Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam - North Riverside, an IHG Hotel

Location is easy and lovely, there are 2 ways of going to city centre and ferry option is free and nicer. There is a supermarket near hotel and it is quite cheap and good quality. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Hotel and room is very clean and beds are very comfortable. Bathroom design is easy to use. Breakfast is excellent, very satisfied and delicious. In conclusion it is a perfect choice, I would love to stay again in this hotel.

In my room, I couldn't find a direct way to reach the reception, so I wasn't able to call them. This information should be clearly provided. Additionally, I have an issue with the provision of disposable slippers. They are not provided in the room, and you have to ask for them at the reception. However, on my second request, I was asked unnecessary and odd questions about my previous ones. This is not a good way to provide better value to customers over a disposable slipper.

great location…perfect place to getaway from the madness of downtown Amsterdam Hotel is located in a quiet neighbourhood and is only a 10 minute walk to the free ferry to Amsterdam Central Station or 5 minutes on number 38 bus close to hotel…PS. ferry is free and takes 3 minutes and operates till midnight amazing view of Amsterdam from the 13th floor good breakfast clean and comfortable room spacious hotel

staff were very friendly but did not seem aware of local transportation links like the number 38 bus….essential if you were traveling at nighttime on your own or with children There was also some confusion regarding extending checking out times…we were locked out of our room before confirmed check out time

The breakfast was good but very overcrowded so the staff had to stop guests from time to time to enter the restaurant till guests inside do not go to take a sit. It also provoked shortages so you had to wait for replacements of goods and cuttlery, dishes... I would recommend amplifying the opening hours till 11am so that people could distribute more evenly.

The location is not the best because the area is calm and safe but you need to take a ferry/subway to arrive if you did not bring your own car as there are no bridges to connect to that area so that you depend of their timetables. Besides, after arriving to the are, the hotel is at almost 30 minutes walking so not very well connected. Mattress were too weak for me (I personally prefer harder ones) and pillows were too big.

Room 1111 has a stunning view and it was comfortable and VERY CLEAN

The location was not convenient and the neighborhood we had to walk through to get to it is shady

The hotel is located in a bit empty calm area and the immediate surroundings are not very pleasant to look at. However, I liked the view from the window if you look straight ahead and not down - then you can see the river. I really liked the huge windows from floor to the ceiling! The living area around is quite nice and calm though. The room has a lot of amenities except of the locker. I liked the pastry on the breakfast The price was more or less decent comparing to other hotels in Amsterdam and it's just one metro station from the Central station. I would still recommend it if you are OK to walk every day there and back cause the price and the quality are quite good.

If you arrive earlier than 3 PM and would like to check in, pay 20 Eur. The check in time is a bit late per se. Both nights (Saturday, Sunday) there was a loud music coming from the outside (we mostly heard the bits). It was of o issue for me, but m wife couldn't sleep without ear plugs. The breakfast could be a bit more interesting, though it was rather good still. A bit too long to walk to the nearest metro station (about 10 minutes). The shower has a short glass wall and the water gets sprayed through the opening to the floor. I would suggest to install doors to prevent that.

The hotel is in a quiet area, next to restaurants and a large grocery store. The room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was good. We purchased dinner and it was delicious! One of the best caesar salads I have ever had. The waitstaff are very nice as well. There is a convenient shop inside the lobby where you can buy snacks, toiletries, medicine, etc. Oddly, around midnight, there is Christmas music playing in the lobby. Not sure why!

The location is difficult to get to when walking from the train station. There's not a direct route, so you either have to loop around, or get lost in a maze of little neighborhood streets to get there. Make sure you have a detailed map with you! I had to ask a stranger for help the first time.

Convenient to free ferry to central station , bus station, and Metro Station. The big food market just in 1 minute walking distance. Easy to find free overnight parking. Wonderful harbor view if you room in higher level. (Attached photo from my room ) Excellent staff in lobby and breakfast place!

The two elevators are always only one in functioning. So you need to wait and wait during the breakfast time and check out time! The breakfast are all the same, esp hot food area ( only egg, beans, sausage/ hash brown in turns) We felt boring due to we need to stay for 6 nights.

Francine, the receptionist was very polite and friendly. She allocated us a room with an amazing view. We had read some negative reviews about housekeeping of the rooms but we did not find this to be so. Breakfast was great and well organised and food was quickly replenished. It is in a great location if you are prepared for a 10 minute walk to the ferry. The ferry was brilliant; there was no charge and it was very frequent. We had a great time and would certainly stay there again.

Some storage for clothes would have been good as we stayed for 5 nights and had to store clothes in our cases.

Location is distant from the central, so it is quiet but central is reachable by metro and ferry (i prefer to take bus+ferry)which i think more relaxing if you are not in a hurry. I got a room in higher floor with a view of the river/sea and it was wonderful! there was also food market/supermarket if you are looking for cheap food and treats and snacks and drinks :D

location from metro station a bit walking distance and tiring if you carry heavy luggages. should also inform there is option to take ferry+bus from central staion to get to the hotel. the room too cold even the ac adjusted, it still cold.

It's close to central station by ferry. There is a free ferry within 10-15 mins walking distance and it takes you to Amsterdam central station. We love walking so no issues with this. The ferry runs till 11.56pm which is so convenient. The hotel is very big, gets crowded but I found the room quite small considering the price we paid. They clean the room everyday which is nice. There is also a large supermarket called FoodMarkt right behind the building which is so convenient.

No bar fridge in the room. They provide paper cups, no mugs to make coffee or tea in the room but you can go downstairs to the communal kitchen and pick those up.
