Anner Hotel

The place itself is lovely, a 10 minute walk from the train station Room Clean and nicely appointed. Tea/Coffee facilities Heating Breakfast Hybrid Buffet / Service Hot food is ordered from the table - full Irish was excellent, best rashers I've had in a hotel Buffet was also very good, pastries and cold meats etc, with a surprisingly excellent selection of cheeses! Not just the usual single slices of generic cheese, there were soft and blue cheeses also Dinner The Dinner was terrific, I had black pudding starter and duck main and both were terrific. My wife and daughter similarly enjoyed their meals, the staff were very friendly and just the right level of attentive. The set menu is fantastic value for the quality of the food - would recommend

For a 4-Star hotel, I think the room should have had ironing facilities and also robes and slippers for the pool. There was a GAA dance that night and people were partying in the corridors, parking lot etc until around 3am which significantly impacted our sleep

Fine, bacon too thick for our liking, personal preference! Service a tad eratic, asked 3 times or not at all. We got the impression from the waiting on staff that personnel were mainly just training, therefore came to conclusion that they are from catering or hotel management college!

Housekeeping was inconsistent, cups washed one day and not the next, times visited eratic.

Staff where fantastic nothing to much trouble they held are bags before we could check in they called us taxi when needed. As we had stayed there a few times before they asked what time we where checking out as they could do breakfast early. I explained we had an evening flight so they gave us an hour and half later check out for free. All the place was done lovely for Christmas

They stoped serving bar good at 8.30pm even though I asked twice and was told 10.30pm so we where unale to get food for kids and there was no where local openanf we did not drive.

The Anner Hotel is a quaint country hotel. I would love to return in winter with the fires burning and the candles lit. Just the place to sit back and enjoy a brandy and port.The waiters routine at the wedding top table was impressive to say the least. It certainly turned heads. The food was excellent . Breakfast had waiter service .Such a rarity except in top class hotels.

The carpet on the stairs had seen better days but this did not take away from our stay.

We enjoyed everything about the hotel! The staff were so friendly and helpful in every part of the hotel. The room was comfortable and well decorated. The lounge and lobby areas are beautifully done and the gardens and pool were used by us everyday and were great features of the hotel. We used the hotel as a base to explore which worked well but also ate from the hotel restaurant and some lovely local restaurants - as well as enjoying the impeccable afternoon tea at the the hotel. All in all, a fantastic stay!

This hotel was friendly, clean not super modern (I personally love that) although the bathrooms where newly refurbished the best thing about this hotel was its staff. They were superb from the minute we walked into the hotel they were all lovely and went over and above every time. the food in the restaurant was Devine

Nothing we were happy with our stay. If I had to be super picky the only thing I would change would be that curtains in our room were not fully blackout but it did not affect our stay at all.

The staff were very friendly and the hotel leisure centre was very nice. We all liked the rooms and bar area. Good location.

Very boring menu for vegetarian/vegan options - vegetable stirfry or vegetable curry. As 3 of us prefer these options we went out into town for dinner instead. No oatmilk. Some of the paintwork is a bit tired especially in the leisure area around the doors.

Very nice and comfortable room; convenient car park, and great value for the money. Over a 10 day holiday and staying at 4 different hotels, this was the nicest one. Outside of walking distance to city center so a little mark down on that aspect, but to the contrary, it did have a car park which is a great convenience with a car hire.

. Really lovely hotel, old fashioned but lovely decor.we attended for a family wedding & had 2 rooms. Room was lovely with a view of the town, very comfortable bed & a great shower. Outside tables were welcome, & lovely gardens . The staff were ALL exemplary, very helpful & courteous , went above & beyond . Lovely big piping hot breakfast, & nice choice served in great time . Would highly recommend this gem of a hotel

On the positive side, food was delicious( breakfast and dinner) and staff very pleasant. Nothing special about the Leisure Centre. A pool, sauna and a very dirty hot tub.

First of all, I wouldn't rate this hotel as a 4 star hotel, not with the old and squeaky furniture. The bathroom in the room was an absolute mess, with rust and limescale everywhere. Honestly, we've stayed in 3 star hotels looking better then this one.
