Hotel Metropolitan

The location is excellent, so close to many of the main sights and there are restaurants aplenty in this area. Also an easy walk to the train station for a day trip to Verona. Especially loved the decor in the public areas. The breakfast is outstanding, many choices and beautifully presented. I required a gluten free breakfast as I’m coeliac. This was no problem at all, I was given 2 types of bread, biscuits muesli and other treats in addition to eating being from the main bThe hotel booked a taxi to the airport as we checked out and it came promptly. Each member of staff were excellent and couldn’t do enough for you. We’d highly recommend this hotel.

Drinks in the roof garden terrace were a bit on the expensive side but did come with olives, cheese, bruschetta and crisps.

very comfy bed and pillow good air conditioning lovely shower plenty storage. very good reception staff. note we were in the Metz apartments . Porter showed us the way and helped with luggage. Apartment great location. shame we didnt cook one day as we found some lovely food shops

we were on the third floor I had to visit the upstairs apartment and very politely let them know the noise was travelling. although this went well, a person was up most of the night before we travelled home and they did not answer the bell that time.

The location was excellent. The room was spacious and very clean. The towels were plentiful and were lovely and white and changed each day if required. The roof terrace was a nice addition albeit the drinks were quiet expensive. The staff on reception were very smart and friendly.

Although there were coffee and tea making facilities. There were only 2 small sachets of coffee on arrival ( enough for one cup each ) which were never replace during our 4 nights. We had to ask each day for coffee and were handed only two each time. Also be warned you are charged 40 euros city tax on checking out . This is not included in the room charge.

The location was great! The hotel is located in an alley off a great street full of shops and food. It is a short walk to the train station and easy to get to. The hotel was very clean! We had a family room, and it was great for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids 17 & 10) - lots of room and the bathroom was huge! The breakfast was great lots of options!

The bunk bed was a little bit small and uncomfortable for our 17-year-old son who is tall. He slept on the bottom bunk while our 10 yr daughter slept on the top bunk. The top bunk was suitable for our daughter but not sure I would have trusted it to hold our son.

The owner of the hotel Claudio was incredibly helpful, providing us with excellent recommendations for local attractions and ensuring my every need was met. The restaurant staff was attentive and friendly, always willing to accommodate special requests. Their dedication to making my stay enjoyable was evident in every interaction. It's clear that the team here takes great pride in providing top-notch service. Cleanliness (★★★★★): Cleanliness is paramount when choosing a place to stay, especially during these times, and this hotel certainly didn't disappoint. The entire property, including my room, was immaculate. I felt safe and comfortable throughout my stay, thanks to the rigorous cleaning protocols in place. In summary, my weekend stay at this hotel in Bologna, Italy, was nothing short of exceptional.

Location excellent, between train station and historic centre, very convenient for tourist spots and many lovely places to eat. Room very clean and great housekeeping. Comfortable bed. Staff very welcoming, particularly at breakfast. Roof top bar is a wonderful treat - expensive, but great views above the city and some complimentary snacks.

Room was smaller and darker than I expected. Situated at the front of the hotel with not much natural light. I was disappointed knowing that other rooms in the hotel faced onto a courtyard or terrace, and photos showed rooms that seemed larger and more airy. Shower was dated. No safe or ironing board in room. No drawers or cupboards for clothes, just a clothes rail with a few hangers. Had to live out of our suitcases for the duration of the stay. Breakfast room, and it is a room not a restaurant, is way too small to cope with the numbers of guests. Breakfast items are displayed in a narrow corridor which is also the entrance to the room, so the footfall makes it awkward to browse and choose. It’s not a relaxing or enjoyable experience, recommend having breakfast at a nearby cafe instead.

The location of the hotel was excellent. The room was very clean and serviced daily - maybe a little small but perfectly adequate. The bathroom was well-appointed with a good shower. Beds were comfortable. We did not take breakfast at the hotel. Staff were always friendly and helpful, especially Sergio who assisted with recommendations for places and restaurants to visit before our arrival and offered to make reservations.

Slightly bigger room would have been more comfortable but it was acceptable. Unfortunately, the a/c in our friends' room did not work properly

This hotel has a brilliant staff, is friendly and provides superb service. We loved the location in the historic centre of Bologna. Buffet breakfasts were plentiful and high-quality with excellent service. The rooftop bar is a delight. We had a lovely room off an internal courtyard, which had little external view but a great deal of privacy and quiet with access to exterior seating.

We had only one issue, which related to the lack of ventilation for the bathroom. Unfortunately this made the room slightly damp and caused me a few health issues.

Well located hotel in the heart of Bologna. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was spacious and comfortable. Good air conditioning and shutters made the room cool during some very hot weather. Good breakfast and coffee made to order. Great service from staff. The rooftop bar was good - drinks were a little on the expensive side but they were excellent and the complimentary snacks were the best we got in Italy.

I think the bar fridge was way too small. The room was a decent size so I think it could accommodate a bigger bar fridge.

Excellent location. Fantastic breakfast. Lovely decor in main areas. Wonderful roof top bar. Large room, comfortable bed. Separate closet area, big bathroom.

Lots of stairs to navigate. No black out blinds. Bit noisy in the main areas, and it sounded like someone was vacuuming/polishing floors at 2am one morning. There wasn't a good area for doing make up, could do with a mirror in the bedroom or dressing area. Mini fridge didn't keep things cool enough.
