The Cup, Safeway and to the winery ... beautiful weather so why not!? There is F&B including a fab bar onsite!

Beautiful interior and exterior surroundings. Castle dates back to 1892 so lots of decorative pieces inside. Grounds were lovely with blooming apple trees and garden areas. Comfortable bed and very quiet at night. Friendly, helpful staff. Three separate bars serving food and drinks from Wed thru Sunday(?) Not walkable to downtown but a QFC across the street for snacks or supplies.
Was not a problem for us, but no daily maid service at this time. But easy to ask front desk for supplies or the maid that was cleaning rooms around us.

The Manresa Castle is a cool building with history. Conveniently located across from a grocery store and a short drive downtown. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful and even gave us a courtesy call on request to let us know as soon as our room was ready. There was a coffee maker and fridge in the room which was nice, as well as a coffee station in the lobby.
The building is clean but feels a little shabby. I wasn't a fan of the really thick pillows but my boyfriend liked them.

The vibe was spectacularly spooky (in the best of ways). Loved it!! Felt super safe, yet eerie, so much history could be felt! The town itself was also everything we wanted & so much more! Your night staff was the best. So upbeat & personable. Even not showing up until after 10pm she welcomed us as a guest as opposed to how other hotels tend to act after hours. She was such a wealth of knowledge & such a joy!
There was a door right at my head that had no locking mechanism on my side & I have no idea if in the other person's room they were able to unlock & come in. Needless to say I didn't get sleep. Beyond that it was such a fun adventure!

Our room had a nice view of the distant harbor. Part of the charm is finding a hotel staffer to operate the 1920s elevator for you. The Rook restaurant situated in the 19th century wood paneled room is great fun if you appreciate 19th century decor with some fun enhancements and we were happy with the (contemporary!) food and service. Importantly for a building of this age, you do get your own en suite bathroom.
The immediate neighborhood outside the window is nondescript. (The classic Victorian houses are a ways farther north.) Plan to schlep your luggage up the front steps. Probably if you asked for help the staff would assist. The room was functional but mostly standard issue plain hotel furniture.

Somewhere that was music playing past 10 pm which I think is a normal curfew time. However I could not pin point if it was outside or in the hotel. But thank you for putting a fan in the room. That was helpful to drown out the noise. And I had no idea you had restaurants there. Until after we ate then checked in.
I liked everything. The three ladies working at night were fun and joyous. Great sense of humor. Very personable and friendly, very refreshing. They were very accommodating to my sense of humor. A small suggestion though. Perhaps USB ports in each room to help charge cell phones and laptops would be great.

The staff was super friendly, the location was clean, and is in a great area to get to everything in town! The woman working the front desk in the evening was extra friendly, and gave us great suggestions for food, and things to visit (she even called a few bars when she couldn’t find information online for us, and spilled all the good tea about her first few weeks working at the castle, including the ghost lore!). No ghost visits, but it was still fun to talk about it. We stayed in a king with a personal, attached bathroom, which we triple checked was in the room (it was).
The only downsides were there were a few other guests that were loud in the early morning (maybe those were the ghosts?), and the bed was harder than we’re used to

The restaurant meal and cocktails at the "Green Room" were OUTSTANDING! Loved the Thai lamb dish and the (essentially) Pad Thai dishes that my husband and I had respectively. The atmosphere of the castle was fun, and the room was clean and had everything we needed...including a wonderful mini fridge for our leftovers AND great water pressure in the shower -- we were worried about older plumbing in an old building!
The rooms were a little warm during the heat wave (though we were able to moderate by opening the window and using the ceiling fan). The location was a little further out from the fort and downtown than we'd have preferred, but not bad since we had a car and the town is not huge, plus the parking was ample and free :-). The Elephant Room bar was a little "grungy" and service down there not the best -- but probably appeals more to the younger crowd?
