Kilcoran Lodge Hotel & Leisure Centre

The staff were so welcoming and helpful in so many ways. The room was lovely, overlooking the garden, and on ground level which suited my mobility issues. The bed was very comfortable and supportive and the room was very soundproof. TV and kettle in the room. Breakfast was superb a huge choice on the menu. Dinner food was very good - they have a very good chef.

I would have preferred if the dinner was served in the dining room. The bedside lamps were too dim to read which necessitated using the main room light for reading. The outer facade could do with update in paint.

The friendly staff were helpful at recommending places to visit such as the Mitchelstown Cave, the Cahir Castle with directions to the walk behind the Castle to the Swiss cottage. Bonus, fairy trail paralleled the trail to the cottage! The cave, the Castle and the cottage were a perfect morning tour experience. The hotel receptionist also suggested the Lava Brew for lunch-yummy! This hotel was formerly a hunting lodge for the castle keep family, the Butlers. The property manager had helpful directions to hike in the Glengarra Millenial Forest at the foot of the Galtee Mountains a couple miles down the road, and directions to “The Vee” a reference to the bend in the road up to the lake at the base of a “V” formation in the Knockmealdown Mountains accessed from a twisty Irish road to Clogheen, about a 30 minute drive from the hotel. From “The Vee” one can see the magnificent countryside between the Knockmealdow Mts with the Galtee Mountains in the distance. Wonderful visit with a nice balance between sightseeing and enjoying the beautiful Irish outdoors!!

The Lodge is very comfortable, staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and big. The leisure centre is lovely, the pool is small but clean. The pool showers weren't the best but we just showered in our room. It was a really comfortable stay and good value with a great breakfast included. The bar menu was also lovely. It's close to Glengarra woods and the Mitchelstown Cave which are worth exploring. Very close to Cahir and Cashel.

Very beautiful place. The family room was really two rooms with a connecting door which was quite nice. The food was also good.

It wasn't the point of my visit, but the leisure center doesn't look at all like the picture in the description! The kids enjoyed it, though.

The staff were very attentive and really looked after us and our kids. We really liked that we were put into a two room bedroom so that the kids had their own space. The food was incredible.

Our bedroom door looked like it needed a bit of repair, and the toilet seat folded back over whenever you sat down.

Such a lovely hotel, beautiful setting and felt so homely. Fab family rooms with amazing space! The staff went above and beyond when we said we would miss breakfast on the day of departure due to a very early flight and made food and fresh coffees for us when we left the hotel at half 6 in the morning. I would 100% recommend it and would love to stay again.

I could not speak more highly of Kilcoran Lodge. Liam on staff MADE my Ireland trip. I was a bit nervous being sojourned in a rural area without a car, but the staff was an immense help finding me taxi/transport to the nearby towns. Everyone was so friendly and very interested in sharing stories and chatting about Ireland! The restaurant is also quite nice, which was all part of the incredibly well-rounded stay at the Kilcoran Lodge!

Staff were friendly. Nice old style room with 4-poster bed. Breakfast was lovely. Bar food was ok and reasonably priced

Squeaky bed. Squeaky floor. Almost impossible to regulate temperature of shower. Small gym n pool that only opened late at 9am. Could only get a few TV stations

Loved #15 room, so big & bright with it being a corner room with windows on 3 walls, fab view of the mountains,huge bathroom, bed super comfy,slept great, had fish n chips,hubby had chicken curry - we both loved our meals, breakie was wonderful ❣️❣️❣️a gem of a place, very relaxing & peaceful

Staff was so friendly and helpful. Give me and my boyfriend so many suggestions on what to visit and what to do and were always interested on what we visited that day. All of the bar staff especially Sean and the manager were amazing! Made us feel right at home, and were always ready to bring another Guinness other when needed. We laughed so hard with them. Freshly cooked breakfast every morning was a real delight. Overall the facilities, staff and location was excellent and haven't stopped telling friends and family about the place . The views from the hotel were amazing.
