The smallnest of the room was compensated by functional well designed fittings and huge windows looking out onto trees and a beautiful garden. The table was large enough for two people to have breakfast without feeling cramped and there was plenty of light because it was set near the windows. The bathroom was small but beautifully designed and had an excellent shower. There was an excellent barista style coffee maker provided was fantastic. The room was cleaned every day.

The width of the beds was not clarified during the booking. It was described as 90-130cm. I think we had 90cm width beds, which we both found a little narrow. The mattress itself was comfortable. We could not work out how to use Netflixs; there were no instructions but there was only one evening when we were interested in seeing a film. The bathroom required a hook to hang clothes whilst taking a shower.

The location is amazing and was central to everything we wanted to do. The room had aircon which was pretty quiet and powerful, which was a definite plus!! The beds were also super comfortable, and as two female travellers we felt very safe in this accommodation :)

We stayed in the playroom, which was on the third floor, so had a little bit of a climb to get to our room! However, it didn't bother us too much and we got used to it pretty quickly. The safe wouldn't work and we had a little trouble casting our phones onto the smart tv, but sorted it out after a day or so.

Loved the history of the building and how Fokko met and chatted with us on the day of check-in/check-out! :) Thanks for the hospitality! Room was spacious and comfortable for 4, and loved how it came with a smart TV for netflix! The bedsheets were really soft and comfortable as well! The hotel was located in a quieter area, but we liked how peaceful it was. It was conveniently connected to city center via the trams!

The shower area did not come with a shower screen so it was a little troublesome with the wet floors but it was no biggie in the grand scheme of things! Toilet was large with modern furnishings too!

We loved everything about this gem of an apartment with its beautiful decor, rich history, crisply clean linen, bright and lavishly comfortable throughout, with an elegant reading nook overlooking the canal on one side and a beautiful terrace with table and chairs looking onto a quiet green patio on the other. A fully equipped kitchen/ dining area in front of a Delft tiled fireplace made our mornings absolutely delightful. The location was very good - 5 minutes’ walk from Frederiksplein on the number 4 tram from the Central Station, number 3 tram to Concertgebouw and Museumplein, a short stroll to the Amstel, a Lidl and a number of international eateries along Utrechtsestraat. Another special thing was being welcomed warmly by the host Fokko, who is also the author of a book about the interesting history of the house. I’m so glad we spent some time looking for and finding this perfect accommodation in Amsterdam and just hope to have the chance to go back again.

Can’t think of anything and hope that other guests would like it as much as we did. Note that like most houses in Amsterdam there are some stairs to climb, though for our apartment on the first floor it was just one flight of stairs.

Among the many positive points they counted -The room was large and spacious. The bath was gorgeous. The balcony was kind of small but lovely and enough for them. The location was fantastic. Quiet, but a walking distance to all places of interest. They really enjoyed their stay. Thank you 💜

I booked this place for friends who are a couple, to stay there while visiting Amsterdam to go see Beyonce's concert. On the whole they loved it. On the negative side, they only mentioned really minor stuff that can be easily fixed, like a rather noisy closet door, a weird mirror that distorted their reflection,, and the metal stops on the balcony doors scratched both their legs, accidently. Nothing serious though. They both still said they'd come back to this hotel next time they'll be in Amsterdam. 💜

The rooms were very comfortable and modern. Kitchen was a bonus if you have plans to cook. They have sauces, salt and pepper, kitchen towels and utensils that you need, What was great was that the owner was there to greet us, helped us with our heavy luggage upon check-in and he did it with a breeze and he helped us again upon check-out. He was very helpful! Though there is no washer and dryer in the room, Mr Fokko directed us to the nearest one and it was just 5 mins walk away from the hotel.

We had some difficulties opening the room door. Had to try a few times. Perhaps we were unfamiliar. Otherwise, it's a small matter and actually, everything is fine. Just be prepared for a steep, narrow climb up to your room, especially if you stay on the highest floor.

It’s like an air b n b set up . It has a kitchen , microwave, fridge. Spacious. It has a view towards the canal . Able to walk around safely . Cleaning lady came in every morning and made our beds , brought us towels. Felt safe bc there was 2 doors that we had to go through before getting to our room

The shower is not divided with the toilet. It was smaller than expected. There was a broken mirror above the shower that was splashed & dirty when we arrived . The corner of the mirror was gone I was afraid it would fall on me while I showered. No elevator . Narrow steep staircase.

The hotel is in the new “soho” of Amsterdam. It was a surprise for us but actually it has a great location! The room is big, nice with a nice balcony and it’s all very clean. The hotel owner is super nice and flexible and even agreed to cancel the reservation if we didn’t like it… but at the end it was wonderful.

I guess my only problem was the staircase and lack of elevator. There is no lobby or reception since it’s actually the owners house that was divided into rooms. However, after a day or two you feel comfortable and completely at home so it’s really not a problem.

We had an amazing stay here! The owner was lovely and very friendly, as well as the cleaning person. The room was very clean and it had everything we needed. The location was perfect, we could walk almost everywhere and there is a metro station very closeby. Also grocery store just across the street.

The stairs are steep, but we knew that beforehand and were prepared and to us it was not a problem - but good to keep in mind if you have trouble climbing stairs.

Everything; very kind, friendly and professional host, wonderful cleaning staff, check-in and check-out and overall communication were excellent. Bathroom was absolutely exceptional, bed was probably the most comfortable I've ever slept in. Lovely cute little balcony, great place to start or end a day.

Wish we'd stayed longer! Everything was wonderful, but as a suggestion a small table to fit in the balcony would make it a little more convenient.
