Holiday Inn Naples, an IHG Hotel

This was a transition hotel on our return to the US from Sorrento, It. We were looking for a hotel that was close enough to the airport so we didn't have to get up incredibly early for our early morning flight. The facilities are about average but the staff was very nice, polite, and helpful. They called a cab for the ride to the airport and when we asked on check-in they said the ride would cost 15E-20E.

The location is one that I had no interest in walking about. In and older part of the city about 15 mins to the airport. I made the mistake of not verifying the cost for the Taxi to the airport and he charged us 30$...which was way over was it should have been... My fault! Paid and learned!

Very convenient for early morning flight from Naples airport. Good facilities and some restaurants nearby too, if you don’t want to eat in the hotel, which was very nice. Upgraded to a suite, which was great for space.

Didn’t know we needed to ask for a non-smoking room, which would have been better - bit musty smell. View on a very run down area but that is not unusual in Southern Italy. The entrance side is by a business district and felt very safe. Rooms need some modernisation.

Best breakfast in Europe that I have seen. Actually best breakfast ever. Amazing variety, quantity and customer service level. Fantastic staff very friendly and efficient every where and great view of the volcano vesuvius if you are in higher floors. The rooms are very modern and a good relief to rest when you come from old town naples. From the train station (have to take a taxi) you can access the whole italy and especially take trains every 30 minutes to Pompei or Amalfi coast.

It is actually very far from train station entrance, about 20 minutes walking through a largely deserted and sketchy area, which can be quiet intimidating especially on weekends and at a night when there is absolutely no one around and you have to walk through what amounts to empty government buildings and highway, so you really have to take taxis all the time in and out of the hotel. Plan on adding about 50 euros daily to spend in taxis to get in and out of your room /

Facility was very nice. Modern and clean lines. A restaurant, bar and wonderful breakfast were all welcoming on our first night in Italy. We wandered outside to a huge piazza mainly occupied by students from the nearby university. At dinner time, a few restaurants set up tables and we had a delicious seafood dinner. Mt.Vesuvius was visible at dusk.

We were not sure of the safety of the area, being so close to the train station and the piazza upkeep being neglected

The hotel turned out to be better than expected. The room was comfortable. Breakfast was good and very well organized in terms of seating. The room keeping service did a great job at tidying up the room. The best was the restaurant and the friendly staff there. They restaurant staff really made sure that we felt comfortable every time we went there and the food was good. Can only recommend.

For tourists, location is not the best. The hotel is a little away from the center and in the middle of the business district. There are restaurants and grocery options nearby but they are only open on business days and during office times. However Taxis in Naples are very cheap. For a family of 4, it was cheaper and more convenient for us to take a Taxi to center than use public transport. In hindsight, given how comfortable the hotel was, it turned out to be better to stay here and take a taxi than stay in a less comfortable room near city center. For taking a tour to Pompei, it also meant we were the last one be picked up and first one to be dropped back by the transport which was great because we avoided the city traffic. Would chose this option again.

Absolutely stunning hotel with super friendly staff and a high standard for service. The open bar was fully stocked and could serve anything, the bars food was also great! The restaurant had maybe the best food I had on my whole trip to Italy, both breakfast and dinner. The room was of super high standard and very very clean. Hotel was close to the train station, airport and other attractions, taxi’s where also quick to get to the hotel and was a very good option to get around. Loved my stay, I will be coming back!

Nothing, everything was perfect

Very close to the airport. The room and bathroom are clean and specious. The ventilation was a little bit loud. The windows were hard to open considering living on the 14th floor and hotel location near the main railway station. The two queen beds are OK for a family with two children.

The hotel is located in the business district of Naples, next to the Justice Palace, ideal for business trips in connection to the sky towers nearby Otherwise, the neighborhood is not very close to the city center, 20-30 minutes walk to the main railway station - Napoli Garibaldi. The reception (the main entrance of the hotel) is located on a side not very clean street, near some abandoned buildings.

Bedding and bed excellent . Bathroom also very good . Check in man - useless totally . did half a job then did something else . ( Tuesday day shift 24 May ) His colleague eventually rescued it . Guiseppe was totally brilliant in the cafe / restaurant- helpful friendly and efficient . excellent staff member - the company shouldn’t hide him away downstairs- he should be front of house or move the reception which is not great downstairs to the restaurant area which is very nice and would create the right first impression of what is actually a very good property ( despite the gritty location) . all in all yes a decent hotel in magical city .

the front desk half job man

Check in was fast and friendly and the Superior Room was large, clean and modern (windows could be cleaned to make it even better). The hotel is better than average for sound proofing but you can still hear some noise from th corridors and rooms above bit certainly not as much as you can from the older city centre buildings. Breakfast options were average for vegans, and there was no clear labels for what was suitable for dietary allergies at the buffet which was something I'd have expected a large hotel chain such as Holiday Inn to have been doing.

Caution! The lifts/elevators are chaos. Each runs on it's own system so people press all 4 buttons and you end up stopping at every floor (there are around 20 floors!) and waiting a long time for a lift/elevator during peak morning time so recommended to leave extra time for check out if you have a flight to catch.

Convenient to all our needs. The hotel staff was amazing.Angelo and his team members were great. The housekeeping staff is amazing. We spent time in the bar and ordered pizza and had cocktails, Ciro is an excellent bartender. The morning breakfast was excellent along with the staff. Dinner was also great. We did not walk around the outside area but was convenient to our needs.
