Hemus Hotel Sofia

Location is nice. Metro station right downstairs, ATM machine and a mall opposite of it. We reserved and paid for the parking which is well worthy. Hotel is easily accessible with a car. Didn't go to the center on this visit but the center is close, either by metro and even by foot. Staff were nice. I did a booking mistake failing to input the correct number of people in the reservation but they decided not to charge extra. The room was in the 'new wing'. Large and comfortable room, quite and air conditioned. It's good value for money and would stay there again when in Sofia.

It was just bad luck I presume, but one of the beds had its bed slats dislodged. Since it was midnight we were tired to call the reception and wait for someone to help, we just fixed it ourselves. When doing that we noticed a big brown stain on the bottom of the mattress, don't know what it was and didn't want to find out. This is more of a tip to the hotel to have a look at it than a critique.

An excellent choice – the hotel is close to the city center, next to a lovely park, and right in front of a subway station. My room was huge and fully equipped. The breakfast menu was very good. If I return to Sofia, I'll surely stay here again!

During my first night the aircon wasn't working properly. They said they couldn't repair it because it was the weekend, but moved me to another (even bigger) room where it worked very well.

Friendly staff, beautiful view from 14th floor. Comfortable location, there is a metro station in front of the hotel. There is 1 metro station or about 10 minutes by foot from the central Vitosha boulevard. There is a shopping mall (Park Center) near the hotel and a very big one more (Paradise Center), 10 minutes by metro to the south.

Shower cabin is rather tight. No lamp on the ceiling, so not enough light in the room in the evening even if all available lights are switched on.

The nicest thing about this hotel may be that somebody called me after my stay to follow up with me about my experience here. It shows they care. To be honest, I saw several bad reviews after booking my room and I was worried that I’d have a bad night. The opposite was the case. The hotel sits above a casino and there’s a nightclub around the corner but this didn’t bother me on the 14th floor. The room furniture was old but comfortable . The carpet had a few bald patches but it was clean. The shower was hot, The Airconditioning was cold and I slept like a baby. I’d stay here again. I wish the Hemus the best going into the future.

I didn’t know what to expect because of the casino.

The Hemus is located on a major intersection about 2 km from the centre. It is adjacent to a Metro station and opposite a mall so everything is handy. It has secure parking available and a taxi dropoff out front. I is within walking distance of a 24 hr McDonalds. This is the view from the 16th floor room.The hotel was very business like and everything worked well. The room size was average. Wifi was fine.

No issues. The exit from the car garage can be a bit tricky as one exit only goes to the business centre.

The staff was amazing and the overall value is great+a great location. It is Right next to the metro station, so quite easy to travel.I would most certainly visit it again.

Might sound strange, but the key for the door was on the biggest thingy I have ever seen. You might be able to fight off an attacker with it...Must install key cards and QR readers, so You can enter with Your phone at some point. The bathroom door was wooden and old. The minibar in the room was not cooling the items inside sufficiently I would say and the temp. outside was 35 C!!!Also I did not see an ice machine anywhere on the floor.

The hotel was clean, very nice breakfast, the staff is very helpful. Great location

During our stay there was a problem with hot water (all around the neighborhood), but no one from the reception called to tell us about this situation. The hotel also uses many single plastics and other single use toileteries, there are no recycling bins.

The breakfast was fine... but it was continental breakfast. You can chouse from a 5 meals you can have omlet or baked breas in eggs, pancakes, egg&baiken or grilled vegetable. In my previous stay in the hotel the breakfast was open buffet, and a very good one.

Near everything, a metro station in front of the door that connects it to everywhere. It was clean with full options and a good price.

Really nice room pleasant view excellent location everything walking distance. Breakfast is a mix-bag some good and some not so but plenty to choose from so sure to find something you like.
