I Portici Hotel Bologna

Hotel staff were very friendly and available at midnight to provide us with a welcome and check in. The location of the hotel is excellent, just a 5 minute walk to the centre. The room was comfortable and well heated (we stayed in December).

The bathroom had no hand soap and we had no view/proper window as it was a small window by the ceiling. For the price we paid, I would have expected better.

great hotel - great people - great location. We did have some troubles with the heating and street noise, but that's solvable.

Very nice hotel at a central spot. Very professional personal. Well equipped. High quality breakfast. Excellent restaurants in-house.

Soap/Foam for washing hands empty. Shower gel empty. Shampoo empty. Cosmetic tissues empty. We would expect that this is controlled before presenting the room key to the customer. The floor in the center of the room was damaged. It had a big bubble of air underneath. It felt like walking on the moon. We would expect that this is something that is solved quickly by a craftsman. At this type of hotel personal should notice such a defect and get it fixed quickly.

The restaurant: we chose the hotel because of its one star Michelin restaurant. It's absolutely worth every euro for tasting menu and wines (and if you can spend a bit more, choose the location in tremendous former ice cellar). Great ingredients, master cooking and phenomenal service. Hotel is located in historic place, the stylish rooms look great in pics though are a bit outdated and patina covered; the new rooms where we landed are modern, super convenient and brand new. Another thing is location: close to railway station and main street, everything in Bologna in 20 minutes walk reach. Great place to stay while in Bologna for few days

It's not about disliking - the breakfasts served are decent, less Italian and more continental, but one would expect more local quality food. And beware of one thing: hotel is close to one of largest parks in Bologna (largest, but still pretty small)... on weekend evenings full of people attending the concerts (and while they might be loud, hotel takes proper care for them to be ended before midnight ;))

Our overnight stay at the I Portici got off to a great start because on arrival we were upgraded from a standard to a de luxe room with balcony by the hotel. The city centre location, friendly staff, and good facilities and cleanliness helped to make our Bologna experience memorable.

Sound of heavy footsteps late at night and early morning above our room - we can’t ever remember that happening in a hotel. The hotel bar area was small and nothing special - although I’m sure it must be lovely in the summer. It would have been nice not to have had to pay for pretty much everything other than instant coffee, tea and basic toiletries. There was no free bottled water or snacks - we aren’t used to that. Everything other than the bare minimum in hotel room had a price tag and those additional items were displayed in the bathroom and bedroom with the price list alongside them. It felt a bit stingy when paying £540 for 3 nights with no breakfast.

Beautiful and super clean. Great location- between train station and Piazza Maggiore.

The room I stayed in was rather sterile looking. But it was a decent size and was very quiet. But I needed to work and the desk was too small and they very stupidly glued down a thick tv instruction label to the area on the desk one would normally use for mousing. It renders the desk almost useless. Please put those instructions on the wall and not on the desk.

I wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks to the exceptional staff at your hotel. During my recent stay, I accidentally left my AirPods in my room. Using the "Find My" app, I found my AirPods in a far from the hotel, where they clean the hotel stuf. After a day of anxious waiting, my friend, who was staying nearby, was able to pick them up thanks to your team's diligence. I can't express how grateful I am for the incredible effort your staff put into helping me retrieve my belongings. It's not just about the lost AirPods; it's about the exceptional service and genuine care that your team showed. Thank you once again for your outstanding service. I will definitely be returning to your hotel in the future, not just for the beautiful accommodations but also for the wonderful people who work there.

This is a perfect combination of a modern hotel and Italian tradition and art. The hotel is beautiful and it is perfectly located : 10 min walk from the Central station and 10 min from the historic center. Just next to the hotel there is a park. The breakfast was very good, perhaps it would be just nice to have some more vegetables, but there is a wide selection : bread, ham, salmon, cheese, scrambled eggs, yoghurts, cornflakes, cornetto , cakes, friuts / coffee/ tea/ juices. Besides the breakfast room is beautifully designed. The staff is very professional and attentive, espescially compliments for the staff in the Osteria/Pizzeria. The hotel room was beautiful and very clean. Also thank you to the hotel service for fulfilling the special request!

Our room and the communal areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean and smelt lovely! The air conditioning was excellent. The decor of our room was very modern and stylish. We liked it a lot. Great toiletries, a nice reception area. It's also well located, not too far from the station (although still a hot walk in August) and an easy walk to the main attractions. Plenty of shopping, food and drink options too.

Our only small criticism would be that we had to ask for our drinks order 3 times while we had dinner one night. But otherwise we could find no reason for complaint.
