The Muse Amsterdam - Boutique Hotel

Location was near lots of cafes/ main museums, tea/coffee station was appreciated. Cool decor in room and clean.

Room was not ready for stated check-in time. We did arrive about 50 minutes before check-in and left our bags to go and have a coffee which was all fine, then we came back around 10/15 minutes after check-in time and room wasn't ready. Staff were pleasant enough but we waited in the coffee area for around 40 minutes before having to ask (instead of being told) if the room was ready yet. Just wish there was better communication when we initially dropped the bags off and we would have just stayed out longer and also with letting us know when the room was ready instead of having to ask. Room was also quite dark (although it was on the basement level), but some more lights wouldn't go amiss.

Very easy check-in process. Clean, comfortable and stylish room. Nice coffee both in the room and in the shared room. Loved the hotel's decor. Very convenient location. A great price for what we get, which is very rare in Amsterdam.

It's Amsterdam, so the staff is less happy and friendly than expected. Not rude or grumpy though, we weren't poorly treated or anything close to that. We wish our room had a bath. We specifically searched for one, Booking said this room may or may not have a bath and it turned out to only have a shower. Not a huge bother though, we were also too tired when we arrived to confirm if we had a room with a bath.

The MuseAmsterdam-Boutique Hotel is perfect for a short stay. Staff is so warm, the hotel is very clean, delicious breakfasts are served in a charming dinette facing a garden. It is located on a residential street, near a convenient tram station, and only a five minute walk to Museumplein.

A queen size bed pretty much filled the entire space of our room. Fortunately, packing cubes eased the burden of living out of a suitcase for an eight night stay, since it had never occurred to me that there would not be even a small chest of drawers in a “Comfort Double” room. That said, given the opportunity to return to Amsterdam, we would choose this hotel again.

There is a cat named Bella, who we'd play with and pet while sitting in the hotel kitchen. How cool is that? Every hotel needs a resident cat. The room was clean and well furnished, the mini-fridge was stocked with complimentary soft drinks and some sweets. The breakfast was great: all fresh ingredients for a continental breakfast. The staff both in the kitchen and at the reception were very helpful and friendly and the atmoshpere in the Muse seems to be extremely welcoming. Our stay felt great and we'll likely choose The Muse again when visiting Amsterdam. See you Bella! 🐈

The location is excellent - walking distance to many attractions, and nearby public transport is very convenient. The room and indeed the entire hotel was extremely clean, and the staff friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfy. Breakfast was very good - excellent croissants and other baked goods - and plentiful.

There aren't enough surfaces in the rooms to comfortably put down items such as phones and books. At breakfast there were no milk substitutes such as soy or oat.

When we arrived the lady who checked us in was so lovely and really friendly and informative. Cute rooms they are small but fine for a few nights! Free mini bar and free coffee and chill out lounge from 12 onwards! Overall lovely stay, great shower, lovely staff, comfy beds. We found the location fine, but we like walking so if you’re not keen there’s plenty of transport around so it really isn’t a problem! Plenty of restaurants and cafes near by! We loved it!

Only thing I’d say is the rooms aren’t soundproof so you can literally hear everything, but they provide ear plugs so can’t really complain!

The place is very comfortable and cozy. The stuff is friendly and helpful. It didn’t feel like a hotel but rather more comfy and intimate. It’s hard to put to words, but it has this special Amsterdam feeling. Oh, the location is superb! It is close to the 4 main museums, fine restaurants (check the Pijp nearby), excellent parks and brand shops; on the other hand, the neighborhood is very quiet. I really enjoyed my stay there.

the staff were so helpful and friendly. Once we changed rooms from the initial 102 on the first night to 301 for the rest of our stay we had a quiet and comfortable stay.

Our first room was not good. It shared a balcony with another room separated from each other by dead shrubs in a container- very unappealing and not somewhere you would want to sit and normally they charge more for a balcony room although these balconies look out on a tall building across the way so there is no view to speak of. This room 102 was so cramped that it did not have room for bedside tables and lamps on both sides of the bed. You are also constantly assailed by the sound of running water from the showers and toilets in the rooms above and the voices of other guests since the partition walls are so thin and you are also right next to the elevator.

Great location, warm and welcoming staff, minibar was free of charge and was restocked daily, wifi worked well, and I also appreciated that the heating in the room could be switched on on chilly nights, quite convenient since it rained a lot. Oh, and the cat was such a seeetheart!

fair warning: small single room is *really* small. I’m a tiny person, especially by Dutch standards, and I could barely move around, had to squeeze in to get to the desk, into bed and even out the bathroom. Opt for a double room if you like your stay to be somewhat more spacious.

The location of the hostel was very good. The front of house staff friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean and well appointed.

Although the content of breakfast was good the breakfast service wasn’t. Often when one arrived for breakfast the tables were not laid and certain food wasn’t available and one had to wait 30mins for it to be cooked. This was for croissants which are a standard ingredient for a breakfast. I feel that the person in charge of the breakfast service needs further training.
