Bunk Hotel Amsterdam

The pods were large compared to other capsule hotels I've stayed in. It was very quiet though so you could easily chill out and not be disturbed despite being separated by just a curtain. The mattresses were clean and they had mattress protectors. The lockers under the pods felt secure. For reference I managed to fit my carry on wheely, a day pack, pair of trainers, flip flop( youll want to bring a pair for shower and walking to a from toilet), small tote with some shopping. So lots of space! The facilities were nice and well stocked with body wash and shampoo etc. I never had to queue for shower or toilet and they were kept clean. The bar and restaurant were nice. I only got drinks and there are places to sit and chill. The drinks were very nice. There's a library and other rooms to find in the hotel!!! It's a very funky hotel that's been well converted. It still smelt like church. And there were prayer benches dotted around the place. Good for when dealing with your luggage! This isn't your party hotel. All the guests were very respectful of each other. Although don't let that stop you from asking people if they wanted to hang out in the bar or in town. The staff were friendly and helpful. The walk to the ferry into town is a bit further than the metro but it's a very nice walk and the ferry is free and frequent. Nordpaark metro is very close. I felt very safe walking.

For a capsule hotel I thought the price was a bit steep. The cost to have food included was also a bit out of my budget however it looked and smelt very nice and I would have paid if I could. I had to pay to use a locker on check out to store my stuff for a few hours before my scheduled train. It would have been nice if it was included in the price.

The bed was nice, you could change the color of the light in your pod, there were quite big lockers available for free under the pod (my medium sized suitcase fit in with no problems), the room was surprisingly quiet even though there was a lot of people, after check out i could also use the lockers in the hotel to leave my suitcase for some time, although I had to pay for it then

The pod was nice but the problem for me was that it was a bit hard to climb up to it (i had the higher one). There is a small ladder but every time I was going up and down i was scared that I would fall, you have to be quite fit to climb up there. There is only a curtain closing the pod, so in theory your things inside the pod are accessible to anyone, but if you want you can use the free lockers. The light inside the room was not very bright for me. There is AC in the pod, although I didn't particularly like that it was blowing on me above my head while I was sleeping.

The staff were the best. Very friendly, very helpful. It felt like they all wanted to be at work. Diego was exceptionally helpful when we needed something printed. All in all, a great experience. We will come back.

The only night we could have enjoyed dinner at the BUNK, we made the wrong decision and went to a close by restaurant "De kleine kapitein" and it was horrible. The owner was rude, and we didn't get any food. It was an all-around bad experience. Next time we definitely have dinner at the BUNK.

Amazing style. Totally unique

No air conditioning

I liked the aesthetic, the relaxed vibe and the concept of the pod which offered a comfortable bed, a light, a usb port, an outlet and a degree of privacy.

I slept in one of the upper berths and I must say that the latter up, as currently constituted, is inviting the prospect of harm. Perhaps, extending the latter to the ceiling would make it easier to get in and get out.

The concept and the environment of the hotel are great. The breakfast was delicious. The people were very polite and helpful. Very nice location, quiet and close to the free ferry to Central Station (8' min) and to the metro station (4' min).

We knew that the room would be small but we couldn't imagine it that small. Anyway, we were at the city all day so it wouldn't mind us so much.

Very clean, comfortable place to stay - but rather for people who want to spend a lot of time outside hostel, as when sleeping in Pods there is not much space to stay and rest unless you would like to go to the hostel restaurant. Staff is very friendly. It is nice that there are towels included and some cosmetics are available for free - this is not always hostel standard. Although quite many people slept in hostel it was never crowded and it was quite quiet in the sleeping area (thanks for free ear plugs!). The concept of hostel made from church is interesting and it really looked nice and cozy. Possibility of having a drink/something to eat in the restaurant is also an advantage.

There is no common place to sit and rest apart from restaurant - so if one would like to eat own food there is no really place for that. I understand that idea is to have restaurant instead of people cooking own dinners; but it would be good to have at least some little space with kettle to make hot water or sandwich or use a fridge. Ladder for upper pod was not very comfortable. I am not sure about value for money: in comparison to other countries hostel seems to me quite pricey (it is still hostel not a hotel), but I have seen that this is rather average Amsterdam price and the standard is really good.

Enjoyed the atmosphere they've created, I ordered the prebooked breakfast and it was pretty good, the room is clean, and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The room had a tv, a hair dryer, two towels, and enough soap and shampoo, altough I was carrying my own

You have to walk for some 450m to the nearest metro station, in summer it's fine but in winter be prepared. The room I stayed was smaller than I anticipated, the bed from head to toes ocupies the length of the room, and like many others is inside the building so the window looks to the inside corridor

(1) Comfortable bed and sufficient size even for a 1.90 m person like me. (2) Good place under the pod to store luggage safely. (2) In general despite the constant movement of people quiet room and well insulated pods. (3) Good cleanliness of both pods and common facilities (bathrooms and showers). (4) Good and plentiful breakfasts (although the price of prepaid ones is a bit too high in my opinion). (5) Fantastic staff. Also the metro station (Noorderpark) is just 5-minute walk away. While the city center can be reached in about 20-25 minutes by taking the ferry behind the central station to cross the canal that divides the northern district from the station.

Everything perfect, a good hostel that works well.

Amazing bicycle to rent for an extra fee; style of interiors, nice shampoo and very friendly staff

Room was too small, only a tiny window for day light but not to put fresh air - I feel like for €175 per night it shouldn't look like this. Our ventilation wasn't working properly, it was too hot in our room and the size of the room surely didn't help.
