Getsemani Cartagena Hotel

We loved: 24-hour reception and night time security at the door The sweet breakfast server: Lucy Breakfast portions are very generous, and every day there is a new fruit juice on offer. We also loved that were given choice: how we like our eggs, meat/vegetarian, juice, coffee/tea/hot chocolate Our enormous room (room 202, King Suite with balcony) had no neighbours, so did not hear other guests. The black-out blinds were very effective. The rooftop pool (though we wish it were open longer hours, it is open 9am-7pm) The location (just on outskirts of Getsemani neighbourhood, so not beside the tourist hustle nor any clubs) Great view of the San Felipe Fortification. Walkable in under 15mins to the Centre, the Fortifications, to the piers for boats... Close to so many awesome restaurants and bars and plazas to spend time in. The helpfulness of the reception staff: they helped us get laundry done and organise drivers for some excursions.

The hotel didn't provide a bath mat for the floor, nor hand towels. We felt over-charged for excursions based on the room we booked. When we arrived our room had an extra small bed in it, instead of a couch, as in the photos. The balcony is purely aesthetic: not able to open the doors completely, and it overlooks a very busy street. We were told inaccurate information by one staff member upon our arrival (breakfast time, pool hours) Not a lot of staff spoke English. The patio has no umbrellas/cover, so nearly impossible to be up there during the day. The hotel is on a busy street corner, so if you have a room facing the outside, it is always noisy with street traffic (honking, buses, motorcycles). The bathroom is sort of "open-air" (no ceiling), so it is not very private...

Beautiful accomodation, clean, quiet, and comfortable. Perfect location in Getsemani, 10 min on foot from the walled city , the historical part of Cartagena. Great breakfast with gluten-free options. The hosts are very kind. Possibility to arrange one-day trips directly at the hotel.

The window of the room was oriented at the internal patio, so it wasn't possible to open it without a curtain or people would have seen inside the room

The accommodation is located in a renovated antique building with a beautiful internal patio. The room was clean. Breakfast was included and it was average for Colombia: juice, coffe, eggs and toast. There was a safe in the room.

The room was smaller than it looks in the picture. The hotel is advertised as luxury but it is just a normal hotel. It is located next to a road cross so it is a bit busy outside but in the room was quiet because the window gave to the internal patio.

Breakfast was incredible!!! Daily authentic meals served with a smile. The staff was very attentive to our needs and there were 4 in my group.

The only two problems were as follows: 1. The charged me for a room I canceled 6 days before my arrival. They can't seem to get that corrected over the phone. Major issue!!! 2. The last night is rained terribly and some water leaked into one of my companions rooms and destroyed a shirt and they did not care. No attempts to resolved the situation. Two items that left a sour taste during our time.

Everything was perfect, beautiful hotel and room. The breakfast was amazing specially that one arepa rellena con pollo uff😍🔥 thanks to the waitress very kind and also haha to give me one more arepa rellena. Also the mantainance guy Jaime think muy amable gracias hasta when we ask for some music @ the pool, he go somewhere and brough us a big speaker and turn on the jacuzzi and tur the lights fpr the pool. Gr8 pool and nice view of the Castillo San Felipe. Did't ask the names from the 2 guya and the lady at the front desk verry kind. Thanks and I absolutely will recomment this hotel.

The staff were great! Very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good, the views from the roof great and aircon incredible. We enjoyed our stay. Good location for the Getsemani area.

There were a few things missing from the room in terms of hooks for towels, a hand towel and smoke detector. In the room we stayed the bathroom is not a separate room rather cubicle like so there is not much privacy.

An absolute gem in Getsemani. The hotel is so conveniently located yet tucked away enough that it is quiet at night. The area felt safe and accessible to all the sites in Cartagena. Breakfast was delicious each with spectacular fruits. It was nice to also have the option of the Juan Valdez cafe connected to the lobby. The staff was excellent and the room had all the things you need. The bed was probably one of the best I've experienced in a hotel abroad. Lastly, the wifi worked for what we needed it including some streaming in the room and there were ample restaurants in the area.

The breakfast courtyard was a lovely place to host the breakfasts, though the sound does echo up. Not a big issue as we weren't looking to sleep in super late.

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. The location was perfect for exploring all of the best spots in the city, with incredibly friendly and efficient staff. There are several photo worthy spots throughout the hotel and the bed may have been the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on! This will be my go to place whenever I am in Cartagena! Thank you for making the first of, I'm sure, many trips to this enchanted city and your wonderful hotel.

Hotel is in good location. Breakfast was decent, internet worked great as i was working. Staff are very friendly and kind. Hotel was clean and beautiful

Room and bathroom is extremely tiny. I managed fine because it was just me but i wouldn’t recommend for more than 1 person. Also, Booking.com charged me way more than the hotel was advertised at other websites. I would have gotten a much bigger room for lesser. Booking.com didnt upgrade or march the price. I wouldnt use Booking.com ever for sure.
