Relais Manzoni

I have stayed many hotels in Rome. This Hotel was a Gem! The room was comfortable. A bit smaller than expected. Exceptionally clean. We came on the hottest days ever of Rome. We walked from Roma Termini to the hotel. Which I do not recommend. Take the Metro to Manzoni, it is only 2 minutes walk. The walk was not bad but in the hottest midday heat, it made like walking through the dessert. Fortunately, the hotel was not too far from walking from Roma Termini. When we arrived at the hotel at the reception, Daniel greeted us with cold drinks as we were being checked-in. As he has seen us suffering from the heat. Daniel was very helpful and delightful. He gave us plenty of helpful hints which made our dining selections and sightseeing easy and enjoyable. Without him our stay would not be as memorable. He was fun and easy to talk to, made us feel welcome and feeling right at home. Hotel’s location is tucked away from any main road or traffic. It is on a quiet street. Taking the underground train to Manzoni, it became accessible to come from and to all tour hot spots. It is close to some area, still away from the busy tourist areas. We even walked to the coliseum within 15 minutes on our first day. The hotel is immaculate clean. Not wheel chair accessible. It has an elevator, we took the stairs mainly, watch out for the step out of the breakfast area. Breakfast area was stylish and welcoming. Breakfast is the typical continental with exceptional luncheon meat selections. There are bread, toasts, fruits, eggs, yogurts, juices, pastries, cereals and especially the made to order coffees! Our room was modern, well decorated. With private bathroom, nicely stocked mini bar, a safe, wardrobe, tv and desk. The air conditioner was quiet enough to let us rest from the long touring sessions of Rome. Unlike in some other big hotels where the air conditioner is loud which wakes you at night. I would recommend this hotel and stay again on my next trip to Rome.

Location is a 15 minute walk from the colleseum, the single room was clean and equipped with necessary things for a 1-2 days stay. The breakfast although lacking a bit was more than enough for me personally. The hotel works 24/7 and has a person willing to help at any moment, the team is definitely getting the job done. Mini bar is equipped with a variety of things which are all reasonably priced. A few supermarkets are In the area. The AC in August is an important touch, and works well.

Location isn't in the best of neighbourhoods. Too few power outlets. The room I got seemed like a wheelchair accessible room, and the toilet was very high and uncomfortable. Bathroom had no curtain. Left my cigarettes on the porch and they disappeared after a few hours, although I didn't enquire about this incident, since I couldn't care much, it was an interesting thing to witness...

I recommend the hotel. A little bit about the details. Located on a quiet street, the metro station is 5 minutes walk, for reference - the Colosseum 25 minutes walk on the street. Service at the hotel is excellent. Special thanks to the guys at the reception, they are just great!!! There were no problems in the room - hot water without problems, safe, mini bar, towels, bed linen, everything is fine. Good balcony in the room. breakfasts are the same excellent: croissants, eggs, cheese, sausage, ham and so on. Thanks to all the staff for a great holiday!

We didn't find really bad things.

The staff members were exceptionally friendly. They were totally lovely and helpful. And having my own terrace overlooking the street was such a bonus. Location-wise it was perfectly suitable for my purpose. It was in a quiet street and only a quick, ten euro taxi ride away from the busy city centre. The room was comfortable and clean and nicely designed. Perfect for the solo traveller and next time I’m in Rome I will certainly book this hotel again

The narrow and short double bed (a wider one wouldn’t fit in the room) was fine for one but would be unsuitable for two

location not so central

Hotel is very clean and very close to facilities. Bed was super king size and very comfortable. Staff are very friendly and very helpful. The manager went above and beyond to be a "guide" for us. We have been recommended places to eat and to visit and everyone was fantastic!! Will definitely return!

We didn't have many options for breakfast and I think that should improve for the future. For us personally, the room was very cold because there is no central heating in the buildinf but only AC and that...in winter...does not really work. This could be a personal opinion and other's may prefer a slightly colder room. That doesn't mean we will not return. Would be great during summer!!

Renovated (2022), super clean hotel, comfortable beds. We had 3 rooms - single was quite small (but with surprisingly spacious bathroom) and had poor WiFi signal strength, double was quite standard and double room upstairs had superb terrace / balkony (with small bathroom, on the other hand). Manzoni metro station is 5 mins walk. Breakfast is basic, rather standard in Italy, but the indoor breakfast terrace is a fun place :) compared to other places around, I feel price/quality is an upside of this place.

WiFi signal was poor in some areas.

Staff was very kind and friendly. The place is small as well as the room -hence the bed- but everything was comfortable and big enough for us (both medium size?) to feel good. Our room had a really enjoyable balcony. Quite location and hotel and room were well soundproofed. Bathroom was bigger than expected if compared to the rest, clean, functional, with a nice shower with hot water working (not lukewarm as it may happen in hotels). At first it looked to me a bit kitsch from pictures, but it actually has a style, I found it beautiful in the end. Good breakfast.

I would suggest higher/additional pillows, deeper cleaning of velvety surfaces (cleanliness was in general absolutely good though) and a better coffee/cappuccino (which would make a serious difference in the already good breakfast). I found the price somehow high, but it was long since my last time in Rome; I guess the quality of the service and the position (and the high season and the free cancellation) make it still reasonable.

We had very pleasant stay for one night. Also, the staff took care of our luggage after check out since we had late flight. The staff is exceptional, really. They were all very kind and we appreciate that a lot. What we liked especially is also the fresh and delicious breakfast. 😋 And 10 points goes also for the location of the hotel. Colosseum is reachable for less than minutes walk, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps for about 30 minutes walk, etc.

The location was great, very convenient to go to the main places especially with the metro station only 5 minutes away. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Was worth it for the price.

Very limited breakfast options, the woman at breakfast who was making coffee was not very friendly - probably because she didn't know English.
