Great location with trams accessible right outside hotel Immaculately clean lovely new bathroom Great quality towels & linen. Free coffee at reception. Very friendly & helpful staff especially Tahir .....nothing too much trouble

The room we had was tiny the bed touched the wall either side the bathroom was small also but very well equipped with everything you needed & very clean which made up for the size of the room . Very noisy at night so had to keep windows closed . Not a problem as weather wasn't hot but could be a problem in summer as no air con in room

It's a cool little hotel, away from the bustling touristy areas but only a 25 minute walk from all the action. The staff were lovely and very helpful. The supermarket staff across the road were also so helpful and welcoming. I had an excellent time

The stairs are a bit of trouble, especially after a long day of walking. But this is not a problem, it adds some character to the hotel. We know we booked a small room, and it is small. Barely any room for 2 people to stand at the same time, however we know what we paid for and it did not change our experience of the city or of the hotel.

This is a small family owned boutique hotel in a great area of the city. It’s close to great food and shopping and central to all the attractions. The tram runs right in front of the hotel which is even more convenient. The best part of the hotel is the staff. Everyone is accommodating and most importantly friendly. They gave us great recommendations and were very helpful even arranging transportation for us. The hotel is perfect and they also have balconies which is a bonus. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was a nice size with endless hot water. They also have a heated floor which is nice in the winter. We will definitely be back again!

We stayed at the Alp Hotel early August 2023 and loved it. It is a charming, small hotel with clean, pleasant rooms (many with nice size balcony) and close enough to walk to most sites (or you can take tram which literally stops right in front of hotel). Tahir at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful with everything we needed, from recommendations for food/sites/tours to quickly fixing our fridge and even taking our luggage upstairs (4 flights!). The other front desk guy (in mornings) was also very nice and helpful (can’t recall his name). FYI-If you get a room on an upper floor, be ready to walk up steep steps! We knew about it ahead of time so it was fine.

The staff are great, very gentile and offered a lot of support for us - even without request. The room was also good, even that very small, but offered everything we needed. Beds and shower were confortable, and the room offers a small balcony with a nice view of the street. I recommend this place and would come back!

For us it was not a problem because we travelled using our backpacks and we are small (my sister and I) - but 2 points might be considered: 1- if you travel with big luggages, the stairs are very tinny and room has not many space, 2- if you are big and/or tall, the room might not be so confortable to you. However, we do had a great experience there!

Super friendly, helpful staff. The man who checked us in was particularly lovely. Room was spacious with comfy bed and nice little kitchenette with coffee (and chocolate and apples!). The balcony was also great. Very clean room and bathroom. Easy to get to/from Amsterdam Central with tram stops for lines 13/17 very close. Welcome beers sealed the deal-we'll definitely stay here again.

Don't think there's an elevator? We only had our backpacks and have a lot of steep stairs in our house so it wasn't a problem. But definitely something to consider if you've got suitcases or mobility issues.

The staff at Alp Hotel were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and updated with a very nice shower and balcony. We happened to visit during a bit of a heat spell, which is unusual. However, a fan was in the room which was most useful until it cooled down in the evening. Since this was my first visit to Amsterdam, I will say that at first I was really shocked by the steepness of the stairs! However, I learned quickly that this is the norm in Amsterdam which I found to be quite charming. Secondly, the staff is well aware that foreigners are not used to the stairs. They are happy to assist you with your bags and run up and down the stairs with them like a gazelle! The location was great - within walking distance to canal cruises, and the Anne Frank House. Also, the Tram stop was right close by which was very helpful as well.

Some sort of continental breakfast would have been nice. I think this may have been the case before COVID. However, some good Coffee was available in the a.m. and there were several good breakfast options available within walking distance from the hotel.

The room was spacious and we had a room facing away street with a balcony that faced innercourt yard trees. I honestly just loved this place I felt like a local and it had good transit connections. Very clean, service was very nice. Loved the soaking bathrub. I would totally stay there again except in summer. Good hot chocolate machine. The fridge was actually cold to an American standard and size a true mini fridge not a European size one.

No ac, but if you go during a non hot season it should be fine. The room was well ventilated between the balcony door the sky light that opened (if you are one the top floor). The stairs, no elevator , long and narrow stairs and more than you think. The hardest part is taking your suitcase up and down as expected in a 1900 building. Neither of these issues bothered me because it was worth the lower price vs central district. Beds are better than ibis but more firm than you would want for an American soft bed but standard and acceptable by European standards.
