Hacienda Las Amantes

beautiful historic villa with lovely shaded courtyards and amazing views.

at the top of hill and then lots of stairs. we were ok with it but would be difficult for those with poor mobility. only one or two staff spoke English. no real welcome and little information provided about basics like breakfast, activities, etc. seemed short staffed. basically minimal interaction with staff. I think we were only guests too. saw no one else. got an email early on if I wanted anything special for my bday. when I replied I got no response and then later messaged again, still no response. also would’ve loved to know more about history of building.

My friend and I loved the natural beauty of the property. There are lush plants everywhere that offer a nice reprieve from the Mexico heat. We also had a delicious, homemade complimentary breakfast each morning. Finally, the staff was great. They maintained the perfect balance of being easy to find when we had a question or request and staying out of your way so you felt like you were staying in a private home.

Our only issue with our stay was the lack of air conditioning in our room. We had really hot days that would heat up our room, so for the cool nights we had to run our ceiling fan and leave our room doors open with just the screen. This helped marginally with the heat at night, but introduced a bigger issue with hearing the town church bells ring throughout the night. Hot and light sleepers beware.

Hacienda Las Amantes is right in the city center, within minutes of all of the attractions. What sets this beautiful property apart is its aesthetic beauty and pageantry. The hotel has very comfortable accommodations but also has artistic styling that harkens back to colonial times with traditional Mexican art and furnishings. The view from the multiple terraces is fabulous. I would say it equals the view from the Rosewood and all you have to do is walk upstairs. This is an adults-only hotel, which was ideal for us and really made for a wonderful visit. the breakfast choices in the morning are great and the staff is quite attentive.

Hacienda las Amantas exceeded my expectations. Its it the most romantic peaceful place ever! We visited the other more popular hotels and we still liked our choice best. Best staff! They didnt speak english but we were able to communicate through google translate. They got us everything we needed (margaritas, wine, breakfast suggestions, etc). The bed was SUPER comfortable and our room was something out of a movie. Most amazing views arguably in the whole city.

Our room was on the outer side of the hacienda so we heard some light road traffic and there was no AC.

The grounds are just magical. Beautiful plants and architecture, perfectly decorated. There were times we wanted to just hang out on the grounds and exist in the wonderful terraces and patios. The staff were amazing. Even with a language barrier, everything was amazing.

The only problem. I had was my second floor room was a little too warm.

We love the attention to detail in making this space absolutely beautiful. We love that this place has so many flowers and old decor which make this place adorable. David is a top notch hosts and the breakfast is so delicious. We will come back again.

Loved everything about this property but if you’re looking for modern conveniences like king size bed, air conditioning or central heat (weather was perfect so didn’t need) you should know what to expect. The staff (and owner) went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and it was one of the most wonderful places I’ve ever been to. The hotel is located a short walk from the town center and at a perfect elevation to get a panoramic view of the town (we stayed in the room with the patio overlooking the city). The service at the hotel was fantastic. They even provided car service from and to Mexico City. Breakfast was lovely as well. I would highly recommend this property to anyone travelling to San Miguel, since I have nothing to fault about the place.

The space was beautiful, private, and the rooms were comfy and well equipped

There weren’t staff consistently available which was a little confusing at times. No evening amenities.

Everything about this place is so cute. The staff is so friendly and helpful, the breakfast and service was of a dream. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and she was so nice as well. The only thing I didn't like is that they don't allow kids (I believe younger than 18), but it is perfect for couples, friends or single travelers.

Really lovely hotel with tasteful decor and lots of plants all over the building. They don’t use plastics for shampoo and soap, which is really nice. The breakfast is very good. The overall vibe is super cozy

The air in San Miguel is very dry. Would be nice if they had some lotion in the room
