MCM Motel Christchurch

Easy to find and parking was obvious, although you enter the property from Madras Street North, not from Bealey Ave. Well and truly close enough to walk into town in 15 minutes or so. The rooms were comfortable and when there was a hold up with one room, my friend was immediately upgraded to a larger room with a separate bedroom.

The lock boxes outside the rooms for keys were effective enough, but one was missing - fortunately calling the help number got an immediate answer and response and alternative room within the space of minutes. It did seem a little odd onl to have contact with the staff via the phone rather than face to face, but it clearly keps down the covid risk. There was a little road noise being right beside Bealey Avenue, but not enough to be disturbing.

We really enjoyed our stat at MCM motel. It was exactly what we needed, clean, fresh, modern and well maintained. Perfect base for a visit to Christchurch after lots of travel. Particularly liked having the air con, kichenette facilities in the room and the shower had really good water pressure.

My mother stayed here during a family emergency and the staff were exceptionally helpful and kind. Room also had a very impressive array of cooking equipment - pretty much everything you could think of was provided - hotplate, microwave, toaster, mini fridge freezer. TV also connected to Netflix. Actual room was modern if a bit cosy.

Lovely and clean small room. The bed was really comfortable. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this place and will be staying again.

It was a little bit small for my liking but that didn't matter as we were only there one night. The fan heater in the bathroom I think was broken. And the gap under the door let in quite a bit of cold air even with the draft stopper they had.

Check in was easy & staff were friendly. Room was spacious & bed comfortable. Easy to get to and in a great location for getting in and out of the CBD.

Room only had one very small window which looked out to another property. Wasn't expecting million dollar views, but a little natural light is always nice.

Excellent modern clean room with good facilities. King size bed was nice and comfortable.

A couple more pillows on the bed. We were in the end room so had a fair bit of road noise, however this had been stated on the website.

2nd time I have stayed here. 10/10 service the owner is soo lovely and welcoming. Room was a great size and was really clean and tidy. Loved having Netflix Bed was really comfortable. Will definitely book again

The shower is AMAZING and the staff were super friendly and helpful such a brilliant experience

If I had to pick a negative and I'm struggling to it would only be not being able to cast to tv but I'm scratching here

We checked in at 5.30pm, was a cold evening but the room had already been warmed up for us which was a great suprise! Very clean and close to city! Reception was amazing! very friendly and helpful! So was the cleaner. Will definitely be back!

would suggest a full length mirror in the bedroom as only a small mirror in the bathroom - would actually suggest they lower that mirror too as the room is designed to be accessible however the vanity mirror would be to high for anyone in a wheelchair. also would recommend having flannels/face cloths for guests to use. otherwise a very enjoyable stay.
