Best Western Hotel President - Colosseo

The hotel is located in front of a large main street right next to the Manzoni Metro stop and allows you to easily navigate the city. When you enter the lobby/reception it smells very nice, the space is big and you can sit on the comfortable sofas. At the reception you will find a map of the city and the staff is helpful. There were 4 of us and we booked the room with 2 areas, 2 bathrooms, 2 TVs, a safe and playstation! Everything was clean and if you wish they clean it every day. They provide you with bubble bath, shampoo, body cream, etc. The breakfast area is beautiful, comfortable and the breakfast is large, wonderful with variety and everything is delicious! Many and various croissants, eggs with bacon, freshly baked rolls with Italian cold meats! Their coffee is perfect! Surely this hotel knows how to take care of its customers and we will come again! I recommend it!

Everything at breakfast was fresh and replaced as the quantity ran low. On the last day, I was asked if I wanted an espresso but not the other two days thus I did not know I had the option. The coffee was okay and it was nice that the milk was kept warm. Very good selection even for a vegetarian. Excellent bread selection but the toaster was set low (this kept people from burning their toast) so required more than one pass. The AC was wonderful as the temps were extremely high. The room had a metal shutter which helped to keep the room dark and a little cooler, The front desk was great in calling a taxi for us to go across town to catch a bus.

I choose the wrong room as it was a bit tight getting our suitcases in and the bed was small, but again this was my fault. Due to the high temps we had to keep the AC on and it was noisy. The shower door did not close properly as it was short, so the floor was wet.

We came to the hotel at the end of a cruise. The port is more than an hour away from Rome. We checked around for drivers to pick us up and take us to the hotel. Most were very expensive, including transportation offered by the ship. I contacted the hotel front desk and talked with Manuela. She was fantastic! She came up with transportation at a reasonable price not only from the port but also after our stay, to the airport. Manuela also got us into our room upon our arrival, which was earlier than the usual check in time. The room was fine with some separation for my wife and I From our granddaughter. We asked about places to have dinner. Manuela suggested one within walking distance of the hotel. It was so good that we ate there both nights.

The restaurant in the hotel only served a full breakfast for 14 euros. You could not just get a cup of coffee and a pastry. There was a 'snack bar' right on the corner by the hotel where you could purchase coffee and pastry. The location was not near many historic sites. The colosseum was the closest: about a mile away. However, there was a metro entrance close by and taxis and Uber were available.

Breakfast was very good! Unfortunately it was not included in our booking, but it was well worth it. Had delicious cappuccinos every morning w/ it, and the staff member remembered us every morning. That was appreciated! Location is great - right next to a metro station, easy access from there to the Vatican. You can walk to the Colosseum.

Windows didn't completely block out the noise of the traffic outside, and there were some loud neighbors. Some confusion as well about the laundry service - you're supposed to fill out a form that specifically says "dry cleaning" and we weren't looking for that. Elevator is super small but that's normal in Europe!

The hotel is very close ( 1 min) to Metrou/Subway Manzoni and 2 min to 51 Bus from where you can go 2 stations at Colosseum, otherwise you can walk until Colosseum 15 min. As well is a Carrefour at 4 min walk and a lot of brand stores. What I enjoyed most was the breakfast ( 10 euros) , elegant, clean and diverse, the staff is friendly, value for money. The room wasn’t small but not too big, instead the bathroom is very clean, you have nice smelling shower/shampoo/intimate/lotion cream and the towels were changed every morning by the chamber maid/camerista. ( plus bed sheets, empty bins,etc). The parking ( underground) 25 per day, but safe and the men there are very helpful, communicative and friendly.

I do not have anything to complain.

Room was good, if pretty basic but with everything you'd need. Bed was very comfortable, and the shower was very good. Breakfast was excellent, great choices, good quality, highly recommended. Staff were great, including trying their best to help us buy tickets for the rugby.

Main issue was getting the aircon to work, room was always slightly hotter than we wanted. We didn't report it to reception though, so that's on us as it may have been fixable. More English speaking TV channels would have been good, but not a big deal. Bathroom slightly small, as was the shower cubicle, albeit a very good shower.

Really well appointed business style hotel with good facilities. Friendly staff. Good sized room. Enjoyed my stay on the whole. Good value. About 15 mins walk from Colosseum and right next to a metro stop.

Although good facilities it was quite tired in decor - just one of those things. Did not spoil stay. What did to some extent was how thin the walls were - first two nights I had a man snoring disgustingly all night and it was as though he was in the same room as me. Not in the smartest part of Rome but it didn’t claim to be!

Big spacious family suit for 4 with 2 big kids. One room has 2 twin beds with one bathroom. Other room has one king bed with separate bathroom so you get 2 bathrooms. They have free bags storage and very good restaurant in lobby.

Shower drain was jammed and we spotted couple of mosquitos 😮 in the room. They didn’t have breakfast included you have to pay 15 euros per head for breakfast.

We requested a room with two beds, the first one they put us in only has one large and very comfortable. Both the room and bathroom were spacious, the shower was wonderful! The second day we're moved to the 6th flour with two beds but both the room and bathroom were much smaller, celling also much lower. Bathroom handle fell out when I opened it. Tub and sink drained very slow. The shower has one half side only swing shower door that splash water everywhere on the floor whenever we showered no matter how careful we were.

Hotel was clean and room was big. Clean toom and basic toiletries provided. Small things like providing water and pastries at the lobby were much appreciated. Also appreciated that we could check in earlier since we came from a long train ride. Location is great too, step out and straight into metro. Our room was on the second floor and we could hear the noise from downstairs, so do ask for a higher room if possible. Housekeeping staff were really nice and helpful.

Not much eateries ard the area...very basic places.
