Hotel Vico Alto

The owner greated us with a fresh cup of cappucino.

Had to go to lobby to get the internet to work right. It worked for the first hour we were in the room on Sunday, but faded after the first hour. I didn't know what was going on and the owner suggested I try the lobby Sunday night. I passed, but tried it Monday morning from the lobby and the wifi worked well. I was expecting a cable backup--I had a cable ready to use but no place to plug it it. Thank goodness the wifi worked from the lobby.

The staff was really friendly and helpful, and the hotel was clean. Initially they had given us a room with a street view, but it was a very warm room that wouldn't cool down with the AC. However, when we requested, they moved us to a slightly cooler suite on that had the second bed in a private room. Also, it was nice to have a continental breakfast included.

The location. Although a bus stop was in front of the hotel, it was at the top of a hill. At night we stayed in the historic center too late and couldn't catch a bus back. Make sure you can call a taxi, as it's a long walk up the hill!

We got a room with balcony and the view is nice. The staff is very friendly. There is a bus station right in the front of the hotel. There is a 24h working bar. The sheets and towels are changed every day and the room is cleaned. Overall, there is silence and you can sleep well.

It is quite far (40 min walk) from the city center and the road does not have sidewalks. The shower cabin was quite small and the bathroom looked 'overused', but not terrible. You have to come early to get to enjoy the breakfast. The refills could be a little slow. The coffee is from a machine and it's is not that great. You may hear noises from the other rooms, the walls are not very soundproof.

The proximity

The fact that I booked a double room and I was given a tiny single bed which I didn’t choose when paying and the attendant who pretended not to understand even after showing my booking. In such a big hotel multi lingual is preferable and customer care skills needed

A bit far from center but nice place. Low cost but served the purpose of one night.

No parking but there is free place around.

The breakfast was awful, the juice was watered down and the croissants tasted like cardboard.

The situation was perfect for us. The wiew was fantastic and the host friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good.

Breakfast was superb for the price. The lady serving was very pleasant and even encouraged us to eat more!
