The biggest bonus for this hotel is its location - in the very center of the city, all popular sights can be reached without using transport. It should be noted that staying in this hotel should be expected to be noisy almost throughout the night - because it is the very center of the city, if it does not disturb - then still - the location is ideal. Breakfast was very good - English breakfast - everything fresh and tasty. The room was not super modern, but OK.

The initial communication with the receptionist was not successful, I had to involve a work colleague who speaks Dutch, because the receptionist was unable to resolve the situation (or explain in English) which seemed standard to us. Even threatened to cancel the reservation which ruined the evening because it was stressful. In the end everything was resolved, I think it could have been done better, faster and without spoiling the mood. The bed was bad- one side of the bed was badly damaged - it interfered with sleeping.

The location is excellent, we've been in Amsterdam many times in different parts and this has been the best location by far. Very central, close to restaurants, bars, coffee shops & the main transport hubs. Check-in was very easy, the gentleman on reception was very friendly and welcoming. We loved breakfast, beautiful bacon, eggs, beans, endless flow of coffee, mini croissants and very friendly staff, a brilliant way to start the day. We were a party of three and had a very spacious, clean and warm quadruple with a view of Centraal Station and the waterways in front of it. There was a spiral staircase to our room, it is Amsterdam remember, but the receptionist made sure we were ok with these before allocating the room.

Nothing.

The hotel is locates right across the street from the central train station, but still it is quiet and comfy. Many bars and restaurants are just around the corner. City centre and main attractions are all in walking distance or easily accessed by a tram. The hotel is very clean. Hotel furniture and decorations are in an antique style, which can be considered outdated, but in my opinion, it complements the old city charm and matches overall building appearance. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Reception works 24/7. Breakfast is good and was included in the price, and that saves a lot of time in the morning and is a real value for money.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The hotel just has a perfect location for a week in Amsterdam. You can just walk to a lot places. Additionally you have subway, bus and tram connections right outside the hotel. The central train station is a few minutes walking away. We arrived by train and just crossed the square to check in. Couldn't be better for train travel. It is an old hotel with a long history. So it is a classic Dutch building. We had a huge and comfy room, which was cleaned every day. The hotel is older but has solid standard. The hotel has an separate restaurant and bar. We enjoyed a night cap in the bar every night. Would stay here again every time.

Location was better than I expected, just across the bridge from Amsterdam centraal and very close to the red light district area. They serve breakfast at their diner on ground floor which was convenient for me to grab a quick breakfast. There is a bar just beside the shop. The rooms are great, big and clean. The floors creak but it didn't bother me much. My room was facing the street but it wasn't noisy as I feared to be, in fact, it was quiet at night. The staff is extremely helpful, super detailed in explaining the facilities and drew us the directions to nearest attractions on the map. Would definitely come back.

Nothing!

Convenient to AMS city center and accommodated a family (2 adults, 2 teen) in a single room, which is sometimes difficult in European cities. Staff checked us in upon arrival and (despite being 2+ hours early) allowed us to check-in early and drop our bags. I realize this has more to do with our luck and not as much a “quality” of the hotel, per se. But it demonstrated a quality of customer service that I (and my jet-lagged family) REALLY appreciated.

Unsurprisingly, given the hotel’s central proximity, the noise from the street was nearly constant- even with windows closed. Again, not a fault - because I knew exactly where the hotel was located - but guests hoping for a quiet night’s sleep may wish to look farther out.

We booked two rooms. One room for two people was really big and comfortable, nice view from the windows (even though the windows were in a quite unusual hight). The other - for 5 people - were a bit on a smaller side, but still comfortable. Location just perfect! Staff really friendly and nice. Breakfast really nice, it had some hot dishes like pancakes, eggs and etc. and everything you needed for a sandwich.

The noise from outside can be bothersome. For us it wasn't an issue, but for those who have trouble sleeping or are very sensitive to the noise it might be a problem. We were sleeping with open windows, so I can't tell if closed windows block the sounds from the street complitely.

The hotel was right near the main train station, so it was easy to walk to. There are a wide variety of places to eat and shop within walking distance. My room was ready when I got there around 1300. Check in was easy and they had some suggestions for tours and places to visit. My room was on the second floor. (The elevator was really slow, so it was easier to just take the stairs to get to and from my room.). The room size was what I expected for European hotel. The was soap and shampoo provided in the bathroom. The bathroom was very small. Breakfast was a variety of bread/rolls along with fruit, fruit juices, coffee and tea. Overall, i was happy with the room.

The elevator is very slow.

Awesome location, in the center of everything, walking straight out the door and into the Red Lights area. Proximity to the Central Station (2 minutes of walking) allows to go basically anywhere in Amsterdam within an hour or so via public transport. Overall probably one of the top stay options for partying and exploring central/red lights Amsterdam. Got a third floor room with an amazing view of the Central Station and the associated corner of the canals, room was spacious, huge window. No AC in the room, but the included fan was good enough for the otherwise somewhat stuffy weather. Facilities satisfactory overall, particularly appreciated the presence of a bath tub. Never caught staff cleaning the place up, overall pretty happy with room service efficiency.

Super-tight spiral stairways climb up to the third floor seemed like a bit of a nightmare initially, although overall didn't negatively affect the experience in a major way. That and you'd probably want to get used to traversing vertically while in Amsterdam anyway. Might be something of a challenge in partying context, but otherwise not terrible cardio. Double bed option was a bit disappointing - twin beds with a mattress cover sliding all over the place. Also the beds themselves were overly soft for our preference. Toilet seat in the room WC was a bit small and loose.

People at the front office were kind, willing, and helpful. They provided us with everything we asked for + some useful info. The hotel has an elevator which is very good and rare for Amsterdam standards. The room's bathroom was very big and comfortable. The breakfast was from 7:30 to 10:30, very useful.

It was a low-ceiling room, it could have been taller. An average-height man (1,80 cm) wouldn't easily fit in the room. Some people from the kitchen/breakfast room were kinda rude and had an attitude.
