citizenM Paris La Défense

Stayed here for the Burna Boy concert. I normally do lots of research beforehand, but didnt this time. But I needed a hotel and this one was perfect. It is located across the road from the paris la defence stadium, so top marks for location. Also really food for public transport and also located near to Westfield shopping centre, which has lots of restaurants. Upon early arrival, I was able to check into the room, which was fantastic. The check-in was quick and easy and the room was clean and compact and everything controlled by an ipad. Breakfast was tasty and filling with lots of options. Check out was good with lots of staff to help following a computer system issue. Overall a really nice hotel in a good location on the outskirts of paris.

The Staff are all, without any exception, very kind, skillfull and good hosts and hostesses. But there's one host in particular we want to mention here and that's Nicholas. He is, by exception, a great host and told us all we needed to know to explore the Parisien public transport and so on. Dankie, dankie, dankie Nicholas for being such a great host, from your Dutch/Indonesian guests. It was baaie goed! The location is la Défense nearby the Grande Arch, and not in the city center, but with the excellent public transportation easy and fast to get to all the great things Paris has to offer. The rooms are a bit small to our likings but cozy enough for a weekend with all the nice facilities. We had rooms with a stunning view on the Grand Arche and that alone was worth the stay at the CitizenM in la Défense. We also especially want to mention the awesome ART and interior in the CitizenM hotel. A big WOW!!!

About 40% of the tv channels are for Arab speaking tourists and we missed a tv channel like BVN (Dutch tv broadcasting) to follow the Dutch Journaal. That would be nice to offer on your TV channel for Dutch speaking tourists. After all, didn't you guys started the first CitizenM hotel in the Netherlands, to be more specific at Schiphol airport?

Perfect location for my meetings in la defense. I got a room with a view of the grande arch and the funky room layout was cool with controls of everything from an iPad. Internet tv so you can get Chanel’s in most countries. Cool lighting in room. The use of the downstairs to work and free coffee is also good. I had dinner there the first night and it was good. Weekends are quiet as this is a business area. During the week the bars round about are open The terrace is nice if the weather is fine. I have re booked for 2 more trips in the coming months.

I was on 7 th floor. With a great view but one of the 2 lifts was out of order so I had longer to wait to get downstairs. Minor issue which I am sure is fixed now. Kids skateboard up and down the paved area outside so you have to watch when walking.

Easy to access by car, and secure underground car park at a reasonable rate by Paris standards. Friendly and helpful staff (needed particularly when the technology doesn't work). We appreciated the early check-in at no additional cost.

The double bed is right up against the window, which means the person on the wall side has to clamber over the other to get out of the bed! (Apparently all the rooms have the same configuration). Very little privacy as the washbasin is not in the bathroom itself; also the 'bathroom' is just a semi-tranparent plastic cubicle, not a proper room. The thin fabric by which the bed can be curtained off from the rest of the room is not an adequate solution. The lighting controls via an iPad were fun but not very effective. Ordinary switches are much more practical!

The staff were welcoming and friendly. It was nice to be given a choice of rooms and our room was clean with a comfortable bed. The shower was very good. We didn’t have breakfast each day but when we did, we appreciated the selection available and the quality.

I would have liked more storage options in the room so we could unpack our cases. The bar staff were overwhelmed when guests arrived after a concert. I think they need some training in how to handle crowds to avoid conflict when people are served out of turn.

We were very happy with the service, the staff were absolutely brilliant, helpful and super friendly. Breakfast was great and plenty to choose from which was really nice! The room was much smaller than I had expected unfortunately. The bed was a little awkward as you had to climb over your partner to get in and out; and the pillows felt like they were filled with 3 feathers and fresh air (giggle). It's a good concept and I loved that everything was controlled by an iPad so it was nice and easy. A kettle with some tea and coffee in the room would be an excellent addition in the future please!!!! Overall, we would definitely book again here, thank you!!!!

The bed was difficult to get in and out of and the pillows were awful (but pillows can be tricky - too hard everyone complains, too soft and I complain). No tea and coffee in the room was horrible because after a day working sometimes you just want to make a cup of tea and watch the tv to relax.

CitizenM never fails to meet my expectations. They might have small rooms and be a bit pricey (compared to others) but the experience is always great. I keep coming back over and over. CitizenM La Defense has great access to public transport and a very nice location. I would also highlight the breakfast, which we weren't initially having and then decided to. Excellent selection. And as always, amazing staff: multilingual, attentive, engaged and overall great!

I cannot express how impressed I was with this hotel.If i could give a higher rating than a 10 i would.Firstly I have to commend the staff on what I can only describe as extremely competent at their job.They are welcoming,friendly,engaging and effortless when accommodating their guests and ensuring they have a wonderful stay.They are the perfect hosts.The room was fabulous(loved the high tech!!)and immaculatIely clean.I look forward to visiting again and would highly recommend.Samantha Beckett

Nothing negative

I loved my stay at the CitizenM. It was easy to check-in, if you have problems or question, there is always someone to help. The room was very clean and I love the design. As you know, you can regulate everything with an iPad. That's really smart and modern. I appreciate the fluffy and extra large towels. You can also regulate the room temperature. But mostly I liked the comfortable bed, I slept very well. I stayed at the CitizenM for a concert, the Arena is in front of the hotel. So relaxed!

During my check-in I got an Ipad. One was already in the room. First I found this strange. I thought why two iPads, was that a mistake? I didn't think about it further. One our later I leave the Hotel. When I come back, I noticed that there was only one iPad. Where was the second one? I searched every corner in the room... I would have liked to have been informed that this was a mistake and someone took out the iPad. Sry but this is so crazy :D

The concept of hotel is kind of self-service but staff is very friendly and supportive. Check-in by my self is very interesting and convenient process. If you take a breakfast, the drinking water and hot beverages available for you 24/7. All staff propose help in any question. 5 minutes to metro and huge Westfield mall. 3 cafe in front of hotel. Best for 2-3 nights of business trip.

Rooms small and not cleans every day. On the breakfast was the mess of people because of lack of sits in food area (outside were cold) but it's more about guests behavior then hotel.
