Socrates Hotel

Location is great, 2 minutes walk from the Larissa metro station, 15 minutes walk to National Archeological Museum, 1 minute walk from pick up spot for Meteora tours. The room is not too big, but everything is provided - towels, safe, fridge, hair dryer. Very reasonable for its price.

Kettle was missing, I wish there was an option to make your tea or coffee. as I hd early tours and everyhing is closed in the morning. There are not too many supermarkets and places to eat in the area, you need to look for it on a Google map.

Close to Athens train and Larissa metro stations. Very clean hotel. If you just need a clean place to sleep, not fancy, I’d highly recommend it.

Bathroom a bit tiny, but ok.

The shower basin was the smallest I ever seen. You can stand there and pour water from above but you cannot wash your feet without pouring the water all over the bathroom and hall... (it is impossible to bend down and use the curtain at the same time)

Close to metro, relatively close to city center, clean, polite and friendly staff, balcony, mini fridge, nice and warm room, good bed, box for depositing items. You can check out and leave the luggage at the hotel if you want to go on visiting for a few more hours.

The bathroom didn't have a vent for air and we didn't understand why the air conditioner was on.. it was not warming the room not cooling it.. the walls and toilet seat were a bit damaged but for us it wasn't an issue.

The staff in the front counter was really helpful, she started by providing us a detailed explanation of how buses work in Santorini and a timetable of it. She proceed to help us to move to another room when we said the first room that we were allocated has poor connection. She was very helpful and friendly whenever we need so advice of what to do and helping in booking tours/ suggesting possible activities. Breakfast was also very nice and a lot of selection.

Unfortunately, the pool was closed when we visited in early march time which we planned to use.

Excellent hotel to stay for a night or two. It’s just next to train station where train to Thessaloniki departs from. Staff is very friendly and will help you with everything. Room is pretty spacious and I was lucky enough to get a room with a tremendous terrace that had an amazing view on the little park in front of the train station, balconies of nearby buildings and mountains far far away.

The only disadvantage can be probably bathroom which is pretty small and when taking a shower it’s guaranteed that most of the water will end up on the floor, but it’s a minor problem that will probably not matter for a short term stays.

Convenient location near the railway station. Quite stay. Open space view from the balcony.

There was no cafeteria.

Location is wonderful, very close to the Larissa metro station. The staff is very friendly and cooperative. Cleanliness is taken care of. Value for money. Has a small drinks vending machine, which is good for the emergencies. The view of the city from the balcony is amazing.

Old fashioned rooms, but not a big problem!
