Hayes Hotel

The bedroom was really nice , decor beautiful, hot breakfast was very good. Also ate in the bar at night and food was gorgeous. Free car park is great, we had gone out to visit people on 2nd night stay, got back after midnight and staff were so quick to open carpark gate once I phoned.

Bit difficult that there was no lift and shower was in the bath. Buffet for cereals, juice etc would be a good idea, but could keep hot food to order. A lot of noise from pub/disco /liberty Square as Sat night but to be fair, website/ confirmation email does mention this. Ear plugs provided were a good idea but didn't have to use them and got to sleep. For anyone getting back late to carpark,there should be signage with the reception phone number to ring.

the staff in the hotel reception are excellent and went out of their way to welcome me. The restaurent staff are so helpful and don,t just take your order and deliver the food but treat you as a friend they know all their lives and this make a holiday so much better. I am used to getting the bare minium from restaurant staff. I loved the bedroom both its size and the furniture. The shower was so powerful and the shower cubicle had plenty of space instead of the usual cramped ones.

The only thing i did not like was that I did not book a longer holiday.

Location is great. It's just a short stroll to the shopping centre and is only a few minutes from the train station and Semple Stadium. Staff were friendly qnd welcoming and helped make it an enjoyable trip. Cusacks Basr is well worth a visit, with great service and excellent food. Also the breakfast was fab too.. My room window overlooked the street which gave me a great view of the St. Patrick's Day parade without having to leave the comfort of my room. The room had an old world feel in Modern decor and just added to the overall experience. I didn't have high expectations coming in but left with nothing but positive memories and can't wait to return in the future

The noise from the parities/discos downstairs was a little loud but you get used to it. Everything else was perfect

Amazing historic hotel on the main square. The staff was very helpful and our room was clean and spacious. The location is fantastic with all the restaurants and pubs just steps away from the front door and free parking in the rear of the hotel. Great hotel!

The only issue was the loud music and noise coming from a party in the nightclub behind the hotel. Luckily, the nightclub closed t 11pm and everything was quiet for the rest of the evening.

While trying to find hotels and not B&Bs near the Rock of Cashel (frustratingly thin on the ground), I tripped over Hayes and took a chance on their family room including breakfast. The room was comfortable but a bit cold and the bathroom could do with an update. Nevertheless I enjoyed our stay and the people could not have been nicer. Breakfast was superb. I would definitely stay again.

Radiator in the room did not work so was the wrong side of chilly but not entirely uncomfortable. Bathroom needs an update. Car park could do with tidying up but was serviceable. It is a nice little hotel in the older Irish town hotel style. Well worth a look.

We booked the only suite that Hayes' Hotel has onsite. We had been upgraded before due to a number of bad service experiences so we knew what to expect.

The price. Also, a fridge and safe would not go amiss in the suite. the rest of the hotel is in bad need of an upgrade. Some rooms are tiny and the windows are so unsafe for smaller guests. If you tumbled at the window, you could come to your end on the road outside and the window ledge was unstable to make it even worse in that room with the window on the floor.

Excellent rooms with everything needed. A large comfortable bed with good quality furniture, lighting etc. Lovely new and generously proportioned shower room. The bar menu was varied and standard of food excellent. All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming, which is a big thing.

Sadly, the hotel is not wheelchair accessible or very easy for people with reduced mobility There is no lift and there are no rooms on the ground floor. Rooms on the upper floors are not very close to the front of the hotel with several levels to navigate.

We chose to stay in Thurles to avoid some of the pricier options in the more tourist-friendly Kilkenny. The Hayes is beautiful and conveniently centered in the town square, with a nice private car lot behind the building. The receptionist was friendly and well-prepared for our arrival, and our rooms were clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable, and the bathroom was large with great amenities. The full Irish breakfast was excellent and featured fresh-baked pastries.

While the historic nature of the building adds some flavor to the stay, it also adds to some discomfort. The hallways are disjointed, and the floors are uneven. There was no elevator. There are no fans or A/C units, and between our two rooms, the windows were inconsistent in size and utility. Additionally, if you stay on the weekend when the outdoor bar/nightclub is in operation, prepare to bring some earplugs!

Comfortable room though rather small. The bed was huge for a single. Parking was convenient and free, and the breakfast was plentiful and really set me up for the day.

The bathroom fan was very noisy and linked to the lighting. I was woken up by my neighbours using the bathroom in the room next door so better sound proofing would really help.

A very charismatic hotel. Very homely feels especially while travelling alone. Staff made me feel so welcomed and at ease. Went out of there way to make conversations as they noticed I was alone dining. Well done to management.

No pool onsite. They do have use of the local leisure centre which is only down the road
