Oaks Sydney Castlereagh Suites

Very spacious. Kitchen is very convenient and was able to cook a few meals. It is really good to have an oven. Location is great - Thaitown and Chinatown are really close. Have a washing machine is good too. Service is mixed - generally the female staff are quite kind and professional.

Lifts always seem to be under maintenance. Clothes dryer was broken. Maintenance is always an issue it seems with my previous stay plagued by a broken oven and broken washing machine.

Took an hour to check in as room wasn’t ready.

Location is great. It is good to have an oven, stove, washing machine, dryer. Apartments have a lot of space. Female staff are usually quite nice. (some of the male staff are a little dismissive).

We were also put next to someone who sang at the top of their voice for 1 hour at midnight. We complained but nothing seemed to have been done about it as it lasted forever and we couldn't sleep. Maintenance seems to be an issue here. The lifts are usually broken. The first room I had had a broken washing machine and oven. On my second stay, the dryer was broken. We complained about the broken facilities and only then were we moved.

Only one working lift in the building that went above floor 10. We were on floor 28. There was a lot of waiting about for a lift and a lot of people not happy about that. They are saying it will be 6 months before the other lift is back in service! Also, very slow checking in. The telephone in our room didn’t work, I told them twice and they said it would be repaired but it never was so couldn’t contact reception without using lift. Balcony railings too low to be safe.

It was a really spacious suite, in a convenient central location, great for accessing the sites of Sydney. A few of the hotel facilities were not working/below par. 1) the swimming pool was so cold it couldn’t be used comfortably. In fact we never saw anyone in it for that reason 2) the jet pool water jets didn’t work 3) the games room was empty and locked up. It shouldn’t therefore be advertised as a facility In the room facilities were ok but there was no dishcloth provided, only a Brillo pad Our dishwasher didn’t work despite maintenance checking it. It works turn on and then stop 10 minutes later The fridge was too cold and so our fresh produce such as cucumber and capsicum froze. We then turned it up after first day but this was disappointing as an expensive waste. When we checked out the receptionist claimed we had been given 3 keys (we had been given 2) and told us we would be charged if they couldn’t find it. This was a sour ending to our trip and better care needs to be taken at checkin for both parties to sign how many keys are provided to avoid such accusations. Despite the issues stated the hotel itself is a great location and good space. Great cleaners.

Location was great -just down the road from Central Rail station through Belmore Park. Easy walking distance. Apartment was spacious and well set out -we were on 20th floor. Stayed 12 nights with one service which suited us fine. Bedding was comfortable, except quilts provided for Sydney this time of the year not suitable - too hot. A single blanket would have been better.

One lift undergoing maintenance which meant the lift to our apartment was quite often delayed - cleaning staff with big trolleys also using the same lift caused problems. Would not return here unless all 3 lifts operating. Also, our check-in time took around a half hour's wait as only one person on reception and 3 groups ahead of us.

Easy check-in and check-out. 2-bedroom unit which was spacious enough for our family with 2 bathrooms & full kitchen (maybe a few more utensils) Liked the fact that there was a dryer as well as washing machine in the apartment. Location is amazing & extremely convenient to public transport. Shopping centre is a short stroll whether you are after something particular or just Coles. A little bit pricey for our family but am most definitely trying to book again as its ticked all our boxes for accommodation, so will see what special deals the "Oaks" comes up with. Staff members where helpful, cheerful and happy to help.

Only real complaint is that air conditioning didn't work so staff came upstairs with heaters for us to use after calling maintenance. Kitchen coffee cups are abit on the small side, so I bought bigger ones for the next family to use.

It was a really top class stay. It is actually an apart-hotel with all possible amenities like washing machine, dryer, iron, ironing board, all necessary pots and pans and even a dishwasher. Nothing lacking! Bed room as well as the living room are of a luxurious size and are very well-appointed. The bathroom is large and is equipped with washing machine etc as described above. The location was also well within the CBD, very close to the main Street. Staff at the reception are smiling and helpful. I would recommend this accommodation very highly.

Nothing which we didn't like.

Great location, close to events, attractions and light rail and train transport. The 2-bedroom apartment was spacious, clean and comfortable. Beds were fitted with clean, crisp sheets and were very comfortable. Staff and service was very friendly, professional and courteous.

Upon arrival, the 2-bedroom apartment was stuffy and smelt musty. The apartment decor is tired and could do with a spruce up. The level 3 lift tile area had coffee/tea stains that were not cleaned from time of arrival to departure two days later. The level 3 hallway carpet appeared grubby and well worn. Could do with a carpet shampoo and clean. The pool and spa were divine however the ceiling and parts of the walls are in need of repair, are unsightly and detracts from the overall experience.
