Hotel Americain

The location was good, close to shops, restaurants and public transports. I actually preferred walking to Notre Dame, LVHB, etc which is just 30 mins and you get to discover other places of interest along the way. The room was a bit small and the shower had a long shower curtain which was not very easy during shower but I managed somehow during my 5 nights stay. The air condition was not yet in operation when I stayed, lucky it wasn't that hot yet during the night. The room has a nice terrace window, typical of Paris, which I could left open at night but it was noisy sometimes. There is a very nice boulangerie just in the corner and it's perfect for breakfast. Don't forget to try the Bouillion Republique which is just a few steps from the hotel. It is one of the most authentic French restaurant you could experience and the food is so cheap. There is a long queue everyday so it's worth to book. Also, the hotel is just 2 or 3 blocks away from Canal St Martin, a lovely discovery during my many walks around the area near the hotel.

There was no airconditioning when I was there. The hotel was in the process of installing aircons in the room(s), but lucky it wasn't summer yet when I stayed there.

The location is perfect: next to a traditional bakery and close to many restaurants (especially Bouillon, the typical french brasserie) and cafés, but also only two or three steps away from the Place de la République, whose subway station is a central hub allowing you to go many places without any change. Besides, the hotel staff was incredibly helpful in all matters (some of them going well beyond the hotel itself) and we had the nice surprise to discover a tiny balcony at the corner of our room, which wasn't big enough to stand on, but still offered us the feeling of a real balcony, overlooking a nice and quiet square with lots of trees !

Maybe the surfaces in the bathroom where to put our bathroom stuff could have been a little bit bigger, as there was only a tiny shelf above the sink (which really isn't enough for two people).

the location was fabulous. the hotel is at the edge of le marais neighbourhood, just close enough to chic cafés but also more affordable supermarkets and bakeries. republique metro stop and other stops are just around the corner, as well as plenty of buses. the room was compact, but it had an amazing balcony/view which was very dreamy. the bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom had all the essential amenities. the price for the area is good, this is a hotel i would for sure book again in the future.

the area is pretty quiet at night, but the walls seem to be thin so I could hear my neighbours.

we stayed in one of the rooms on the end of the building so was very light with more space than the other rooms. beds really comfortable. staff really friendly and looked after our bags as we arrived earlier than check in and left much later than check out so that was really appreciated. GREAT location, easy to metro and in a nice district

when we went it was really hot weather, room doesn’t have air con so needed to keep all out doors and windows open, street noise loud at times but didn’t bother us too much, other than that the room was a little bit dusty and a bit out dated but we didn’t spend much time in there. shower leaked a big pool of water too which wasn’t a massive deal to us but might cause some damage to the bathroom eventually! all rooms are really small, which is pretty normal for paris so not much storage/surface space for two people but great value for money for paris

the location is perfect. easy to walk to the metro station , requblique. the room is clean. even I stayed there for 3 nights, they clean the room and change the towels every day which absolutely made my stay comfortable. and the stuff at the reception were always nice. they have the elevator as well. I liked the bakery next to the hotel!

if I must say, if the room locates beside the street , it can be a bit noisy at night. the noise from the pubs/ restaurants around. but it didn’t bother me.

The room was exactly as advertised - two twin beds, made up daily, working shower and bath. Great neighborhood with a million amazing restaurants, shops, and brilliant night life.

You have 48 hour access to rather low speed internet for 1 device (that you get with a slip that has a log in). There was only one towel per person. This is not a place filled with amenities. Our room overlooked a kind of hang-out spot where people congregated and played music until 2 am every night (even on week nights).

Beautiful $10 Euro buffet for breakfast, it feels like a family business, staff really kind. Also, close to different Metro and bus stations. Cleaning of the room performed every day.

Building is a bit old and cleanliness is not 100% on point in the difficult spaces: behind the bed, under the bed, etc. However, overall it was a good stay

The location is really nice, located in 'Le Marais ' and reasonably close to most of the interesting places Paris has to offer. The staff is kind and willing to help as well (24h/day available) and the room was clean and tidy.

The walls are not that thick, so it could be a bit noisy sometimes. However, my neighbors were quite quiet and I had earplugs with me, so it was not really a problem to me.

if your a solo traveler room 603 is great, cute little balcony and view of eiffel tower. staff were friendly.

breakfast wasn’t included in the price, i only had it once as i’d prefer to eat in a cafe if i have to pay anyway. but it’s nice that the option is there

A great place, located in a very interesting district, you can feel the atmosphere of Paris and France. There are many cafes and restaurants in the area. Easy access to any part of the city (subway, buses). The staff was extremely helpful, speaking great English. An excellent bakery in the vicinity of the hotel.
