Convenient, comfortable sleep, met my need for late arrival back to Athens. Picture attached. Breakfast @ €7,50 per person, was okay. Not a big spread, but adequate. Very close to Athens Central Railway station—about a 5-minute walk down the street. Felt Safe—even when returning to Athens on an evening train. Picture attached. Yellow building, far left is the station.

Bathroom ceiling —paint crackling and peeling on the ceiling. Clearly not adequate ventilation causing damage. Needs repair as rest of room is in good condition. Note: be aware these bathrooms are tiny. A small shower stall with a toilet extremely close to it and a wash basin stand almost immediately in front of toilet. You must be very careful stepping out of the shower, and at night, be careful not to run into the edge of the basin stand as you use the toilet. Very tight — not for anyone with mobility issues, or even large persons. We stayed here on two occasions and bathroom configuration was the same. (First room was a double bed room; second was a twin bed room.). Picture attached.

Very clean, simple room super close to Athens train station and Larissa metro station. Breakfast was simple but tasty. The reception staff was incredibly friendly and even gave us advice for our trip to Naxos!

The fan in the bathroom was very loud and the AC made a high-pitched noise after running for 3-4 minutes.

The location of the hotel is very good! Two minutes walk to the metro stop Larrisa Station and to the supermarket. We needed about 10 minutes to get to the main areas of Athens by metro. There is also a small kiosk nearby where you can buy all sorts of things. Moreover there are also some restaurants nearby. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Julia made our stay very pleasant and always welcomed us warmly. The hotel is very clean and the bed was perfect for us. Also, the air conditioning regulated the room temperature well. Additionally the shower has always worked well and the water temperature is optimal. The breakfast was very tasty.

The only thing that made us a bit uneasy at first was the surroundings because there are more homeless people in this area. In addition, you can see a lot of graffiti there. However, we quickly noticed that the people leave you alone and do not attack, although some locals warned us to pay special attention to our belongings there. Nevertheless, this area has its own charm and we do not regret to have chosen this hotel. Moreover there were police officers at the metro station nearby always.

Convenient, affordable hotel with wonderful staff. We initially booked the Athens Iris hotel because it’s nearby the train station, however it is also really convenient to get there from the airport too. Taking the metro in from the airport you change platforms (and metro lines to the M2) at Syntagma Square station to go to Larissa station (4 stops). Then you walk up from the metro station and the hotel is 200m down the street. Super easy! The hotel is a great price for Athens and you can jump on the metro to go to all the sites easily. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the staff are wonderful! The front desk staff - Julia, Paula and Andreas are the best! So friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us! Staying a bit out of the tourist centre but close enough to walk (40 minutes) meant we discovered some other really cool neighbourhoods enroute, namely Psiri and Exarcheia. Once you have seen the major sites it’s great to get away from the hordes of tourists and see more of real life Athens.

Our stay at the Athens Iris Hotel was great! Julia, the front desk staff, was wonderful. She was welcoming and provided good recommendations regarding restaurants and the city in general. The bed and room were very comfortable and clean. The highlight, though, was the delicious breakfast- a full buffet of American and Greek options. We spent one night here prior to catching the train to Kalabaka. It is highly convenient as it is just down the street from the train station.

We booked this hotel to be closer to the train station, and this hotel meets this criteria as it was just a very short walk across the street (we could see the station and tracks from our window). The neighbourhood is not central to the tourist areas but is easily accessible via the metro. The staff are friendly, and we also liked the breakfast spread. It was varied and delicious. The rooms are clean, beds are comfortable. The hotel looks nice and classy on the exterior, and the internal backs it up.

There is noise from the traffic outside but we expected it, so it is not a deal breaker. We slept through any noise.

The hotel is upgraded and very clean. There’s a breakfast buffet at moderate price that has a little bit of everything. Our AC unit was not working, but they fixed it immediately, turns out that it was not plugged in. The weather was pretty cool so, it was not a big deal. it’s much smaller by American standards, but everything was updated. The sink had a small leak underneath, but it was not a big issue. The hotel is next to the rail terminal so you can hear the train announcements coming and going from 7am…& the motorcycles riding by at night til about 10 ish… there are a few really authentic Greek restaurants near by and close enough to walk. if you walk about 25 minutes you can get to town and get the hop on hop off buses to see the sites and the Grey line let’s off about 20 minutes from the hotel to walk back. The hotel staff is pleasant and accommodating.

Unfortunately the hotel is located in an older area and they are updated. The downtown area, is a little sketchy, but most people keep to themselves.

The hotel was amazing, beyond our expectations. The location was excellent. Athens is a busy city with many cars and not that many parking places, but the hotel had an entire, not that crowded, street where you could park for free, also it was pretty close to the city center and to the main attractions (you could walk or you could take the metro). The room was cozy and modern, with clean sheets and towels. The breakfast was very delicious with a lot of choices from omelets, and vegetables, to cereals and coffee/tea. It was very tasty and good-looking. Although, you should keep in mind that it is served between 7:30 and 10 am, one day we went to eat it at 9:35 and there was not so much food left. The hotel staff was helpful and kind, they tried to solve all of our problems and they were friendly. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would take into consideration coming here again.

There was nothing about the hotel that we didn't like, but there was one thing that annoyed us, the noise. Given the fact that the hotel was close to the train and bus station, it was a lot of noise, even at night. So keep that in mind if you are looking for a silent place, even though the noise was not extremely loud.

The Hotel Iriis is a 5 minute walk to railway station and metro. We selected this hotel as we were arriving and departing from Athens Railway station (Larissa). The hotel is very reasonably priced, as it not in a particularly touristic or lively area. However the metro is very close by and it is a short ride to the centre of Athens. Our room was bright, clean, and comfortable, and corresponded to the price range. The people at reception were helpful with information about local transport etc. The breakfast was what I expected for the price - fresh bread and fruit, yogurt, etc.

Our stay at the Athens Iris Hotel was perfect. Everything in this hotel was super clean, considering that the rooms are cleaned daily and the towels are also being replaced daily. The beds are very comfortable and quite big. For us, another huge advantage was that the hotel is a 3 min walk away from the rail station, which has a direct connection with the airport, as on our last day due to a strike all public transportation were out. From the hotel, there is a direct metro line to the city center, around a 3 min walk.
