Civitel Akali Hotel

The staff are amazing and went out of their way to make our stay truly memorable. Such a welcoming experience The pool is great to lounge around every day and just chill there for hours. The attitude is just can do all the way. Super close to the port (5 minute walk) Housekeeping kept our room spotless, navigating around all our mess. I would definitely stay again. Thanks to the front desk staff just friendly and warm all the way. If you're staying more than a few nights book the poolside rooms as they are nicely quiet.

We had an amazing stay and the staff was incredible from the reception to the cleaning lady to the kitchen staf and the hotel manager. Wow!!! Really glad that people like you exist and make our vacations great. We felt taken care of by all the staff and how they helped us with our little girls was impresive. I will recomend this hotel to anyone who is visiting Chania. Best choice ever and congratulation to all of you. The breakfast was great with lot of options, the bed confortable, two type of pillows one soft and one semi hard, great water pressure in the shower, parking. It was excellet.

We booked 2 rooms for our 1st night because of fully booked and then we had a family room for the next 3 nights which we got 2 connecting rooms (twin bed and double bed) with swimming pool view). The rooms are quite good (modern and clean), the bed matches hotel standard which is really confortable. Hotel's common area could be more modern as well as the swimming pool. The hotel should put a little more effort in decorating the pool area. Like more plants and some decors that could make the ambiance more cosy. The small garden center is right next to the hotel, just saying. The receptionists are friendly, speak good English and always ready to help the guests with smile on their face. However, the breakfast staffs seem to be more stressed. The housekeepers are also really nice and always say hi to us. Thank you for the turn down service. We really appreciated it. Hotel's location is like 10-15 minutes walk to the famous old town. (FYI, beware that the sidewalk isn't really kid friendly and pay more attention when you have to cross the road.) It's also close to the closest beach, like 8 minutes walk. In all, the confy beds, acceptable wifi internet, the staffs, the pool, its location, with the price we paid, we found this hotel is worth staying

Just one thing for that we didn't like is, the orange that have not been rinced nor cleaned for breakfast guests. When we had to cut and put each of them in the squeezer (we had to make it ourselves) the dirt came in the juice. So we decided not to have it anymore during the rest of our stay.

The breakfast was a excellent mix of a great quantity of different dishes, which were able to please every different taste. The products were fresh and tasty. The personnel was kind, communicative and well trained.

I don't think there was something unpleasent during my stay at the hotel.

Fantastic breakfast which you could choose to have on the terrace near the pool, Friendly staff, Unheated but lovely little pool in garden. The service was very good. Beds were comfortable and really nice bathrooms. A short walk to a lovely beach and to the city centre

Something needed repairing in my room and it never got fixed and it involved a screw sticking out of the skirting so a bit of a hazard The quality of room service food was not good. Otherwise no complaints

Location is great and stuff is super friendly. Close to the beach and city center with free parking. Bed was big and very comfy and renovated rooms are new and clean.

Street can be very busy and nosiy but they have blinds that helps. But if you don't prefer sleeping with blinds it can be noisy

Comfortable rooms and a good breakfast. Walking distance from the old town and the city beach.

The pool area was very small and although the pool was nice, there was only chairs in the shadow. So not good for sunbathing. The immediate area around the hotel was like a business disctrict, but then again only 10min walk to the old town.

Amazing beds, slept so well! Hotel is right in the old harbour, 10 minutes walk to the shopping district with amazing leather products and jewellery. Reception was super friendly at all hours, helpful with recommendations for restaurants to go for meze. There is also a small gym that was a very welcome workout after a few days of holidays, our room was actually just next to the gym so it was super easy. Luxurious products - bath robe, slippers provided, olive oil shampoo and soap. Super impressed. Enough sockets, we also had a socket plug for U.K.-EU in the room not sure if that is a standard or someone had forgotten but came in handy anyway. Free parking in front of the hotel. Breakfast was of great standard, appreciated the fresh orange juice machine and fresh olive oil too. Overall super impressed at the price point and enjoyed our overnight stay!

The bedroom we got was so nice, a very comfy bed, a spacious toilet and we also enjoyed the breakfast buffet. What we liked best though was the staff recommendations, especially I have to mention Stella’s help.

The staff were great, so nice and helpful. The hotel itself was in great condition and looked better than the photos suggested. The team kindly upgraded us to a room with a balcony which was great and the location was perfect - right in the middle of Chania's best beach Nea Chora (7 mins), and the old town (10 mins).

The pool was a little smaller than I thought and was in shade for most of the day which was a shame, so didn't get much tanning done, still a nice garden area though. Also the main road the hotel was on was quite busy sometimes so could be difficult to cross, but was mostly fine.
