Hotel Elysa-Luxembourg

Our family of 4 travelled to Paris for the first time. Having heard that the rooms in European hotels tend to be small, we opted to reserve 2 rooms. We requested that our rooms be close, as we've never had our teenage daughters in a room by themselves, and the hotel was very accommodating! The rooms were just across the hall from each other. Perfect!

A peephole in the door would be helpful, as there were several times when someone was knocking on our neighbor's door, and it sounded like ours. Thinking that it was our daughters from across the hallway, I opened the door to a complete stranger while still in my pajamas!

My room was clean and as advertised. The location is a bit far from tourists attractions like the Eiffel tower but close enough to a few metro stations which made moving around the city a lot easier l. There wasn't any noise so I slept peacefully. The staff is friendly so checking in was relatively easy. I was overall happy with my stay there.

However, the elevator can only accommodate one person and hard to fit some of the luggage. It also wasn't working for one of the nights that I spent there.

Great location, great staff, small but great room with great beds and great cleaning staff.

Poor Wi-fi reception in the room.

Lovely spacious room (401) clean, good view of street. Alex, one of the concierge was extremely helpful. All were friendly. Comfortable bed. Fridge , good size, and safe in room. Toilet separate from shower room. We chose to open the window rather than have air conditioning on so a little noisy at night with sirens. Would definitely recommend, very handy for metro, carrefour and places to eat.

Small quibble when room cleaned the tea/ coffee items didn’t get replenished had to go and ask. Toilet being separated from washing facilities wasn’t the best, a small basin would be good.

Staff are friendly even if English is not their first language. They are overall quite helpful with our needs - from travel adapter to checking the cost of a taxi to the airport. The condition of the room also looks better than on photo, not dated at all. Really like that the toilet and shower are separated. Location wise it is perfect, just 1 minute walk from the subway exit, the Pantheon is right around the corner, and we also had a little surprise on our last day that the shooting location of Emily in Paris is just nearby as well!

Wifi is intermittent. Room was stuffy as the A/C fan function didn't work - but it's alright, we just open the window since we're staying on a higher floor.

Proximity to everything. Friendly staff. Clean rooms and facilities. Our room had lovely double doors that let in the beautiful autumnal Paris sunlight. Beautiful vista overlooking the street with the beautiful Parisian apartments that you would expect in the Latin Quarter.

The pillows - like sleeping on rocks. Couldn’t get any different pillows. A Nespresso coffee maker would be handy in the rooms. We stayed 6 nights and didn’t get daily water and only received 2 tea bags a day, would expect more. Needed water glasses or paper cups would be handy.

Helpful friendly staff. Mi Mi was exceptional. Great location within walking distance of restaurants, transportation and tourist attractions. Breakfast charge was half the cost of other hotels we stayed at in Europe. Hotel had been updated since I stayed there in 2019.

When we arrived we were given a great updated room with the exception that it was a double bed. Thanks to the amazing staff they were able to get us an equally great room with twin beds that we had requested.

The front desk people were extremely helpful, especially, Eloise. She went out of her way to help us with directions, maps, finding buses, metro, etc. She was always positive and cheerful. We were at Hotel E. L. for the first 6 days of a 3 week tour of France, and she really stands out as an advertisement for your country. Plus, our French was poor and her English was great. The breakfasts were good, plenty of a wide array of food. Location was good . Facilities very clean. Thank you for a good start to our trip.

Elevator was too small, but, somehow, it added to the ambiance.

Good location near metro station Luxembourg, which was great for us to connect directly to the airport (CDG) and Gare du Nord on RER B, but also easy to transfer to other metro lines to get around and explore the city. Bus stop right outside the hotel as well. Comfortable room and clean, modern looking, and beds comfortable. The windows were excellent for shutting out the noise of street traffic. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and helpful.

The only negative was the shower needs to be resealed and there is a little bit of mould where water goes past the caulking on the wall to the floor. It was fine for us for a few days, but should be fixed.
