HF Fenix Garden

The breakfast was very good with abundant coffee available without having to queue at the increasingly common, noisy, and needlessly complicated one-cup-at-a-time machines (which they also had for those inclined). They even had a bottle of rose sparkling wine for those truly on holiday. The location next to the subway and park was pleasant as well.

There is no gym — perhaps guests could use a gym at neighboring HF properties. Also, street noise can be noticiable — if sensitive, request a garden view room.

The hotel is very clean. Rooms, albeit on the small size, are very comfortable including the bathroom. The breakfast is very well varied, staff replenishing items all the times. Location is circa 20 mins away from main attractions, or 2 stops away by metro which is a few meters away from the hotel.

Staff at the reception desk are not friendly at all. They hardly acknowledge you even during check in. The location is not so central, which might be a problem for the evenings given that there are no surrounding restaurants or other eateries in the vicinity (except for one up the road).

- Room was modern and well-maintained. I had a room facing the backyard (an actual spacious and green backyard with plenty of light coming in and not the air inlets often found in Spain and Portugal), and considering that all of Lisbons center is part of the approach to Lisbon airport, it was really quiet as the windows blocked the noise quite well. - The curtains properly blocked light from coming through the windows. - Room cleaning worked well - WiFi was fast and easy to use - Breakfast was exceptional for a three-star hotel in Southern Europe. Aside from the basics, there was a large selection of sweet and savory pastries that changed every day. The breakfast room had enough tables, so there were no queues. - The location of the hotel close to Marques do Pombal Metro Station is ideal, also for trips to places around Lisbon such as Sintra.

Only minor issues: - Although the hotel has the usual "If you want your towels changed, leave them on the floor" stickers in the bathroom, it was exchanged anyway, even when it was left on the rack. - There was a night light which could not be switched off. However, I guess this might be due to local regulations regarding fire standards. As someone who sleeps best in a really dark room, I always put my backpack in front of that light. - In front of my room, there was a vending machine for snacks and drinks, which was frequented especially late in the evenings. This meant some noise in the corridor, particularly as the machine wasn't working all the time and people desperately tried several times. Why not put it up close to the reception?

The breakfast was quite nice! Good variety and taste was really good! Staff was very polite and helpful! The location of this hotel offers great connection with metro and busses and also has a nice garden offering a wonderful view just accross the street. The room offers good storage place with a big wardrobe and chest of drawers. This is quite helpful as room being not really spacious. Also safe box is available.

The room is a bit smaller to the size of the huge!!! bed. But if you do not plan to stay in the room all day long- will be no issue. Right at a big street, but there was not a problem with the noise.

Excellent location for transit, but not necessarily where you wanna spend your time as a tourist. Very safe area. Very upscale area. Breakfast as expected, with many choices. Very clean room, nice towels, contemporary decor.

Fenix Garden is one of three contiguous hotels located on a corner on a major plaza (Fenix Lisboa, Garden and Music hotels). Each hotel has a separate entrance, and my taxi took me to the neighboring hotel by mistake. Fenix Garden is on a very busy, small lateral street, and taxi pick up and drop off is difficult. It made more sense to use the front of Phoenix Lisboa just around the corner. So, a bit strange in this way but overall plenty nice enough and more quiet than many tourist hotels.

Superb breakfast with everything you could want…cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, daily savory items, rolls and bread, cold counts and cheese, excellent sweet treats daily. Good coffee selection and juices. Everything was immaculate and refilled often so no one waited for items that needed replenishment. Front desk personnel were excellent…professional and helpful and no request was ever ignored. They greeted everyone with a smile and a pleasant manner. Every hotel should have such a staff welcoming guests.

Friendly staff. Excellent comfortable bed and very big. Clean room. Breakfast was the usual options and it was nice to just turn up when ready and not need to set a specific time. Excellent location for us.

We were going to sit in the 'garden' but it seemed to be under development. We did ask to be on a higher floor when we booked but got the second floor, which was ok in the end but would have liked to have been higher. We didn't ask at reception about it as we were ok staying where we were in the end.

Great selection of breakfast food. No complaints here. Location is ideal for reaching all the major tourist sites. Great access to bus and metro too.

Only major complaint would be the cards for opening the door to your room are a bit finicky. You have to try them a few times sometimes to get them to work. Unless there's a trick to them that I'm missing. Could have been I was not pulling the card out fast enough or whatever but it was also nver explained to me how long to leave the card in after I inserted it into the slot. Again could have been my mistake but it was a bit anooying nonetheless.

The location was great because of 1. the hotel parking, 2. the view from the room, of the nearest square and park, that makes you feel less crowded than a location in the old part of the city, 3. there are public transportation options just across the hotel, 4. the breakfast was very rich and good, 5. there is a very good restaurant (especially their starters) up the street, at the corner - Comedouro

The room is not spacious, but it's a very good size for a room in a big city. The shower was a little tight, and not spotless clean, unfortunately. The concierges don't know enough on the variety restaurants in the area, so they can't recommend so well on this matter, but overall I was happy with this boking.

Excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location - clean, airy, and elegant surrounding neighborhood with great options for eating out within walking distance (39 Degraus, Koppu Ramen, Il Basilico, to name a few), as well as easy access to historic center and other parts of the city via Metro and buses.

The room, though well furnished, was one of the smallest double rooms I've ever stayed in. Shower head holder was very loose. The water temperature in the shower appeared to fluctuate of its own accord.
