Hotel Okura Amsterdam – The Leading Hotels of the World

The staffs of the hotels are so professionally trained with good etiquette. They make us feel welcome and each of them have the information of the guest (i presume) as they greet us and congratulate us on our wedding anniversary, which I am very touched. The front desk staff was very helpful with making our stay comfortable and memorable. He managed to book us dinner at their Teppanyaki Restaurant Sazanka. It feels like in Japan :). The waiter who serves us was also so accommodating and knowledgeable. The lounge was also comfortable with a very nice view. Breakfast was excellent with more choices, compare to some other hotels we been to, in Europe. Highly recommended.

everything was superb and i loved my stay in the hotel but i'm not trying it again.

- the parking is expensive and it cost 60 euros per night - the dam square its not close so you need a car/taxi/bus to reach it. (one way taxi cost 25 or 30 euro) - i had a burger, spaghetti, soup and 3 soft drink and it cost me over 100 euros, and the laundry is even so expensive. so in my opinion any extra service is so expensive. - the hotel blocked a 499 euros for 4 nights from my Visa which it's much, and when i asked them why they answered it was mentioned in booking.com but they didn't mention the amount of it, so this action made my budget to fall down and i had terrible stay in Amsterdam.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food at Serre was delicious. The cleanliness of the room. With membership access to the lounge was great. Very quiet rooms and comfortable beds, we slept very well. Very clean pool facilities.

The view from our two executive twin rooms was very disappointing. Coming from Switzerland we spent 2800 Euros for 3 nights to look at a pile of bricks and building materials on the ground below, with no view at all but the side of another building and some trees. And the windows were dirty on the outside. There was no view at all. We have stayed at 4 star hotels in Amsterdam with a better view and similar quality in bedding and cleanliness. This was the only disappointing part of our stay.

Everything is exceptional! The staff, the welcome, the extra special effort that was made for our special occasion. We arrived to find a special cake and Macarons in the room to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary. We were travelling as a group of 6 and they left six plates and forks for us to enjoy this in our room. At breakfast the next morning, our table had been decorated with a birthday banner and confetti and they brought 6 glasses of champagne. Breakfast was beautiful and the meal in the hotel at the Teppanyaki restaurant was outstanding. It was an experience never to be forgotten. As a family - our whole stay was amazing from start to finish - a truly exceptional place in every way. Would struggle to find something better. The room was fine except for carpet. Spots and quite dusty. We have dust mite allergy and no accommodation was made for that. Especially that we requested to either have room without carpet or to be vacuumed and dusted before we came. The rest of room was fine except for having to sneeze a lot.

The fact that we have to pay for parking after booking a room, especially an executive suite. If you have a guest, it is quite unusual or rude to make them pay for parking on top of room. This is so ridiculous and it is quite shocking. I am really apalled at this that you make guests pay 55 euros for parking. Also, hardly any sugar or tea in our room. Very dusty and dirty carpet.

The room was a good size. Fab view from 20th floor. Comfy bed..bath and shower & well stocked bathroom. Excellent breakfast... not too much stuff but everything was tempting. Great views from 23rd floor bar. Wonderful pool/ gym.

Maybe location might be an issue for some.. but there's a tram outside the hotel that got us to museums in 10 mins and centre in 15 and ran every 10 mins. Also plenty of cabs. We didn't find out a problem.

I really appreciate Luis Botas’ helpfulness and thoughtfulness. He assisted me with my upgrade and was prompt and clear with his reply about my requests and made me feel as if I were a long-time valued guest. I didn’t tell him the reason for my requests was my 20th wedding anniversary - only after everything was arranged - which for me shows his intent to provide an amazing experience for me, regardless of the reason. Kim Pescadero was also attentive to our needs, even the simplest questions were met with the same professionalism. Both surprised us with a cake for our anniversary (which was delectable) - which I really appreciate. My family loved breakfast - lots of the usual choices plus a traditional Japanese breakfast (salmon and rice for breakfast - yeah!) and hanging out at the Panorama Lounge. We felt so relaxed in our rooms. Overall, an amazing first-time experience! I’m now a fan of the Okura experience.
