16 Northgate Motor Lodge

We travelled as a family and used 3 units. Having a kitchenette each allowed us to have meals together and there was a nice BBQ area to also sit together outside when it wasn't raining. The spa pool was great and when you booked in to use the spa pool, they also gave you additional towels to use which was really good. Close to everything and easy to find as it is on the main road. We all thought it was good value for money and the facilities were really well kept and the whole place was always clean. We stayed a week and always had access to clean linen and supplies in the rooms were checked and replaced each day. On the main road but double glazed so very minimal road noise when the windows are closed.

The only thing we didn't like was the bed in our unit was a bit tired and didn't give much support but the other beds in the other units the family was in, were really good. We stayed for a week and would have liked to have a broom to sweep the room.

The venue is located near the main road through New Plymouth and is in close proximity to the city centre and other shopping centres in the area. In addition it's near the beach and coastal walkway and numerous other routes which cater for running, walking and cycling. The room is super clean, the bed is comfortable and the laundry is changed on a daily basis. The owners, Paul and Sharyn are super hosts and very accommodating.

Absolutely nothing.

It‘s a beautiful motel with nice parking lots directly in front of your room. The room was cozy, the kitchen was well equipped - we had everything we needed. In addition to that, perfect location - everything was easy to reach (and you almost couldn‘t hear the traffic).

There was no real dining table inside apart from the shelf underneath the TV and the small table outside (that we used when the weather was good) - but it was fine

The room was fully self contained with two cooking rings, toaster, kettle and all required crockery, cutlery and cooking needs. This was unexpected and we certainly made use of this. The room was really clean, and although it’s on a main road, we were up off the street and it was super quiet. We loved the hosts had listed places “they choose to eat at” and other places they also recommend. Loved “Gusto” and “The Happy Hour”.

Everything was lovely, the unit and staff. We enjoyed our stay. We would stay there again. It was very handy to places of interest.

Nothing really. The only thing we thought could be added was an extra chair at bench area where we had meals.

We liked the way the room was designed and the bed was very comfortable. The location of the motel was excellent and very close to the CBD. We would stay there again when we visit New Plymouth in the future.

Fortunately there weren't any things we disliked.

Easy access from road and good parking. Despite being on main road in once window and door closed was reasonably quiet.

Thought that the lounge area needs a 2 seater couch instead of the 2 chairs. Was a bit disappointed as wasn't comphy to watch TV.

The location was close to the beach and bike trail. The unit had everything we needed for a 4 night stay the shower had good pressure and the bed was comfortable. There was no noise from the next door guests. Very happy with our choice.

My husband and I had a lovely stay at this hotel. Very clean and had everything we needed. Smelled nice and fresh when we walked in the room also. Great location as we walked just about everywhere.

Nothing really. It was perfect for what we wanted and would definitely stay here again when in New Plymouth .

The location was great for us to get dinner, having sky was great to cuddle up and watch shows and parking was good right outside our room and everyone was super friendly.

There was some mold on the roof, nothing major but just something to look at so it doesn't grow.
