Alloggio Thornton

Alloggio Thornton was exceptionally clean and quiet. Although it was only a very short distance from the New England Highway, there was no traffic noise. We had the Family Suite which was two adjoining rooms with a double interconnecting doorway. Each room had a king size bed and its own bathroom/kitchenette. Both rooms were large and tidy, as were the bathrooms. Booking in was easy - just entered the provided code at the front door and the room door. Plenty of free parking.

Nothing. There was no restaurant attached, but we did not need one. There was a fridge and microwave for basic cooking but again we didn't need them.

Fantastic little option , very new and modern, extremely clean and well stocked with plenty of toiilet paper and liquid bodywash/handwash and shampoo dispensers. Good quality products and smell really nice. Really easy transaction and instructions on contactless process of accessing the oroperty/room. The main room was a really good size and had a good little wardroble and bar fridge/microwave/ kettle area. Also came with a ironing board and iron. The bathroom was a really good size and the shower was a large one... approximately 1200 x 100cm (plenty of room).. also came with a hairdryer. Really close to everything you need, main hwy just down the road,shopping centre 5 minutes drive, plenty of take away options close by, also right near a 7 eleven servo. Only downfall for us was the bed was too firm .

The room itself and the bathroom were huge. The self check in was super easy. Though if you left your room without your phone, you would be screwed without the lengthy door pin code. I'm not sure how you would get back in. Massive bedroom window was great, though the view wasn't much to look at.

The bed was super hard. Which I personally find very uncomfortable. All the room doors slam very hard if you're not careful. So get used to that during the night as people come and go. The corridors can be loud as well, with other guests feeling the need to shout talk for no reason. Power points only on one side of the bed

We were passing through driving Brisbane to Canberra and needed somewhere to stop for a night. We booked late at night and was sent immediate self check in options. Super convenient and easy to do. Good location to pop off the main highway and find Beds were fine and pillows super fluffy, nice clean sheets and floors. Good wifi and smart TV with Netflix etc Could hear the occasional door close but did not notice sound from other rooms and the parking lot was full so assume there was lots of people staying I wouldn’t go for a holiday but as a stop on a long drive it was perfect for our needs

No window or balcony so had to go outside to smoke. But that’s fine

extremely clean, large rooms, comfortable bed, great shower, heaps of free parking and felt safe leaving cars there as lights stay on in the carpark. we received our texts with the codes for our rooms, one rooms code was blank- messaged the property via booking.com to send that rooms code and was sent extremely quickly. Kettle, tea, coffee, milk, fridge included. tv with netflix, great a/c, vending machines downstairs. great place to stay close to highway

our booking was “pay at property”, received messages to call the property as my card declined payment, as we were travelling my phone was cutting in and out of service so was hard to contact but when I was able to was notified payment needed to be made via the card on my booking as no staff are on site. Pay at property option should be taken off the booking system as we hoped to pay cash for our stay

Their website is a nightmare. Access in and out of the main building and rooms is via codes sent to your phone. On 4 separate occasions these had to be altered and resent because i was locked out of the main building, room or both. Thankfully i carried my phone out to the car the first time, or I'd probably still be standing in the 38 degree heat. There were several other guests going through the same impossible hassles at the same time. There appears to be nobody in attendance. Hopeless situation.

I actually really liked that the room entry and hotel entry were all automated. And that there were not that much other guests when we stayed there. I also liked that the room furnishings were all new, the way the soap and shampoo dispensers worked, and the rack in the shower. They made our stay very pleasant. Also, I liked that when my husband called the contact centre for help, his call was answered quickly.

No late checkout. My husband got locked out of the hotel but that got rectified quickly.

Easy to follow instructions on how to access property provided via text and clearly displayed at the entrance to the venue. The bed was quite firm, which some may not like, but was perfect for me. The room was incredibly spacious and had a large bathroom.

The air conditioning unit wasn't able to have the temperature adjusted, only the speed of the fan. It was also incredibly noisy which made for an unrestful night of sleep. The receiving point on the TV also flashed throughout the night

Good accommodation for the price. Easy to find and access. Was not too noisy overall. Parking was easy. Would stay here again.

Bathroom could have been cleaned a bit better (hair/dust under sink/bench) and shower soap empty (but we brought our own anyway). Shower was also really low on pressure (not really a big issue, just a bit odd). Entry codes were fine/easy to use but had to enter them multiple times. Just didn't quite get the hang of entering them quick enough. Had no issues finding the place either, but one of us was a local and knew the area well enough. Based on some of the reviews, interstate/overseas travelers may need to be mindful when looking up directions. In saying that, we also had an Uber cancel on us because they thought the entrance was on the highway, even though we pinned pickup on the back road. Second Uber driver had no issues.

great rooms, if had your own personal bathrooms etc.

the two things is I didn’t like is the housekeeping wasn’t done on a regular basis I needed new towels and I had to keep re-using the same towels. the second thing I didn’t like is there is a staff member called “Rob” and he had great customer service but whenever I saw him at the hotel he always gave me his brochure for one of his businesses about food etc. and one time he saw me with some dominos pizza to have for dinner and he again gave me the brochure which I found abit annoying and disturbing, in future it would be best if he doesn’t interfere with other peoples life. Thanks, hope that will be taken in consideration.
