A Casa di Amici

This is classic hostel like the ones from days gone by. It has that vibe that draws people from all over the world. It is the people that make a hostel great. On Tuesday night we had common meal with the owners and staff. An evening to remember. If sleeping in a room with 7 others and sharing a bathroom isn't for you then I would recommend a boaring hotel. But if you are seeking adventure and want to meet interesting people from all over the world then come here to learn and experience.

I had booked 2 nights at another hostel, Sunrise something, and left after the first night because the place was just nasty. I was ready to bypass Palermo all together when someone suggested A Casa de Amici. What a difference. I ended up staying there 3 nights and really enjoyed Palermo.

I didnt expect such a high quality in a hostel in Sicily. The place is new, perfectly equiped, great interesting ethnographic design, bathrooms are totally new and perfectly clean, each guest has its private bed, the kitchen is big and clean, there is a balcony, great common room and a terrase. The stuff is highly professional and well-mannered and really put lots of efforts in providing high quality service. I was satisfied with every detail of this place and of my stay. I had a bad experience with 2 other hostels and especially their owners in Sicily and therefore I would definetely recommend you to choose this one since its a way better in all aspects than what you can find in Palermo and probably even in all Sicily. Place is located in the city centre, walking distance to absolutely everywhere where you need to reach as tourist: local dining, city centre, train stop, bus to airport,bus to san vito del capo. Staff is friendly and very informative, room was clean and i think it's a fantastic value for the money. I did rent an umbrella for the beach as well. A special thanks for lady who works in accomodation. I think she should be named for her hard working job and how she kept space with so many people spotless clean. Bathroom was very clean and facilities. It's also safe place for single woman travellers, i think staff is mainly ladies as well

It's a city centre so obviously you will hear some noises at night from outside, but it's non avoidable. For high sensitive people i recommend you to bring ear plugs or take hostel outside of the city centre.

First of all, this place is made up of wonderful girls on staff - they are happy to joke, but also willing to help with problems. Very good location of the hostel, close to Teatro Massimo. Clean inside, well-equipped bathrooms, comfortable beds. PS, it's not that noisy from the street, it's quiet when you close the shutters. A place with good energy, attracts other great travelers. I will also choose this hostel next time I stay overnight in Palermo

Very clean and cute hostel. Kind staff. I was a bit worried it was too far from town but it’s in a nice area and I even felt ok walking home alone from the historic centre. Super easy to make friends.

Would love to see a mokapot in the kitchen. Also when the cleaners clean they come in and out a million times and leave the door open. This is every day. If you like to stay out and sleep in late in the day you won’t be able to do that here. 100% respect to them for keeping it so clean but it really is an extended process and seemed like maybe they could do one room at a time instead of one task at a time on each room? Anyway it’s very clean.

I liked everything about this place! First Tomaž, the receptionist who welcomed me on my check-in. Exceptional person! The place is awesome, from everything really. Rooms are nice, people working there, from cleaners to owners. Every room has AC, it's very clean, they clean whole hostel every day, location is probably the best as it gets, like 3 min tops from the main turistic street where historical center starts. Vucciria (the best place to go out) is very close. But the best thing about this place is definitely the stuff! Very friendly, very helpful, lots of good recommendatilns from them of what to visit. All of them are very nice, but I gotta say few extra words for receptionist Tomaž. He's a photographer like me, so we went together to some small city 20km outside of Palermo that is really cool to shoot. Picked me up wih his car in from of hostel and drove me back in his free time. Really the people working here are amazing, kind and welcoming! You can really tell this people like this job.

An exceptional hostel. The main areas are filled with art and instruments the hostel owner handmade. Everywhere is full of art. The staff is so friendly, the location is good (needs around 3 bus stops to vucciria/via Roma) and our roommates were always so respectful. We could sleep peacefully. They provide lockers with keys. The facilities were cleaned regularly and they help you out with all your questions. The breakfast is affordable and fulfilling. I will definitely come here when I visit Palermo again :)

I loved the staff, I loved the people who came to stay there. the entire atmosphere was welcoming, never felt alone. Considering this was my first time staying at a hostel, i felt more safe than ever and I would definitely go back there for another trip in Palermo. They also kept safe the ring I had forgotten in the bedroom and I am extremely grateful.

As someone who grew up in an arabic country, the absence of bidets for everyone except private residents kind of made it hard for me to manage the mornings sometimes.

Located 10 mins walk from theatro Massimo and mercato del Capo and 20 minutes from the cathedral and norman palace. Clean and comfortable. I had a very sociable experience and met lots of people sat out on the terrace in the evening. Room was large and comfortable and the bathroom was clean. Easy to find. Just round the corner from Palermo Lolli station which has a train to the airport as well as sfetracavallo a old port town. The staff were friendly and helpful and have me tips on what to get up to. There was a lot of noise from the street as per other reviews but this is Palermo it will always be loud and the reception has free earplugs The hostel itself was quite during sleeping hours I was not disturbed by other guests

The kitchen was a little small was not a problem in march but I wonder if it might be in the summer but there is so much Sicilian street for to try you don't need to use it much

The hostel is located about a 15-minute walk from the center and very close to the train station, so the location was very good. The staff was friendly. The hostel was clean. There were individual lights and power sockets near each bed. There were also lockers in the room. The bed was comfortable. I liked the artistic vibe in the hostel, the paintings and instruments everywhere. And the robot in the staircase :)

It was quite loud in my room as the window overlooked a street.
