Exchange Hotel Goulburn

Close to the town centre

No heating in the TV /lounge room which was quite difficult with the kids to watch or sit in the lounge room due to the extreme cold weather.

We loved the location. Was just out of the main busy streets of town. Easy free on street parking. Vicki in the office was lovely and very friendly!

The shower had mould in it, we were only provided with 4 towels but booked for 5. There was a hole in the roof which had a towel through it to stop the hole being open. The door has no guard on it and when raining the water comes in the front door. The pillows didn’t have protectors on this which makes us a little worried incase they don’t wash the pillows between each use. The kitchen sponge was a reuseable one for money guests and was a bit tatty. Toilet seat lid doesn’t sit properly so the lid keeps hitting you in back when sitting on the toilet.

There was no spare toilet rolls - ran out on last morning, only 3 bowls for breakfast, no blinds in bedroom so street lights very bright, very thin blankets so cold at night and my pillow was like cotton wool balls - lumpy and non existent A rug in the lounge would make it more comfortable we could see it was still work in progress so hope it will be better next time we stay

I liked the low cost. I Liked the closeness to important facilities like train station, parks, restaraunts, shops. I liked that we were left to our own devices and not bothered.

Minor things like: A little cramped. Small Towels. Low stocked on toilet paper. Shower temp fluctuating between hot and cold. 3 pillows for 2 people on a double bed. No deal breakers just little minor things that caused minor annoyances.

The room is clean and modern with the most comfortable motel bed I have ever slept in.

I am disappointed in myself for not staying here 12 nights earlier. I thought the hotel was a working pub and did not want to have a noisy pub potentially keeping us awake on a Friday night. We did not know that the Exchange Hotel is only open for accommodation and not a pub. We stayed at another motel in Goulburn for around the same price, but it was far inferior to the Exchange Hotel. So do yourself a favour and stay here as it has been beautifully renovated and is excellent value for money.

Exchange Hotel was not quite finished renovations so they made new arrangements for us to stay at Calton Hotel Suites close by at no extra cost. Carlton Suites were very lovely hosts allowed our late check in. The apartment was fantastic and had all the mod cons and amenities.

Unfortunately as Calton Hotel Suites were also going through their own renovations, we had no heating and none of the outlets worked so we spent the night under our blankets. Apart from that every thing was to excellent standard and I am sure once renovations are complete everything will be top notch :)

Good things: There is a shared kitchen which would be a really good thing for people to know about before they booked in. Very clean The bathrooms are share but there are separate men and women's facilities which is really good Easy free parking on the street

No frills budget accommodation that was clean, comfortable and cosy. On a cold night the heating did the job. Water pressure in the shower was 'knock you over' good.

Can't really think of anything. It didn't have views, a spa, desk etc but it's a budget room so it would be wrong to criticise the hotel for that. To be picky I never saw a space anything like what is shown in the picture.

Very good location quiet and clean

Over the two week stay the room was never cleaned no new linen no bed change no rubbish removal as the oven never worked.

Loved the size of the room/apartment. So much room for a family of 5 . So rare for hotels to cater for more than families of 4 in this way. 3 huge beds comfortably housed is. Nice and clean and everything we needed

Just need a mirror in bathroom and some more basic kitchen stuff ie washing up brush and liquid and a kitchen bin.
