Echo Point Discovery Motel

great location, only a few minutes walk to Echo Point for the 3 sisters, and in the opposite direction only a 10 minute walk to the RSL club and start of Katoomba town centre. 686 bus route also runs to town and echo point as well as Skyrail and there’s a stop right out the front of the motel

the carpet under the beds was filthy with bits of food from previous guests. looked like the beds hadn’t been moved at all to vacuum under the beds which we found out when we adjusted the beds for our daughters. given they’re on wheels it should be easy enough to include this when cleaning the rooms

I booked two bedrooms including one kitchen and dining room which are very comfortable. Location of the motel is a short walk to Echo Point Lookout. The staff has cleaned the room everyday.

We paid hot buffet breakfast $19 on Saturday. It's not buffet, we had to select from the lists what we wanted to eat. Bacon and sausages are very salty. It's too expensive and not valuable.

The Motel is the BEST location of all the tourist points to view, within walking distance. The town is not that far, plus or minus 5-10 min if that far. The room was clean and comfortable. It had a microwave, but no hot plate, so you had to buy already-made food and just warm it up.

If you stay a longer period, it would have been nice to make your own food in the room. The restaurants in town close too early. You can't have longer walks and then have a nice relaxing dinner later. I recommend The Old Bank Bar and Brasserie, stays open later and the food was delicious.

The view wasn't bad at all, nice look onto the road with the mountains in the distance was quite pleasant to wake up to. I felt safe in the location. The bed was super comfy which was amazing. The bathroom was relatively clean. Nice spacious room, I stayed with a friend and we had plenty of room.

There was mould on the bathroom ceiling which wasn't great, and I don't like the flip lock as the only lock. Also the roof light kept flickering in and out which was a bit annoying. Otherwise for the blue mountains, it was relatively cheap so, happy with my stay :)

Best value for money hotel I have ever stayed at. Location was perfect being so close to Echo Point that we could stroll down to watch the sunsets. The staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed in a recently renovated room which was beautifully done. Great bed. Quiet aircon. Loved it.

There wasn't any shelf in the shower to put soap etc on. No towel rail either. They didn't put any skirting boards and there were nails sticking out next to one side of the bed where the skirting board should have been. No problem for us but could be a problem for a child.

Blue Mountain is so... beautiful and the hotel was close to the visitor center and hikes. Clean and large "family" room. Breakfast is available for a price - we did not opt into eating on-site.

We had the "family room" - yet no heating element was in the secondary room. We arrived late (after a night hike) and the front counter was closed - I wished I had known the times for the desk to ensure ease of check-in. In the secondary room the curtain was found on the ground, we had to put it back up.

Great location and good facilities. The motel is just walking distance from echo point / three sisters lookout and close by to many attractions and the town of Katoomba. The apartment we stayed in had two bedrooms, a kitchenette and 2 bathrooms. Great value for a family of 5. It would be really good for staying for longer periods as well (we only stayed for 2 nights). Friendly staff and they offered breakfast for reasonable rates (although we didn't try that as we had other plans). The motel is old and some furniture, fittings, bathroom styles are the same, however, it was clean and up to our expectations. The water pressure on the showers were really good and enough heating available for colder months. PS. The photos were taken at checkout, excuse the mess! When we checked-in the beds were neat and plenty of towels available the room was cleaned on the second day as well.

There was a somewhat noticeable smell to the room, which I suspect is the carpet given the rainy period we in the weeks prior. The parking is also not designated, which meant it is possible that someone could park in front of your room.

Very short walk from world-class sight-seeing: Three Sisters and Katoomba Falls. Very short driving distance and must see: Wentworth Falls and Valley of Waters Track (7 waterfalls on one trail). Best value in terms of price. Excellent room size, beds, and bathroom vanity. Bonus housekeeping clean everyday by professional housekeepers that do an amazing job.

Upon check-in administration person seemed inconvenienced by our arrival. Could improve having a toaster, freezer, shower drain loose and toilet didn't flush very well.

Echo Point Motel is a lovely place to stay, especially if you wish to visit the Blue Mountains. The little extras make this place stand out. There is a nice range of beverages in the room and there are electrical points at the bedside. The location is central but quiet and the familiar roar of heavy trucks is not to be heard here. There is no on-site restaurant. The ones I thoroughly recommend are The Carrington with fine dining and Regency character for the same price as ordinary restaurants, and the Yellow Deli which is quaint and good quality.

My partner and I booked last minute accommodation for our anniversary and we’re pleasantly surprised by the room. The room was perfect for us and had everything we needed. The enjoyed a coffee in bed while looking at the mountains and loved walking down to the three sisters. The lady at reception suggested a spot for dinner and breakfast and both suggestions were 10/10! We will definitely be staying again and have already recommended the accommodation to others.
