Hotel Porto Mar

The location was truly perfect. 10 min from the beach. 20 min to Porto with Bus 500 (one way Ticket 2€) So many nice Cafés and Restaurants nearby. The personal was nice and the breakfast had enough to not feel hungry for a couple of hours. I fell in love with Matosinhos, so whenever I come back I’ll definitely try to get a room in this Hotel again.

I love the spirit of an old-fashioned well-renovated building. 40's hotel with elegant architecture, aircondition, no humidity, no smell. Very classy. Extremly nice stuff, smiling, open to help you. Enough space in lobby and a breakfast hall (and breakfast is rich!). Very easy to acces with Metro do Porto. And I love neigbourhood of Mathosinos. I was in this hotel for the second time and I 'd choose it again :)

No complainng at all. Everything can be pre-solved or solved with kind help of stuff. Common room is cosy, but small. But you can order a bigger/better one and those are spacious nad cosy! We had problem with air-condition in first days. But then we got another room where everything was just perfect!

The architecture and decor is amazing! Very “The Shining” meets art deco in the best possible way. The parquet wood floors and the spiral staircase are especially charming. The rooms are fine - clean and well-equipped. Our two-twin room was small but worked out just fine for two who are comfortable dancing around one another just a bit. The beds themselves actually had some individual privacy in our room. The bathroom was huge, and the shower was great. The room was quiet, but the morning did bring a serenade from what sounded like a million angry seagulls - nothing to do with the hotel, just seaside things. Breakfast featured plenty of options, including some hot. The location is great - on the Main Street in Matosinhos and near the Mercado, accessible to both Porto and the Camino. Staff was all pleasant and helpful.

The carpet in the lobby area is a bit dingy and stained. I don’t really care, but it’s one low point in an otherwise pretty well-curated property.

It is close to the metro station. Nice room and nice balcony. The young lady at reception was very friendly and helpful. The building has a beautiful architecture and design inside, and a cosy big living room to sit (we didn't use it for one night stay though)

as booking.com described, it should be 5 minutes away from the beach, however we needed to walk 15-20 min (not that far ... yet!!!) also according to the website address, we were looking around for half an hour..as my google map showed another location ...finally local people showed us the direction. I felt the neighborhood was not really good ( for women!)

location ( on Camino de Santiago) I enjoyed the historical aspects of hotel - the common rooms had been lovingly restored

Pleasant staff. Good location near Matosinhos Market. Nice room and bathroom. Spotlessly clean. I stayed in this hotel years ago and didn't like it, but it is much improved now.

The tram line runs right outside which is convenient, but a bit noisy at night. Otherwise it's a very nice place to stay.

People at reception are able to speak English, so it helped me and my husband a lot. The mattress and pillows are perfect hardness for us. Big windows in our room are very good. I didn’t have time to use their lounge, but it looked very nice with a big room with nice furniture. Luckily there was nobody stayed next to our room, so it was very quiet. Water pressure was very good.

If there is a tiny kettle in a room would be nice. It’s such a shame for me I wasn’t able to stay longer than one night.

It was a pleasant surprise! The building is beautiful, clean, well preserved and the room was very very good. A bit small for a long stay, but very good. Bathroom was neatly clean and spacious. Just excellent really. Both of the guys I met from the staff were very talkative, helpful, kind, specially the young girl next day. Really good team! Congrats!

Nothing really. Just the room could be a bit bigger, but as I said... it was very good. The WiFi signal was a bit weak but good in the hotel opened premises.

Pictures met expectations. Location was nice being so close to metro/tram if needed as well as the restaurants

No coffee / milk available in the room A kettle and tea only ? Asked for some coffee and was told tea only
