Sherborne Motor Lodge

Made to feel welcome. We had a very late arrival time on a flight from Australia. Rick ensured that we were able to access our room once we were dropped off by taxi from the Airport. The rest of the family arrived a day later and were able to access their room early which was much appreciated. Location is great. Easy walking to Botanical Gardens (which are just wonderful) and other attractions in the City. We are staying here again on the way back from Greymouth. Rick is kindly collecting us from the Railway Station.

motel was in a good location and not far from supermarket, a pub, bottle-shop and some restaurants. The room was well laid out. Easy check in process and reception very helpful about what to see and do, location attractions etc. Quite and you didn't hear any street noise, or noise from other guests. Parking on site also very helpful.

Nothing bad, and only needs a few minor maintenance repairs. The bathroom shower leaked and the shower is a manual shower head you can hold, it wouldn't sit properly in its cradle once your started the shower and would flip sideways and water went onto the floor. The kitchen tap also leaked. But again minor repairs and it didn't impact our stay.

We returned to this motel after spending two nights in Lake Tekapo. Rick is very helpful. He provide us with local information & what's happenings around Christchurch during our stay. As a return customer, Risk also upgraded our Studio Room to One-Bedroom Apartment with Spa Bath. Unfortunately, we were out all day and did not get to use the Spa Bath. Thanks Rick for your hospitality.

Rick was super helpful and friendly. As we had an afternoon flight out of Christchurch, Rick kept our luggage, picked us up from the city and drove us to the airport for minimal fee. Kitchen has everything needed including a rice cooker and slow cooker. Bus 28 just around corner very convenient as the bus fares are very cheap.

Beds were soft. Prefer a firmer bed.

Owner is very friendly and he gave us heaps of useful information on what to do in the area. Nice location as we left the car in the motel and we did everything by foot as the city centre is a 15/20 minutes walk. Appartement is clean, quiet, spacious. My son was happy to have all this space for him! He was sad to say goodbye to « such a comfy bed » 😉

Lovely host, enjoyed chatting to her. Was super helpful and friendly. Nice, clean comfy room with everything we needed. We even had a proper freezer which meant we could buy frozen food for our stay which was great! Location was easy to catch a bus after we had returned our rental car. Was nice and quiet at night. We really enjoyed our stay.

Thanks for everything!!! I am a backpacker from Germany and had a lot of problems when I came to Christchurch. Rick helped me a lot and gave me hope for good days again. Many tips what to do in Christchurch. The room especially the facilities were perfect. Everything was always very clean! So I could order everything in peace for a week. I felt very comfortable and would recommend this motel 100%. Thank you for everything! :)

Rick met us when we booked in and was really friendly and welcoming, showed us to the unit and explained wifi, tv channels and told us where to find somewhere for a meal. When we booked out we dealt with other staff and they were really friendly also and then Rick appeared and thanked us also. Nice unit and nice people.

The amenities were nice and cozy but the real star was the unbelievably friendly staff. The second we walked in the door Rick greeted us and his wife said hello as well. They are so lovely, and really made us feel comfortable and welcomed. Rick even dropped us into town on our last day. Would absolutely recommend

Great spacious and quiet rooms, the owners are absolutely lovely to deal with and made us both feel welcome. Huge spa bath was a massive bonus and the beds were super comfy with the best biggest mugs for our morning coffee. Will be back again for sure!

Room was a bit dark only because of where it was situated however the other rooms looked bright which didn’t bother us to much.
