Van der Valk Hotel Amsterdam Zuidas -Rai

The best hotel we’ve stayed at in Europe! AMAZING! Luxurious, everything is perfect even to the small details (eg auto light on side of bed when going to the bathroom) Is worth the cost. This place was located one min away from the metro line, can purchase day tickets at the reception for 9 euro which was so handy to take you anywhere. The room was so big, so well presented, shower was amazing and huge and perfect pressure, big window with brown leather setting lounge across and a table. This place has the best buffet breakfast - you felt like you were in 5 star restaurant, anything you could think of for breakfast was there. the chef also cooked live eggs/pancakes and was lovely. We had great communication from reception before and during our stay - offer to upgrade room before. We also had the option to help stay green by skipping cleaning on days. They had a restaurant on site. One of our personal favourites was all hotel quests had access to the wellness centre on the top floor - which had panaromic views, saunas, foot baths and cold shower, lounging beds, towels and water. We spent every night up here and was perfect to rewind from the day - they also had a gym! Just amazing, we couldn’t recommend this place enough.

I couldn't see any obvious gluten free bread options at breakfast, but there was enough choice to pick something else.

The room had a different layout to most other hotels which I really liked. The shower, by which I tend to judge hotel quality especially on business travel was also outstanding. The breakfast was truly excellent with a fantastic array of foods.

Although the breakfast was great, on the last day of my stay it as cold. As it was a weekend and I had to be at the airport to catch a early morning flight I went down for breakfast at 7am. The restaurant did not open till 7:10am and the staff were rushing to get set up. The food on the hot plate counter still had condensation on the pots was cold, the scrambled eggs looked slightly wet, so eggs that day. Also the hot plate was only just plugged in so not time for fried eggs. One final comment was I ended up paying tourist tax for two people. This was due to booking.com selection options, I could only select the two people option to get the room I wanted. There was no additional cost for two people so I was happy to get the room, only to realise the tourist tax hit after checking out

My room had a beautiful view of Amstelpark. The overall design of the space was very cool; a window stretching the length of the room. Every room is also seemingly soundproof and on a high floor as reception starts on the 5th floor. The best part was that the hotel is about 1-minutes walk to Amsterdam RAI station with links to the Airport and Metro (to Centraal Station every few minutes).

The entrance areas and common areas are quite clinical. It feels like an office. Toilet was in strange location relative to the sink and shower. Area around hotel doesn’t have many shops or restaurants so you need to take the metro.

The property is amazing, comfortable and elegant. My room was very big with a cozy king size bed, all the comfort you might need, there was a big and wide window/wall on the beautiful modern buildings in the sorroundings. There is a very close metro station (RAI) and in just a couple of stops you are at the Rijksmuseum. There is a huge gym with all you might need for your workout. The wellness center with sauna is awesome. The staff is always kind, helpful and professional. Breakfast is super. I had a great 6 day stay at this property with my 13 ys old daughter and we had a great stay. Thank you!

It was close to the RAI station which was convenient. The rooms were very clean. The pillows were huge, thick. Had to ask for one that wasn't so big.

We booked online. It says starting at $149 a night. That is only for one person on certain days. We ended up paying much more because rate goes up on certain days when they are busier. Plus we had 2 rooms for a week. It was more than we wanted to pay, but it was the nicest place I saw closest to the RAI Convention Center. It was convenient to the RAI station. For what we paid it should include a complimentary continental breakfast. We did not use restaurant. $19 per person for breakfast is too expensive. I'd stay there again, but ask for a room opposite the traffic/rails.

The first thing I noticed was how clean everything was. Super super clean and beautiful scents throughout the whole hotel. The location is perfect, train and metro station are literally a few steps away and it takes less than 10min to be in the city centre. Love the location! Breakfast is totally worth the price, so many options and everything is delicious! Spa is free, super clean and nice! It’s big and you fell like you are alone there. You can really relax. Staff - very nice and polite. Recommend 100/100. Stayed for my business trip and from now on, I don’t have to look for any other hotels. Coming back to Van der Valk!

Good View, nice facilities. overall a good stay

Bedding had marks, walls had marks, dust. wasn't quite worth the price

The breakfast was absolutely great. Lots of selection. Great staff. The staff did a great job keeping the area clean. The bed was extremely comfortable. The shower was great. Loved the rain feature. Great tile job. Loved the floor lighting at night. We loved the floor to ceiling windows and the view that we had out of our window. Every person that we dealt with at the front desk was extremely helpful and seemed to genuinely enjoy doing their job. Very close to the Metro.

The bulbs in the room did not seem to cast enough light. My wife had an issue seeing well enough to put on her make up. We did schedule a wake up call but did not receive one. The hotel booked the taxi for us. A very nice thing to do. It was our fault but we should have asked the price of the taxi ride to the airport before we got in as we felt a bit take in when he charged us 50 Euros. We were told that it would be between 25 and 50 Euros. The driver was helpful in getting around traffic at the airport.

The room felt luxurious with a big bed and walk in rainfall shower with plenty room for 2.. We had a great view of the nearby park. No noise from neighbouring rooms or from the outside. Close access to public transport. TV worked with possibility to log into Netflix.

The bathroom was split into a smaller closet-like space for the toilet (just enough room to sit but nothing more) and at the opposite side of the room was shower and sink. Going to the toilet especially in the middle of the night was impractical due to the locations of the sink and toilet. The sink was in the open room with the bed so I woke up my partner and vice versa. Self check in did not work and was a very long process. It mentioned a free option to upgrade and when mentioned to the staff he laughed at me for mentioning it. Not the best start to the stay.
