We had a wonderful stay at the Pilgrim Hotel. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, especially Binh and Ms Lee! Binh was so caring and relatable, and he really looked after us. Ms Lee was always so warm and generous, offering us everything from "Happy New Year" treats and beer to expert restaurant and Ha Long Bay Tour advice (having worked on a boat there for a number of years herself)! Her generosity and kind heart made us feel very welcome at the hotel. Our room was spacious, and perfect for 3 friends, with a good fan. The location was perfect, with many delicious local food and drink joints nearby. It felt peaceful and clean, and it was a nice oasis from the loud traffic while still being in the heart of Hanoi. We loved our stay here!

The A/C smelled bad when we turned it on so we opted not to use it. The bathroom was decent, but we have stayed in hotels with better ones. Note that if you don't want a cold shower, you have to turn the hot water on with a switch outside the bathroom, and you will see a light go on.

I stayed here for a few days in Hanoi and had such an amazing experience. First the hotel was located centrally in Old Quarter and accessible to most tourist spots by foot. Around it are amazing places for dinning, shops, spas and everything you need. The room I got is quite big compared to others of the same price range and has an amazing view of the cathedral. Spotless rooms and no issues with the facilities (wifi, bathroom, cleaning, etc) But what stood out for me is my experience with the staff specially Ms Lee and Team Phuong Linh Silas. They were there for me througout the trip giving me recommendations on where to eat, helping me with bookings for tours, train rides and even taking me to the best spa treatment I got in Hanoi. They always greet you with a smile in the morning and everytime you get back from a tour. Its like getting back to you own home. One thing I also need to mention is the honesty! When I left and transferred to a different place, I forgot a huge amount of cash in the room. As soon as they discovered it, i got a call and my money was secured and was returned to me immediately. Kudos to Ms Lee and your team. Definitely recommend this place to anyone.

Location is very good, in the heart of old town. And the street is calm and pretty. The room was clean and comfortable. The highlight of the hotel was the staff. Silas was amazing. He was very hospitable, friendly, polite, and very good at his job. He helped us with everything and we felt very welcome.

No complaints

The location is fantastic. It’s right in old quarter and walking distance to many attractions and great places to eat. The air con is nice and the room was quiet. Having fresh sheets and towels was also lovely.

The shower was in an awkward position as the drain was across the room. The whole bathroom got wet when showering.

Superb situation situated within the bells of St Joseph's Cathedral. Many attractions within walking distance and plentiful supply of eating places and cafes and close to Hoan Kiem Lake Park. Large room with comfortable bed and double sliding glass doors leading onto balcony and pleasant views of street and St Joseph. Bathroom also good with floor drying quickly after shower.

Some mainteance issues needed attention

The room looks just like in the picture, pretty, clean, spacious and comfortable. Awesome price for such location, right behind the Big Church, in a beautiful alley with cool vibes.

My mother and I had a great time in Hanoi at the Pilgrim Hotel. The staff and manager were great and made us feel comfortable and at home. We really enjoyed our daily interactions and the service provided by the staff. If you are going to Hanoi and want to stay at a central place from where you can embark and see the entire city or just go out for a stroll and enjoy the hustle and bustle or visit the many food outlets consider staying at The Pilgrim Hotel. You will not regret it. On the days you don't feel like going out, relaxing on the balcony watching people and enjoying the view is an added bonus which should also been mentioned. I will definitely stay here when I go back in the future.

The hotel is located near the Church. Which means you might hear church bells ring. It didn't bother me a bit.

Mr Binh greeted us upon arrival with great kindness and gave us good advice on where to eat and where to visit, even the manager called us on the phone to welcome us and gave us two free beers to celebrate the Tet holidays. I had a great room on the fifth floor, with a clear view of the massive St Joseph cathedral. After spending a couple of weeks in the old quarter, where the rooms are compact, the sheer size of the Pilgrim's room was a welcome change. i had a writing desk, two comfortable chairs as well as a closet. in general, the vibe was slightly old-fashioned, but comfortable and relaxed nevertheless. the location, on a leafy alley just off the cathedral square, is also to be lauded, as its chock a block with cafes but at the same time not noisy or crowded. {about the points system here - in my opinion, 10 ought to be vanishingly rare, 9 only for above and beyond, and 8 should be the default for a good, and recommended stay for other travellers, but unfortunately inflation has struck here as well}

the checkout time here is 12 and I checked out at 1:15 pm. for this, i was asked to pay 100,000 VND which seems a trifle much, especially as i'd been staying there for a week. On the other hand, I got to leave my luggage for about 8 hours, and they also booked me a comfortable and very reasonably priced cab to the airport. {Edit: later, the hotel got in touch with me, apparently there had been a misunderstanding at the front desk and they refunded the amount, so this counts as a win for superior customer service} Also, be aware that (I got used to it quickly and it didn't bother me) the bells at the cathedral start tolling from 5 am.
