Zuni Hotel

Staying at Zuni has been a highlight of our visit to Ireland. I was travelling with my 85year-old mum who is blind and quite deaf. My father, her husband of 65 years, died a year ago last week so the visit to Ireland, and particularly the counties of Kilkenny and Carlow, the home of her ancestors before the Great Famine, was an important distraction. Your welcoming staff, ideal location and excellent service was exactly what we needed. Thank you. We look forward to recommending you to anyone plans a visit to Ireland.

This may be the first review I have ever written in which I have nothing to criticise. It is most out of character for me not to find something to grizzle about.

A really enjoyable stay. This hotel is proof that in any business it is your people, your staff, that are your greatest asset. This is so true here, the staff here are all exceptional and a total credit to the place. Out stay here was one of the finest examples of great customer service that we have come across and it is all down to the people working here. Everything else is secondary. And, by the way, "everything else" was great too. A lovely comfortable room and a superb location. Breakfast in the cafe bar to the front was outstanding and again it was the people there that made it special. Great!

Zuni was beautiful and classy. The bedroom was lovely, the bar was romantic and cosy with lovely cocktails 😍, the food in the restaurant was amazing, in particular the sea bass 😍 Really lovely food very well presented. And the restaurant itself was lovely, with excellent service. Whenever I was there the restaurant was booming! Top class - beautiful! 😍 As someone who eats out a lot and stays in hotels regularly I was especially impressed by the food not only in the restaurant but the breakfast menu which was delivered to my bedroom each morning - pancakes, and smoked trout with poached eggs, hollandaise sauce on a muffin. Amazing!! But the best part about my stay were the staff. From beginning to end the staff were lovely. Restaurant staff, bar staff, night porters, receptionists, all really friendly and accommodating no matter what I asked for. They all made my stay 😊 I really enjoyed staying in Zuni, and in Kilkenny which is a really lovely friendly city 😊😍

When we arrived we were unsure where the parking was, the friendliest receptionist gave us directions over the phone, welcomed us with a big smile and had us checked in in minutes. The smell in the elevator was gorgeous, I’m still kicking myself I didn’t ask what it was. The room was immaculate, in fact the whole hotel was immaculate. The room was spacious and modern, the bed was so comfortable and even the little touches like a coffee machine in the room was lovely. More often than not when I book a hotel I book the cheapest option and when it’s not great I remind myself it was cheap, well Zuni was the cheapest option and it far exceeded my expectations. Even down to we the fact we didn’t book dinner and just chanced our arms to get food in the restaurant that was clearly full and they had left a table for residents. We were seated straight away and the food was absolutely gorgeous. I couldn’t commend the staff enough.

I have zero complaints.

Zuni has one of the city's best restaurants, so I selected an overnight stay. The room was spacious with a comfy bed and an excellent shower. I especially liked the option of three pillow types (memory, thin and thick) for everyone's needs. On top of that, the room was super warm, as the heating was on all night, and that was one of the coldest nights in Ireland. The staff was super kind and helpful and made you feel very welcome, while the breakfast was served a la carte in their restaurant, so that's another bonus. I had one of my fav options salmon benedict and a latte, which is another bonus, as most of the hotels serve only black coffee.

The hotel parking is hard to find. It's located on a short street coming from Ormonde st. beside Ormonde Hotel. I had to park on the road and ask personnel for instructions, which was inconvenient. I advise sending the parking instructions to anyone who books the parking place.

Beautiful hotel, excellent location. Very clean. Staff were lovely and friendly. Rooms were really nice, bed was comfy and they had a hard and soft pillow which was good to be able to choose what you would like. Cleaning staff gave us a bottle of ice cold water when they were cleaning which was a nice touch. Bar is lovely real modern.

Lift was out of order but we had received a call before arrival to advise of this. There are two floors so not alot of stairs

Great location, amazing staff, on site excellent restaurant and bar plus the best breakfast possible. An added bonus is that the hotel is just a very short walking distance from the Ormond Street bus stop from the direct Dublin Airport bus lines and to and from other cities. Super handy and made airport arrival and departure to our next destination very easy and stress free. Check out time of noon also allowed us more time before our departure.

The room was really beautiful. Although there was no air conditioning, the staff brought up a fan for us. The parking was free and the included breakfast was exceptional. It was in a perfect location within walking distance to wonderful bars, restaurants, and the Kilkenny Castle.

Staff seemed genuinely happy to welcome us for our stay.Absolutely loved it. Friendly staff and a great welcome. comfortable and spotlessly clean. Great value for money for a gem in the center of the city. Our room was homely yet the decor is a contemporary style. I would definitely recommend this gem to my friends.. We didn't get to eat at their restaurant downstairs as it was fully booked , it came highly recommended by everyone we asked so next time it's a must for us. Great breakfast included with our stay. It was also lovey to see many local people arrive for coffee in the morning, all who were greeted by name by the friendly staff. We would stay there again and recommend it to my friends . Its a well run gem in the city centre.

The location of the Zuni was excellent - very close to the lovely downtown shops and sights such as the Castle. Our first night in an Irish pub which was just steps away included lively Irish music. The Zuni Hotel food was outstanding both at breakfast but especially at dinner. Our host Shane was very very helpful with excellent suggestions for places to visit in the town as well. Our rooms were lovely - well appointed with all the comforts.
