Grand View Hotel

The staff!! They go out of their way to make you feel like this is a home away from home. I couldn’t believe how kind and attentive they were to me and my 2 kids on our weekend in the mountains. And they were so understanding when my mum had to cancel last minute. There’s also just so much space. It’s awesome. The beds are super comfy and the bathroom was modern, great shower, and again massive. Kids loved the playroom at breakfast time. Great tea and coffee facilities in our room. This is ridiculous good value in such an expensive location. I can’t wait to come back.

Nothing — perfect!

The dinner was quite good. There was no option to have breakfast but there were plenty of cafe selections across the road.It is a beautiful old hotel so we are very glad someone is caring enough to have it restored. At the moment it is a work in progress so not finished as yet. The room was quite small but then the price was a reflection of this. The staff were just lovely which made our stay very enjoyable. The room was also very clean and warm.

It was a very cold wet day the time we were there and it would have been very nice to have been able to have breakfast in the hotel. Perhaps delivered to the room.

The hotel was beautiful, loved its historic look. Its been renovated so that u have modern facilities. Beds carpets and walls all look new and clean. Bed and pillows were amazing, very comfortable. Blackout curtains were great too. Bistro and bar are downstairs which is very handy. Food was brilliant. I would definitely stay here again!

The cold tap in the room was a little warm so we just kept some water in the room fridge if wanting to drink water. Bathrooms are shared however they were always available and kept very clean so we didnt mind too much.

Great location and the rooms were good. Single beds had electric blankets which was great as no additional blankets were provided. easy drive to Katoomba and Wentworth Falls. The restaurant downstairs was great and had gluten free options.

The shared bathrooms were a bit strange. While separated into mens and womens the showed in the womens don’t allow you to lock them and privacy is only there because if the opacity of the glass. otherwise facilities were good.

we had room 1. bedroom area small but it had an area for working at , with tea and coffee facilities,between the bedroom and the enormous en-suite. Great shower, with nice shampoo etc, great quality bedding and towels. The food in the hotel was really good, and good value. The wines were excellent,they own the bottle shop on site which stocks a wide range of wines in both price and quality. The road noise might be bothersome to some so bring earplugs,sorted.

No real view, must have had at one point

I've been a frequent guest at the Grand View over the past couple of years, as my beloved late uncle Glen - who lived in the Blue Mountains - was very ill. It was always a delight. Comfy rooms, great food and drink, and right next to the railway station, which made travel from the airport (I live in Melbourne) and to my uncle's place in Lawson a breeze. He sadly died in July, and this last visit was for his posthumous birthday party/wake. Again, the service and comfort that evening made the expereince even more special

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Lovely old building. Free EV charging. Very nice food at the restaurant, particularly the pumpkin ravioli! Can get busy so you may need to book! Room 15 was comfortable and quiet with a nice modern bathroom. Location is an easy walk to train station and village shops. I would suggest a stop at Swartz Patisserie before or after a walk around Wentworth Falls Lake.

The recent renovations and general layout worked a treat. Easy parking at the rear of the property, plus excellent staff and a good bistro. Rooms were tastefully renovated and comfortable.

Whilst being close to the highway is both a plus and a minus. For those who are light sleepers then truck noise could be annoying in the middle of the night - a solution is to ask for a bedroom at the rear of the building. Staff are very accommodating in this regard.

The breakfast was filling and tasty. It was well situated close to the places we wanted to explore.

The hot water was not working in our room and so we had to switch rooms, however the staff were very good about it and we received complimentary breakfast. I couldn't find a hair dryer in the double room although there was one in the queen room we were in first. Minor glitches to an overall lovely stay.

Location was fantastic, great place to look out the balcony at the view and very clean and fully accommodating facilities, easy and uncomplicated place to stay.

The main road outside has a huge amount of travel on it, primarily trucks causing a lot of noise. While this is unavoidable, it might be worth double insulating the windows and cooling inside on the road-facing balcony rooms as closing the door in the summer was quite hot and with only the screen door the noise was a bit too much to get a good sleep.
