I liked the staff, location, cleanliness and idea of roof top bar should I indulge. Staff were over the top in being helpful towards my needs.
“Included breakfast” was decent but was in a restaurant doors from the hotel, which I didn’t mind, but I was highly embarrassed when on the second morning I received a billing folder in which I was required to tip. Apparently the morning before I did not tip, as I never experienced this type of “included breakfast” situation in another restaurant so obviously the waiters targeted me as a non tipper. That embarrassed me as I always tip but was not accustomed to this type of situation. To me “included” when paying $250 a night means totally included. No one made me aware of protocol. On my second night there was thumping music. Be it from the rooftop restaurant or the street as it was Easter holiday. Sleepless night!

The hotel located in the best location of the Jardin de Union. It is right next to Starbucks (for those who can't live without it), and in front of the garden. There are different choices of room (with or without window) and decor. We picked the modern room with window facing the garden and the hotel management told us ahead of time that there may be more noise due to its location. There are no cars in the garden, but you will hear loud live mariachi music playing into midnight. We sticked with our choice and to our pleasant surprise, the sound insulation is pretty decent and didn't interrupt our sleep at all. The bed and pillows are so comfortable and we were able to get a great night sleep.

This is a first class, luxury property. The staff are supremely well trained. Super responsive. They recognized my birthday with a card and a fruit tart. Very nice touch. Pricey, but tons of value for the money.
they give you a breakfast coupon for a restaurant that is 20 meters from the entrance. The food at Valadez is really poor. The coupon is valid for breakfast packages. The first I chose was inedible. Really weird taste. Fortunately, Valadez allowed a simple substitution, but it took some convincing. That is the only negative experience. Everything else was 10+

Everything. Perfect location, cute balcony overlooking the Jardin, close to everything. Comfortable room, luxurious bathroom, waterfall shower, luxury amenities. Wonderful, very helpful staff with excellent English and good recommendations for things to see and places to eat. Very tasty, large breakfast (loved their mole!) in a nice restaurant two doors down, or a voucher for Starbucks next door.
A little noise from the Jardin in the evening, but that was part of the fun for us. There are quieter rooms facing the courtyard for those who don't want to enjoy the festivities from their room. Breakfast starts a little late (9 am) for those trying to get an early start, but that is not the fault of the hotel, and they do offer Starbucks vouchers. I imagine driving and parking in this town would be difficult, but again not the fault of the hotel.

The building itself which hosted Emperor Maximilian and Queen Carlotta - and is now faultlessly renovated. The amazing bathroom with hot, hot, hot water and fantastic shower. The fabulously comfy bed with luxury linens! Peter the mayordomo who told us so many interesting things about the hotel’s history, and the FLAWLESS service from the friendly staff at the front desk. The ease of access by taxi and central location.

The location was prime. The service was outstanding and they made sure they were attentive to all of our needs. They were helpful from booking something to just giving directions. Excellent communication from all the staff. From being picked up and dropped off at the airport they were consistent.
My wife said she couldn't think of anything we didn't like!

Lovely big well decorated and furnished room with separate sitting area - suite 103 Maria. Helpful staff available to take our hire car to a parking lot, as absolutely no parking anywhere else. Good breakfast at a nearby restaurant. Best shower in Latin America with thermostatic shower valve that works!
Suites 101, 102 and 103 are at the front of the hotel overlooking the Jardin de l'Union. Great during the day, but local musicians can go on well into the night which might keep you awake. Earplugs are however thoughtfully provided! Church bells start at around 0600 calling the faithful to prayer and waking up the less godly, but this applies to the whole of the Centro historico.

Excellent location right on the center of everything. It was very nice, very clean, and the stuff were friendly and helpful.
I didn’t realized that the hotel did not have a restaurant in the building except a little bar at the lobby, And they do have a rooftop lounge that opens from 6pm to 11 pm. They do work with a restaurant next-door where your breakfast is included if you pay for the packet that includes breakfast, The breakfast at the restaurant was very good though. I do recommend the restaurant for breakfast or dinner. Another important thing to note though, is that if you have a room that faces the plaza you will definitely hear the mariachis and what not all day and night but they do stop playing at 12 midnight, Except sometimes the restaurant across the street on the corner has their own music going on and will play past 12.

We arrived very late and the staff was super accommodating. The room was quiet and bright. The rooms were impeccably cleaned every day. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I look forward to staying here again on our next trip to GTO. One more thing, you can't beat the location. You walk out the door and you are in the middle of the action.
