Aussie Rest Motel

Location was fantastic close to shopping centre and pub next door 5 min to vineyards and the room was fantastic bed was very comfortable And with Netflix too watch in the evening just a great place I definitely will be back again Funny thing was I spent my wedding night in the same room 20 years ago and it still looks great

Easy to find, host was lovely. Room was clean and had nice dark wooden furniture ie not cheap looking. Convenient location, the bed was comfortable. I had a quiet nights stay. Although it's behind the pub, I stayed mid week so didn't hear a thing. You can also put on the air conditioner to drown out any potential noise if you need to.

I was upstairs which I was fine with but if you are older or have any physical issues you may prefer the ground floor. The only thing I didn't like so much is there's no bowls only cups to make a tea/coffee. If you want cereal in your room the next morning you might need to bring a bowl!

The staff at the Aussie Rest were very friendly and a request to have a downstairs room was not a problem. It is an older style motel but each room has a different bright coloured theme which really brightens the room. The bed was king size which is unusual in a motel plus it was super comfy. The motel is next door to the Australian Hotel which is convenient to get dinner. It is a short walk to other takeaway options as well. Being on the western side of Cessnock it is also convenient for the Mt View vineyards. It is a simple motel room but has everything you need for an overnight or short stay.

We had a noisy neighbour on the night we stayed but the management was very apologetic for the disturbance and really worked to resolve the issue. No other issue during our stay.

Walked into a clean room with a beautiful smell. Bathroom was clean. Bed was comfy with extra blankets and pillows available in built-in wardrobe. Microwave , kettle, toaster all clean as well as cutlery. Close to everything cessnock has to offer. Australia hotel pub right next door great food. Staff were so friendly and helpful.

Workmen at the pub starting work early too noisy but that's nothing to do with the motel.

Beds were comfortable and great location. Short drive from the wineries.Some items getting a bit dated. all could use a good makeover. But for price I found it comfortable and great place to stay.

Bathroom was small and poky. Some furniture and fittings could use repair or updating

Stayed at Aussie Rest for a couple of nights for vineyard/Sting concert weekend. Gret location, easy access to everything

Some confusion over payment but seemed to be ok. Right next door to a pub carpark, which could have been bad, but with power outage on Saturday night, pub was closed!

The Motel was a few minutes drive from the zoo, the gardens and the park which were all of our itinerary locations. Also, shopping centers and fast food outlets to feed our hungry children. The beds were comfortable, the room was cozy and felt safe. Off the main road so felt secluded and quiet.

Our only issue was the TV was cutting in and out when the upstairs room was being cleaned. Then it stopped working altogether. It didnt bother us too much because we brought our laptop with Netflix, but in another situation I can only imagine how that would've affected a family who needed the TV to calm the kids down after a busy day.

Visited the hunter valley for a wine tour and this was the perfect accommodation to stay at for a quick one night stay! Extremely comfy bed, very clean and easy parking onsite. Staff accommodating and our room was ready for check in at 9am which was extremely helpful after a long drive. Very good value.

Basic country motel but ok facilities. Office staff friendly and helpful, location was a little noisy with pub next door but once you closed bathroom door I honestly wasn't troubled by any noise.

Excellent staff and lovely little room. Everything you need and well located in the middle of Cessnock. Locations great for doing things around the Hunter valley!

Only critique would it would of been nice to have power outlets on either side of the bed. Also a do not disturb sign wouldn't of gone amiss either as we got woken up while napping in the day following a 4am balloon ride.
