Mantra on Salt Beach

Pool area very good, restaurants available also adequate. Overall appearance of resort is good although looking a bit outdated.

On arrival in room. No beach towels available. No tea towel hard to dry dishes. Linen change only once in a 10 nights stay. Room not cleaned well, lots of dust on louvres. Outside area around pool needs more shade umbrellas. 4 portable umbrellas at start of pool area insufficient and would be blow over if a windy day.Need fixed umbrellas as a better option. Overall a pleasant stay but lacking the finer touches. We are regular annual visitors to the resort.

The location was excellent. The options for places to eat were great. Our room, once we asked to be changed from the access room we were initially given, was very good. The access room was difficult and dangerous. As there was no enclosure for the shower (not even a curtain), and, the floor was flat, water from the shower went everywhere. There was no means of mopping up the water, apart from using our bath towels, as no mop and bucket were provided. Once the shower had been used, it was difficult to use the toilet and handbasin without slipping. A slip on the wet floor could have had quite serious consequences.

It is excellent that there are access rooms. But, we are concerned, after our experience of an access room, that this room may not be completely suitable for disabled persons, particularly, those in a wheelchair. A person getting in to, or, out of, the shower chair, or, using the toilet, from a wheelchair, could easily slip. Not all people in a wheelchair have a carer to help them shower and toilet. Could this be looked in to?

The grounds and general areas are meticulously maintained. Everything looked fresh and inviting. The location is perfect. Absolute beachfront access allowed us to do some whale spotting. The shops and restaurants in the adjacent Salt Village meant we didn’t need to leave the resort for anything. The apartment was clean and comfortable and very quiet. The huge deck, complete with sun loungers was an added bonus.

The main lagoon pool was absolutely freezing cold. With such a huge flat roof on each wing, surely solar panels or piping could be installed to heat the pool fairly cheaply so it could be used year round. Also, in this day and age having to pay for wifi was a bit unexpected and unusual.

The facility was grand and well appointed and well located to the beach and local environment. The attached shopping arcade with restaurants and a pub were very convenient given the proximity to the Kingscliff village (approx 2 km away)

Our "ocean view" room was quite small and overlooked the pool area and bar at the centre of the facility. Fine by day but problematic at night where patrons continued to drink and enjoy themselves until midnight. The first night was a wedding and the second a corporate event. Had to line up at the bar with wedding guests for a drink and the next day the bar was closed. Breakfast was not provided on site but was available at cost of $35 per person, across the road at Season. The visit was relatively expensive but still a $200 assurance was charged and to borrow an umbrella to go across the road for breakfast incurred a $50 bond.

Beautfull location. Perfect for quite weekend getaway. Celebrating wedding anniversary

Room was very small. Bed was 2 single beds pushed together. Found the bed uncomfortable. If this is the standed bedding than I think the room rate is far to much. Request for clean towels but none available. Request for more sugar but was not supplied. Tea and Coffee, sugar selection minimal supply. For a 4 1/2 * resort a better selection of tea/coffee would be appreciated. Very limited meals available. Luckily there there are a number of cafes and restaurants in the village.

Great location for dining and conveniences were all close by. Lovely resort for families and friends to be together in one spot. Staff were very helpful. Plenty of bars and the poolside amenities were also as would be expected in a resort of this calibre. We'd definitely return here, especially for a longer stay, sometime.

I have to agree with some of the comments in the reviews. The rooms and general accomodation are showing their age. Probably needs some TLC in the very near future if it is to live up to expectations of this standard of resort. I totally understand that we had nearly 4 years of hard times for the hospitality industry and that's why I don't want to sound too harsh in my criticism. Hopefully this will change as times get better and good staff are able to be found. We did kind of expect this going by some reviews. Some were very critical and I think, and possibly, a little unjust. Our suite was very comfortable and clean. just showing signs of wear and tear.

Loved the layout, the heated pool wad beautiful, unit fully self contained with spa bath. Plenty of bedding, clean and comfortable.

Unfortunately the spa was out of order, i would of like to have known or had some communication about it as the spa was the main reason i chose to stay. It was dissapointing to just see a sign. OUT OF ORDER. I also wasnt told where to get food and onmy accidentally found the pavillion area with the shops and cafes. Im sure it was in hotel information somewhere but it wasnt clear to me.

The location is the best ever, situated right on a beautiful beach, with easy access. Restaurants and Cafes located beside the hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and very professional. The hotel has an amazing Pool area, Gym, Bar located overlooking the pool, with a very tempting cocktail menu.

We have stayed here a few times before, and always had a room on the ground floor overlooking the garden, these rooms are quiet and private, and easy access to the beach. This time we were in a room on the 3rd Floor overlooking the car park, for the same price, this was noisy and not private, and not as accessible to the lifts, pool or the beach. The rooms on the 3rd floor, also have a smaller room configuration, with the light to the bathroom inside the bathroom against the wall below the mirror, meaning you had to enter the bathroom in the dark to try and locate the light switch.

The room, facilities and the village shops and restaurants were great, unfortunately the weather was bad so couldn't use the pool.

I didn't like the 'damage deposit of AUD 200' nor the reimbursement being within 14 days of check-out. Most places just hold the debit/credit card details and only take the money if there is a problem later. Also, the refund time frame of 14 days is abit extreme. All places that I have stayed at even cheaper motels offer free WI-FI, the Mantra did not and only for members of Accor.

Beautiful resort and facilities. Unfortunately we were only there for the night so didn’t use any of them. Staff were friendly and very accommodating. Room was lovely with a comfy bed and a bath with separate shower in the ensuite. Lots of restaurants and a pub a couple of minutes walk away. With Kingscliff village a couple of minutes drive.
