It feels more like an apartment with the kitchenette and loft bed and is a different experience from most sterile hotel rooms. The design is clever and maximizes the space and feels comfortable

furniture , carpet , pillow etc could do with replacing or thorough cleaning as most times I’ve stayed they were stained and leaves a bad impression on a otherwise great experience

Rooms were perfect, comfortable and had everything you needed. Smooth check in process and lovely staff. Would recommend!

Amazing place let down by housekeeping . When they finally came they didn't replenish tea and coffee and threw away toothbrushes, makeup, contact lens cases and other things next to the sink. Completely bizarre and very inconvenient.

We came to Amsterdam to get married. We arrived to find a bottle of champagne waiting in the fridge, and that we'd been given a room with a view of the famous Skinny Bridge. We stayed for two weeks - and would happily have stayed longer! The vibe at Zoku is warm, calm, and peaceful. The staff ("sidekicks") are without exception warm and friendly, and went out of their way to assist us. For example, we had to leave before breakfast on our last day there, so they arranged for us to have dinner the evening before instead. The room/studio was beautifully designed, both in the aesthetic and the practical senses. It was spacious enough so that we felt comfortable staying there when we needed to rest. The bed was very comfortable - a must for us, as we're in our sixties. I brought my own memory foam pillow, but discovered I didn't need it, as the hotel's pillows are just as comfortable and orthopedically correct! The location is convenient to public transportation, which is excellent in Amsterdam, and walking distance to the center. It's a few minutes' walk to the Amstel and the canals. Recently the city decided to experiment with closing off some of the nearby streets, so the surroundings were relatively quiet. The breakfast was plentiful and quite good; it could have been more varied, though one of the staff id ask us for suggestions on how to vary it more. The kitchen facilities were overall very good, though see my comment below.

The rooms are equipped with a microwave but not with an oven or toaster-oven, so cooking options were a bit limited. Other than that, everything was perfect!

The room was like stepping into an Ikea store, except that it was being used for living in. I loved it, but I quickly realised that this place was for a younger generation of traveller (it was the Roman Rings hanging from the ceiling that gave it away). Perhaps it is the more casual side of Amsterdam that influenced its design and ethos but it was slick, functional and good use of the space. They have areas designated for working in and the modern workspace is well represented here. Wi-Fi was excellent, and the Rooftop work/pub/cafe space was inviting. Location was good; close enough to the action with a 15-20 minute walk but in a quieter are , away from all the madness of the more active districts.

For the price we paid per night (270 Euro) I would have imagined there were some things that I wouldn't have to do my self, get my own towels. supply my own milk for coffee or tea, or navigate an unnecessarily complex lighting system. The AC was also not entirely intuitive.

One of the best concepts of a modern mid-range hotel I have experienced. The reception/lounge with that 'green house' on top of the building is a fantastic thing; the jazz evening on Friday night in the lounge was just perfect. What impressed us the most was the eye for detail: how the loft/room is put together, all the things that were available in the loft where we stayed (kitchen bits, and even office material like scissors, sticky tape, etc.), and the locker downstairs where we could leave our bags, things like that really make this hotel work. I am quite sure I will be back in Zoku Amsterdam.

The room was designed so thoughtfully! it was really cute and had everything you could need in a home away from home. The bed and pillows were super comfortable. The hotel also had a wonderful lounge area with lots of neat options for sitting and relaxing, visiting, having a drink. All kinds of recreational options. It was too neat!!

The wifi wasn’t set up in a way that you could connect the television to it, so you couldn’t use the TV as it didn’t have any channels either. We didn’t ask for help with this as we weren’t in the room so much, but it would’ve been a nice to have to relax in the evening after a rainy day. We enjoyed the board games instead!

The common areas on the 6th floor are attractive and inviting. Breakfast was outstanding - several delicious made-to-order items supplemented an excellent buffet. Our room was large, clean and comfortable. Location is good: tram stop two blocks away in one direction, metro stop two blocks away in the other direction.

We are an older couple and perhaps not the savviest of travelers. We didn't realize "loft" meant we would be tottering up a ladder-like stair to crawl into a sleeping space. Then, to get up during the night, one of us would have to crawl over the other to get back to the stair, and hope we didn't fall during the process. Our ignorance is not the fault of the hotel. And, once we managed to collapse into bed, it was very comfortable.

The room/apartment is cool, comfortable design and usage of the space, equipped with everything you need even for a longer stay (kitchenette, tools etc). Bed is comfortable and spacy, great reliable wifi, wonderful rooftop restaurant and community space is available. Easy to rent bikes and they are great quality.

The units are not fully soundproof, you can hear the louder neighbours. The receptionists are kind but relatively slow, you need to queue for longer time than expected (they could automate more services). The ventilation in the room is a little noisy.

We loved the availability of bike rentals and laundry and it was within a block either way from public transportation. Breakfast was excellent in a beautiful light filled open kitchen. The staff were very helpful and friendly. There are lots of activities, stores and restaurants within walking distance. I'm still thinking about how well designed the room/apt. was. It had everything a couple would need in the size of a hotel room.

The icemaker and fridge were great. Also having laundry (5 euros for wash with soap included and 4 euros for dryer) was an awesome feature, especially with access to a drying rack. The best aspect of Zoku were (1) the location near Metro and Tram and clear walking distance to the Dam Square in the Center of town (2) The 6th floor view of the city and restaurant area and (3) the well-designed, great attention to detail (great shower, excellent blackout curtains, microwave/overn).

It's a little pricey for the amenities offered; we have stayed in similar apartment hotels in other countries (Spain: Madrid, Seville, Granada and France: Paris) and the other places were in the 150-180 euro range while Zoku is in the 200-225 euro range (per night). Also, the loft design while efficient (and the apartment is beautiful overall) it may not be accessible to folks who can't confidently walk up and down 6 stairs to get in and out of the bedroom.
