Gullane's Hotel

I liked the fact my room was ready when I arrived and was pleasant the receptionist was very kind and carried my bags and took me up to the room, also she arranged for me to have a sandwich in my room as I was tired, she booked me into the restaurant for dinner, and it too was pleasant and I had a nice meal, without having to go out. I liked that I was able to make tea in my room. Breakfast started at 7.30 am, so I was able to make an early start, the breakfast was also good. My car would not start but there was a hotel handy man in the carpark who looked like a wizard with a long flowing grey beard. My car magically started for him! So all in all a good stay..

Had a very good one night stay here and the service and welcome from the staff at reception was really good and couldnt have been better and more accomodating. They knew I was travelling by motorbike and ensured that I had somewhere secure to leave my bike overnight - in fact one of the ladies from reception took the time out to show me where to leave my bike and make sure everything was OK. My room was a good size, clean and tidy and with a decent shower in the bathroom. The bar and restaurant area on the ground floor were really convenient and the service and food/drink I had in there was all good. Breakfast was plentiful and with decent service as well. All in all a good saty

There was nothing about my accomodation that I didn't like, it was all good and met my expectations, and with good communciations from my booking to my arrival. I cant really comment about the town itself as I was just there for one night as it was on my route and so didnt spend time exploring the town.

Great room, very good and attentive staff and a lovely atmosphere throughout the property. The room was spacious and equipped with all the typical traveller needs for a good night's stay. There is a large on-site car park which is free to use. The hotel is centrally located in the town and convenient for all that Ballislone has to offer. Breakfast was good and plentiful to help get the day off to a good start.

The dinner menu was a little disappointing with insufficient choice of meals for our family group. Those who did dine however were very satisfied with the food served.

This is an amazing place. We stayed here en route to Dublin. it is a great family run hotel. We met the owner at dinner. The food is great, craic very homely. Having stayed in loads of places across Ireland I would have to say this is the best! Our friends told us Ballinasloe was crap...what rubbish. Wonderful dinner choice and freshly cooked breakfast. Stay here! Free parking. Old style classic Irish town hotel, So good! We will be back here. Well done all of you. Michael.

The staff and the service at this hotel was nothing short of exceptional. The meals and breakfast were of a very high quality and very nice, the location of the hotel was great. The rooms were very well appointed and very quiet.

There is absolutely nothing we could fault with this hotel. Perhaps the only thing would be the taste of the coffee as it was quite bitter, but coffees do vary from place to place.

Tomás and Caroline and wonderful staff could not do enough for us. A lovely homely feeling the minute we walked in. A spotless cosy cot ready for my daughter in the room without having to ring down to reception which often happens in other hotels we have stayed in.The shower was exceptional and there was plenty of extra pillows and towels. Fintan the manager was always on hand and had time to chat as were the girls serving a lovely breakfast. Dinner and lunch was also hot and delicious! Thank you all at Gullanes and continued success! We will be back.

The staff was amazing, friendly and professional. The dinning facilities were fantastic. The dinners and breakfasts were excellent. Fastest service we experienced on our entire trip. The pub was wonderful and cozy. Parking and access easy and simple.

The rooms were great, however, airflow and stuffiness were an issue that made it difficult to sleep. The windows did not open much. We do understand that it does take some time for foreign travels to adjust to the climate. A room fan would be a big improvement.

Fabulous hotel, lovely staff who were all very friendly and welcoming. The food at this hotel is excellent, we ate in the hotel both evenings and the breakfast was superb. Our room was spacious and very clean with plenty of extra pillows should you need them. Tea and coffee in the room along with an iron and ironing board which is an excellent added bonus.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff from start to finish. A warm welcome at reception, great service at the bar and throughout dinner then a fantastic service at breakfast! Room was well laid out comfortable warm and clean. Good size rooms with everything required on hand

No negative comments apart from the car park being difficult to find initially but a great size when there

We received a warm and friendly welcome by the staff, efficient and informative. The price was exceptional so we were surprised to get what we got for the money. Breakfast was for me the best I've had for a very long time. I'm used to getting a very basic hot breakfast when i ask for a vegetarian option. The kitchen went above and beyond. We spent a very enjoyable few hours in the bar where we were served by Niamh with a smile and good banter. This hotel doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't. It's clean, comfortable, friendly. Good food and an unbelievable price for what you get

There is no lift, or we were not informed of one which would be a drawback for some. However it could be that we just weren't told about it so I would recommend asking.
