Location is awesome Room is big Facilities are good

No AC which is suspected in 4 stars hotel Room was smelly, even if it was clean

This hotel location provided fairly easy access to and from train. (We arrived by train from Lucerne and utilized the train to enjoy the Berner Oberland area.) It’s also very convenient to the shops and restaurants of “downtown” Interlaken. We had a spacious room with 2 balconies and nice views. The staff was courteous and helpful, and the buffet breakfasts were quite enjoyable.

We were disappointed by some of the weather we encountered during our stay. We would have enjoyed our stay more had the hotel been air conditioned. Also, there was a big wrestling tournament/festival going on in the park next to the hotel and it was extremely noisy well into the night! This was one of the most expensive properties we stayed at during a 2-week trip — we would hesitate to call it a good value. Also, there was some construction going on during our stay, detracting from the exterior appearance.

1. My room had a small balcony with table & seating for two, which was unexpected, but a very pleasant surprise and much appreciated. 2. The view from my room was 'unbelievable' - lush green lawns, snow-peaked mountains - simply fantastic! 3. The sounds of bells ringing from a nearby church added to the experience.

1. There are not many dinner options in close vicinity - just a few fancy (expensive) restaurants. One has to walk about 15 min to the other side of the park, which can be particularly bothersome when raining. 2. The room had two usb charging ports, tucked away in the corner of the room, close to the ground and hidden from view behind a chair. Not the most convenient place to charge devices. There are bedside sockets, but one needs the very unique 'Swiss' adapter to use them 3. The breakfast spread was reasonably good, but remained exactly the same (with no variation) for all five days we were there.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Du Nord. Check-in was quick and easy, our room was clean with great facilities and the hotel is in a brilliant location. Extra pillows were available in the room and our room was made up daily with fresh towels. The room was warm (we stayed in winter) and even though air con isn't available, the room had two small fans, if needed. We were a 7 minute walk from the Interlaken Ost train station, and a 10 minute walk from a collection of shops. Upon check-in, we received a visitors pass with discounts and also a complimentary bus pass for the duration of our stay, which we didn't use as everything is within walking distance. We had a buffet breakfast each morning, included in the price; which was of great quality and the serving staff were lovely. All hotel staff were polite, professional and welcoming. I would definitely stay here again if we came back.

Nothing, we had a great stay!

The Hotel is very nice. And our room 202 had a corner balcony with the most spectacular view. The staff was very attentive.

We booked for 2 nights. On our first morning they knocked on our door at 8:00 am and when I opened the door the lady said she was Room Service and wanted to know if she could do our room. I thought that was too early to be knocking on our door to clean our room. But luckily we were already awake so she did not wake us up. The TV device was horrible it didn’t work every 2 minutes it would shut off. the 2 nights that I stayed I could not watch any TV. Even after I called the front desk and someone came up right away and fixed it. 2 minutes later it still was not working. Those were the only complain I have. Other than that everything was good.

Receptionist Yasamin was awesome. Helped us to order food when we arrived very late to checked in. It was our second day in Switzerland and luckily she was able to get us some hot food.

We stayed 5 nights and one of those nights, a male security woke us up in the middle of the night saying that someone co.plained of loud noise from our room. But we were asleep. Later he found out that the loud nose was coming from another room. But our sleep were disturbed. The room is spacious but the design is not functional. View is great but room right above a cross road, hence very noisy.

The hotel is a comfortable 10min walk from the Interlaken Ost train station. We arrived early and the room was ready for us when we arrived. The front desk staff was very helpful with instructions about the train to Grindelwald, Jungfrau, etc. We even bought tickets for the Jungfrau train at the front desk and hence saved us some time waiting in line to buy tickets. We had a nice room with comfortable beds and a clean bathroom. They serve a good breakfast in the morning. Would highly recommend a stay at Hotel Du Nord and will definitely be back.

The staff was the best we have experienced in all of Europe. All that we encountered were fluent in English which made it much easier to interact. Their restaurant recommendations were spot on. They genuinely wanted us to have a great stay. The rooms were very comfortable and spotless. Included breakfast was very good. There is no better location in Interlaken. You are equal distance to both train stations and directly adjacent to the center of town where you can watch hang gliders land every few minutes in the warmer months. Easy 5-10 minute walk with luggage to train stations. Also a short walk to boats that cruise the lake. Overall, a great value for what you receive. You can certainly find other hotels in Interlaken that will charge more but I can't imagine that you would get more in return. Interlaken is the type of destination where you are going to be outside except to sleep. You don't need to pay for a 5-star hotel when you get everything you need and more at Hotel Du Nord at a much better price.

The rooms are not air-conditioned which if we were spending time in the room during the day might have not been comfortable but having the windows open and a fan which they supplied made it more than comfortable in the evenings and mornings. As a general rule, most hotels in Interlaken do not have air conditioning and if they do, it likely is not the type of AC you would expect. Ice and AC are just not priorities in most European destinations. :-)

We had a pleasant stay at the hotel. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and breakfast was delicious and filling, with a lot of options: hot food like sausages and eggs; cold meat cuts; nice selection of cheeses, juices and yogurts, etc. Last but not least, the coffee was very good. Staff is fluent in English and everything is very well organized. Hotel’s location is very convenient: 10 min walk from the train station and the pier. Great restaurants are at a short walking distance. We needed to change our stay and the hotel was very accommodating. You really get to know how good a place is when you have a request or get a problem. We really appreciated their understanding and support. We highly recommend this hotel.

the staffs are very accommodating. from check in to breakfast to check out, consistent friendly and warm approach by the staffs. the breakfast has many choices. too bad they dont have restaurant for dinner and lunch. but the location is great. walking distance to Harderbahn and Interlaken OST. also walking distance to shops and restaurants.

no airconditioning for hot summer days, but they provided two small desk fans. good thing the weather is nicer during our stay.
