Casa del Rector Hotel Boutique

It was right in Guanajuato, easy to navigate and a quiet, lovely boutique. We booked the Master Suite and it had a lovely balcony area above the courtyard. The pool and sky bar had wonderful views and it was a lovely trip. The included breakfast for us was also quite delicious.

Like most places in Guanajuato, there is no place to park/pullover near the hotel. It made for a slightly stressful and eventful loading/unloading process. My wife’s parents room was also incredibly small, so be weary of what you book. It was essentially a small closet off the main hallway with no windows and a bed. This room was marginally cheaper than our master suite so it is important to double check your booking before finalizing.

Very comfortable well-appointed clean quiet room off a large multi-story interior courtyard with a large bathroom and comfortable bed. Our room had a private rooftop deck overlooking the city, a wonderful place to sit and relax. The location is very convenient, the historic city center is right outside this wonderful boutique hotel's front door. The staff was all welcoming, friendly, and helpful.

The Wifi was poor, the service only worked about half the time of our 4-night stay and the hotel staff did not seem concerned. Luckily a coffee shop just down the street had fast and free wifi.

they played music too loud and our room was right next to the courtyard where they played the music. we had to ask them a couple of times to turn in down. we also ordered an expensive wagyu burger which came cold along with the fries. I refused to pay for it and got into an argument with the operations manager. eventually they took it off the bill. they made up for it by giving us a couple of free drinks in the sky at which came as a pleasant surprise

The hotel is charming and beautiful. It's located in the historic center, within easy walking distance of most of the sights. It's in a series of old buildings that were superbly renovated into the hotel, the interior and exterior spaces are lovely and photogenic. There is a rooftop bar from which you can see most of Guanajuato, as well as a lovely infinity pool.

The food in the restaurant wasn't as good as I would have expected. There's such terrific food available elsewhere in Guanajuato.

The hotel was well-kept and extremely modern. It is located in the central area of the old town and well within walking distance of most sites. The room was large and comfortable. However, the hotel itself lacked a bit of the old-world charm of the town due to its very modern decor. The rooftop pool and bar was a really cool feature though with great views. Valet parking attendants went above and beyond to direct us during unusually heavy traffic on Easter weekend.

The restaurant was not particularly special. I was also offered a drink upon arrival and was disappointed to see later on that they had charged me for what I thought had been a complimentary beverage.

Absolutely EVERYTHING! The only issue was that we couldn’t stay longer. The property is clean, well-kept, beautiful, and has a luxurious historical feel to every space. We are so grateful for the opportunity we had to experience such a warm and welcoming hotel. While our room (junior suite room 1) didn’t have a window, it was very clean, well decorated, and had a very open feeling due to the extremely high ceiling. We would love to return in the future and stay in one of the rooms with a view! The food was excellent, I especially enjoyed the Chipotle Benedict for breakfast. The pool was heated and has a breathtaking view of the city. The rooftop bar serves excellent drinks, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

We have no complaints about this property, only wish we could stay longer!

Location, Rooms.

Friends had to cancel last minute due to a covid positive test. The hotel that we are currently at, waived the cancellation fee, however this hotel charged us and gave us a voucher for a future stay. It would have been nicer to have not been charged, since there was no way that we could have prevented it and Booking.com said that they would not charge. Nevertheless, we know that these are tough times and the management was very kind and professional. There was a little bathroom smell in our friends room. The facilities were beautiful and clean. We would definitely stay there again! Our room had a gorgeous patio to view the city.

It is a very nice centrally located property. The ambiance of the hotel was truly amazing. In fact, it was the reason why we chose this hotel. It is not the usual run-of-the-mill high rise hotel building. It had a character to it. One has to stay here to experience it. Highly recommend it.

For a boutique hotel, they had a very limited menu for breakfast (although it was real good). I pretty much ate the same breakfast 3 days in a row. My wife and son would not eat the regular breakfast so they had a muffin - and guess what. They charged us for it. I didn't mind paying for it. But come on - for a boutique hotel to charge us 40 pesos for 2 muffins!!!!!!!

The entire hotel is beautiful, inside a magnificient old building in the historic center of Guanajuato. The hotel complex comprises different structures on different levels. For instance, the swimming pool and the bar are located higher and only reachable with an elevator, giving it stunning views over the city. It is really a spectacular place. Rooms also beautiful and fully equiped.

We had two 2-person beds in our room, but that was because there were no other rooms available anymore.

Cleanliness was exceptional the atmosphere was great the facilities and the views were incredible

service at breakfast, we were overlooked while having breakfast once a big group of people came in. I expressed we were in a rush to go yet we waited 30-45 from when we sat down to when we received our meal. For the amount of money one pays to stay there, you would imagine they prioritize the hotel guests rather than the restaurant guests.
