Nice Hotel

Breakfast was better than expected with fresh fruit with our granola. Our dinner meal, although pricey, was absolutely divine. The whole atmosphere was great with the quirky features as real talking points. It would be good to have a return visit in summer to enjoy the outside area.

Being moved to another room at very short notice was unfortunate. Our first room was quiet with a nice view whereas the new room was at street level so noisy. The bathroom was bigger with a standalone shower which was appreciated but being downstairs we could hear noise from people running up and down the stairs and moving around upstairs.

Room was nice and bed was comfy. Location is really good and some great restaurants within walking distance.

No ventilation in the bathroom the condensation was really bad and with no shower curtain water would go everywhere and make the floor really slippery if you didn't wipe all the water up. They didn't clean out the fridge food from previous guest was left in it

OMG we found a tropical oasis right in the CBD! Not only did we get upgraded for free (what I booked online was not what we got) but discovered "The Book Nook" where there is free grog! The staff were awesome, bed was comfy, had a great neighbour with a Labradoodle! Would definitely stay again and highly recommend it. Quirky, comfy and just oozing with colour, trinkets, huge plants, flowers and an upside-down Christmas tree even!

Outdoor patio area could have been cleaner, get rid of the fake plants and cobwebs. Shower not well designed, floor got very wet with no curtain which made floor very slippery. My fiance hit his head on the low extraction fan, it is a hazard as far too low.

The staff were friendly and super helpful. The location is great, easy walk to Pukekura Park for the festival of lights. The place is unique and different, so much more interesting than many of the more chain hotels. Dinner at Table was delicious and a 'bit fancy'. Loved the whole stay.

Everything was amazing. Spa tub, nice bar, beautiful room, nice history about the place, lovely staff and owner.

The restaurant was quite busy, steak was a bit dry with only a tiny bit of jus, no one came to check on me during the meal, I would have asked for more jus and probably another drink.

Fantastic one of the best breakfast I have ever had especially for the price I was gob smacked. Great central location and being upgraded to a suite was really nice, thank you

The sliding door needs a shave very hard to close No milk offered for our t and coffee

Lovely manager, great location, we could walk up to Pukekura Park for the lights festival. Liked the individuality of the decor. Loved the OTT decor in the restaurant and really enjoyed our breakfast in the shady courtyard garden.

A lovely, up-market hotel close to the city centre. Comfortable, spacious rooms with great facilities. Staff all very friendly but unobtrusive. The place was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Wish we could have stayed longer.

It would be so simple to recommend just one thing here in this amazing Hotel Nice but no, I cannot because, I recommend everything . From the moment you step in the door your eyes are unable to stop flickering from side to side momentarily settling on all the beauty around you . From the entrance , to the lounge bar area, to the dining room leading out to a tropical heaven. Alfresco dining and drinking lures you into these terraced gardens harmoniously lit to a T . All the while you are greeted and accompanied by the lovely warm welcome from Maggie discreetly guaranteeing your every desire .Our huge bedroom is glorious and just like the rest of the Hotel it is overflowing with loving charm and state of art comfort. The beds are incredibly comfortable and we lacked for nothing. From microwave, to fridge , to expreso machine , to coffee plunger , heat plates , dressing gowns , superb pressure shower , heating, electric blankets and stunning decorations including chandeliers! We have discovered a real jewel that stands out incomparable with anywhere else in New Plymouth or for that matter in Taranaki . The breakfast is scrumptious and the most delightfully happy owner Terry Parkes made it for us . A man of not only taste but integrity who’s love for art and luxury shine all over this humble naturally refined being . We cannot leave yet our newfound garden of Eden so we will be graced by another night in our dream Hotel Nice . Thank you so much Terry for making dreams come true Michaela

I loved everything

Our suite was very comfortable and well appointed, spa bath was lovely and relaxing. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Central City location very handy. Cocktails in the bar a great way to finish a night out.
