Maldron Hotel & Leisure Centre, Oranmore Galway

Great selection of food at breakfast every morning. The staff were friendly and helpful. Lovely, big swimming pool.

The games room is advertised as being open daily until 9:15 pm. My 8 year old wanted to play on Sunday evening at 8:30 pm only to be told that the game room is closed at 8:45 pm. No apology from the staff at the pool. My little boy was very upset.

The Maldron Hotel & Leisure Centre, Oranmore is a pure gem. Our first impressions were very positive when the reception staff were able to change our room allocation because we had arrived early. The room we were to have was not ready. This was not a problem to Meida. In a blink of an eye she had another room allocated to us. The room was excellent, large and roomy with a nice sized ensuite. Though on a busy roundabout the noise level was quite acceptable. We were being joined by family for dinner later. We could not be guarenteed seating for nine adults in the bar but no fear Karyn the dining room manager set aside a table in the dining room even though the restaurant is generally not opened on Saturday. This was very successful, as with a family gathering we were a noisy bunch with several conversations going on at the same time. Problem solved.

When we completed an online check-in, the drop down menu options for arrival began at 4.00pm. We would have preferred an earlier time. Hence when we arrived at 3.00pm we were told we were too early. Could these options be changed slightly. The bar prices seemed a bit pricier than the norm. A glass of Sauvignon Blanc at €8.50 and a pint of Carlsberg at €6.90 is a wee bit saucy.

Late check in. I explained to the lady that my husband and daughter would be there. Running late as they out sea fishing for my daughters 12th birthday that day. She turned 12 that day and also caught the biggest fish. The lady said her father also a fisherman. When my husband and Aimee arrived the lady not only congratulated my daughter on her big catch, she also wished her a Happy birthday. Big respect for this lady behind the phone call. She went above her duty to even remember what I had said and remembered her birthday 🎂. It's always the little things that matter. I can't remember the ladies name but the phone call was made at 19.01. Thank you to this wonderful lady. Its the 1st thing Aimee said to me when she phoned me after checking in 💕💕

The bar and restaurant has a good selection of food and drinks. The room was clean and comfortable, check in was welcoming. The room contained robes, chocolates and slippers. Linen was clean. It was perfect for a romantic gateway to Galway. Good parking too.

Nothing I didn't like. However bathroom sink was filled with dirty water with hairs in it so the cleaner must have forgotten to drain it. Shower is very slippery so be careful - there's signage in the bathroom for this. Also the room was extremely hot that summer night - it felt like the heating was on

The pool was amazing, the room was clean and nice. The place was clean and the staff friendly. The food was very nice.

The price of room was fair enough for the time of year but it was only for one adult and a child. The price of the food and alcohol was extortionate. Food was very nice but very over priced. €22 for a small bowl of plain pasta and a half slice of garlic bread and a very small bowl chips. A pint of beer and a glass of coke was €10.60. Makes it very hard to stay in Irish hotels when things like that are so expensive.

Staff were ecxellent and very attentive. Very relaxed atmosphere for family. 3min walk around the corner was roots cafe- excellent breakfast and busy bees ball pit.great fun for kids. Hotel Swimming pool was brilliant and eyre square was only 14min drive with parking cheap approx 2.40/hr in the town. Room was very spacious.

Heating in room wasnt working but they gave us a portable heater which was perfect and the staff were quick to respond. My mam and I had pizza and chips.wasnt great. Chips too salty - I'd have rathered none. Husband had lamb shank and thought was lovely.he also ate a bit of my pizza and though was ok so could be a preference thing.

We had a family room and it was a great size. It was clean and tidy !!The staff were very friendly from cleaning to the bar people they couldn't do enough for us. I asked for a room near the lift because I'm disabled and I could literally see it from the door.. We'd a good stay thanks ..

It's a bit dated in places we were in a family room and it had a small TV which you couldn't watch in places and the beds are way too hard !! The quilt covers had holes in them ..

Evening meal was nice. Breakfast first morning wasn't great, little left to choose from, from the peak time. We got down with 30 mins left at the Breakfast time. Evening meal 2nd night was great too. Fantastic service, friendly staff. Breakfast 2nd morning was much much better however we did go down much earlier. Late checkout was good. Would have been nice to know about the construction works before booking however that was finished by the time we got back on 2nd evening. I'm trying to provide honest feedback. We had a lovely stay and would book again. None of the negatives really affected us (just being honest).

Day staff seemed stressed in the cafe. Trying to serve more than 1 customer at a time. Maybe need more staff at peak times. Construction on the reception. Very dark car park and signs to reception invisible in the dark. 1 of the beds in the family suite was very squeaky.

The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The children's playground was brilliant. The pool was great

We have a 2 year old son and a 4 year old daughter. The 2 year old is lively to say the least!! We had dinner in the bar on the 2nd night with a couple of drinks and then we moved outside to the seated area....which was perfect. But then it got dark and a little cold. We would have liked to be able to stay downstairs for another couple of drinks but I didn't want to be in the bar...other people were eating and as I said my son is lively!! The seats in the Foyer area were all in use. More seats there would be good...or an area where families can relax after dinner

Breakfast: excellent! We did appreciate typical irish and local products (irish breakfast, yogurt). Rooms are big and clean (see "-" below). Very nice and always willing to help staff in reception, swimming pool and the restaurant. Everybody are very friendly, especially Kairan (breakfast area).

We had a family room with 3 beds: two single and 1 double. The double bed was too narrow. In bathroom there are no "consumables": makeup remover pads, cotton buds. Hand soap is situated very high, so kids need help to use it. Overall, the hotel needs some renovation. Personally, we do not appreciate a carpet on the room's flour. It's more hygienic to have parquet.
