Hotel Villa Giulia

It was located a short walk from restaurant / bar / cafe and had a large air conditioned room for us which was ideal in the heat of a Rome suburb. Next to Ciampino Airport it is handy for the main orbital motorway for the city and therefore accessible for whatever you want to do or visit. The staff were friendly and spoke english Being in the heart of town car parking is at a premium but we were able to park our car each night with the help of the staff.

Its a cramped town centre with tight one way streets and cars parked everywhere - typically Italian ! So getting around required concentration and probably difficult for anyone not used to driving in major European cities, However, the property itself I could not fault.

All I needed was a safe place to sleep for 2 nights in Rome and be close to Ciampino Airport when I had to fly out to Spain – Hotel Villa Giulia was perfect. Pretty, convenient, and kind staff for a budget hotel. I took a small twin bed room but it was very clean, the bathroom was updated, the AC worked well, and the balcony had a charming view of the neighborhood (see balcony photo). Alex and Federico at Reception were especially kind and welcoming, giving me tips on the local Ciampino town, how to use the WiFi, even bringing me a small fridge when the one in the room wasn’t cold enough for my food. When I had to fly out at checkout, they arranged their regular airport taxi for a very reasonable fee and door to door it was 10 minutes. And: Rome! It’s only a 15 minute walk around Ciampino town square (photo with diagram) to Ciampino City light rail train station where for under $2 US, you can be at Roma Termini Station (Rome’s Grand Central) in 15 minutes – in the center of Rome. At Ciampino town square, people in the restaurants (photo with checked tablecloth) and markets were also very friendly and kind about my poor attempt at speaking Italian. The trains run frequently and til late at night and Ciampino is a safe neighborhood for walking at night. And if you’re exhausted after walking around Rome all day, taxis at Roma Termini’s main taxi stand are all clearly labeled “Ciampino Airport 30 Euro” and the hotel is closer, around $20. Taxi drivers were all very honest, kind, and it’s metered.

Hotel Giulia delivers exactly what you would expect when you book it to fly out of Ciampino Airport. It's a nice hotel, clean and quiet. The staff at the reception was very polite and helpful. The lady in the breakfast room was also very nice and helpful, serving us a couple of tasty coffees. The rooms were decent in size, we had the clastic room, which could benefit from an updates. Kind of reminds me of a hotel by the sea side from years ago. I saw they also have modernized rooms which I believe are a little more up do date in regard furniture and amenities.... You are very close to the city center of Ciampino, where you will find everything you want and need during your stay. All in all, a good hotel to overnight while waiting on your transfer.

Aside from the furniture update in the room where we stayed, no complaints.

Because of a village problem, the water was cut off. BUT the staff were very very apologetic and helpful. They gave me a bucket of water to use if I needed to wash up and also gave me lots of extra bottled water. And my breakfast was not included in my booking but they gave me it free because of the hardship/disturbance caused because of now water all night and into the morning. Thankfully the water pressure came back on and I was able to take a nice hot shower the next morning before catching my flight. Also, while I waited for a taxi, the hotel staff offered me coffee and a croissant. I was well taken care of.

Close to town and railway station and several places to eat nearby. Convenient for the airport, by shuttle bus or taxi. Clean, modern property with a lift. Room small, but very comfortable with every amenity, only one small gripe in that as it was winter, it could have done with a rug by the bed…. the floor was very cold! OK in summer. Just a cheap IKEA rag rug or similar. Breakfast was good, but you have to pay extra. I missed that, assuming that as it was described as a B & B, breakfast would be included!

Nothing really, a couple of minor issues re the bathroom; the small radiator in the bathroom needed bleeding, as only a third of it got warm, and secondly, the shower tray did not drain away properly, so you ended standing in 3cm of water. I had to turn it off halfway through my shower, in case the water overflowed onto the floor! I did mention these points to the staff, who said they would sort them.

A lovely stay at Hotel Guilia. This hotel is really close to Rome Campiano (CIA) airport. The facilities for my family of four were perfect for our overnight stay. This hotel is a great place to stay if you are cruising from Civitavecchia Port. The hotel reception staff were very helpful and arranged our taxi to the port. The price was fixed, I was able to pay by credit card and the taxi driver was took us right to the ship! No walking with our cases 😀 Breakfast was extensive for the very reasonable €7 each.

It is a modern building located just ten minutes or so by taxi or a bus from the Ciampino Airport. If you are flying from or to this airport, this is your spot. Even though it is located quite far away from the city centre, the Ciampino train station is less than ten minutes on foot. From there you can take trains to Termini, the services are quite frequent. The bathroom was nice and clean as was the rest of the room.

My room didn't have any window facing the outside of the building, the window was facing a hallway in the center of the building. The room was quite warm and because of the window a bit claustrophobical. Also, there is not any anteroom, so it could get noisy with people passing by the room.

The room was small, simple, like in photos. Very good for one night stay. The staff was very kind. It would very comfortable if you need to stay between flights or before going to Rome (like in my case). The only thing is my flight was delayed, I arrived at 2:00 in the night and then it's almost impossible to reach the hotel - the shuttle bus is not going and it's very complicated to get a taxi in the airport or even call during the night. It took me 2-3 hours (instead of 10 minutes) to get to the hotel.

The possbility to get from the airport to the hotel during the night. Very, very complicated. But if you come during the day, all would be fine.

The hotel was clean, the room had everything i need for one night stay, it was warm an comfortable. The staff have been friendly and helpful.

I found The taxi service to get to the airport way to expensive. I understand that i got a taxi at 4 in the morning but 25 euro for 6 minutes ride, it is too much. I've checked few different taxi apps and i could find cheaper prices

Room was very spacious and clean, reception staff very polite and helpful giving us all the details we needed. Overall very good value for money and very close to the airport which was extremely convenient due to our very early flight.

The only thing about the room, and it might have been the ground floor location, was I kept waking up with this sound like containers were being dragged on the floor? Not sure what it was but it was that bit disruptive.
